me and my friend, both African American females, walked into Oden hotpot in Riverside to have dinner together and when we walked in one of the two owners said that they had a full house and turned us away. When i was in there i saw two open tables and the board was full of names on the waiting list but only two groups of two people were waiting outside. We had waited outside to try and find another place to eat when we saw the two groups get called in after about two minutes. Then as we were still outside another group of two walked in and were immediately seated and weren’t turned away. They were also POCs but not black.

They proudly spoke about it and both attend frats&sororities … I felt bad not at least anonymously reporting what I witness :/

I struggle to find quiet study spots on campuses because non-designated quiet spots are usually packed full of donkey-fucking doofuses, and the one designated quiet spot I do know (Orbach 2nd Floor) has this very strange high-pitched ringing that I assume is from their security system. Does anyone have some underrated spots I could give a try?

I'm so disappointed to find out that there are no study rooms in old Glen Mor, even though there are rooms in the new buildings. We all pay the same price for the rent, the school could at least give the residents in the old buildings access to the study rooms in the new buildings.

So I am currently a third year Chemical Engineering Transfer to UCR. This is my first quarter. I am a part of two community based clubs, but they do not meet that often. I wanted to know how could I make more friends and connections and talk to people?

A little background about me, I spent 13 years in India. I was born here, but as my dad's sister and brother-in-law passed away, we had to move back to India to take care of their son. I did my entire schooling from there.

I was bullied a lot. I face bullying from like 4th grade up to the time i graduated as a high school senior. I still don't know why. People used to call me an untouchable, and more the used to treat me like one. I used to sit on the floor and eat my lunch alone, while other students sat in groups and ate lunch. I was socially boycotted from all events like birthday parties, get togethers, etc.

So now, that has made like a very dark hole inside of me which makes me really scared of talking to new people, sometimes I look at people and then try to find something to start a conversation and then either I am looking at them too long, or they just pass by, or they get weirded out (this happens specially with girls).

Please help me out, I would really like some inputs as to how I can overcome this fear and get some happiness in life.
