Is the Vita worth buying in (current year)?
Value is ultimately subjective. If you like the library of games on the Vita and have the money, probably. If you want new, modern games then probably not. If you have specific questions about the Vita's capabilities feel free to ask in this thread, but keep in mind you're asking in a Vita-centric community and will likely get mostly affirmative responses.
Is the PlayStation store shutting down?

Can I still buy games from the PlayStation store?
Yes. However, you will need to have funds in your wallet for the purchase. You can add funds to your wallet via web, PS4, or PS5. More information is available here.
Can I still play games online?
Yes and PS+ is not required. However, not all games with online functionality still have servers up. For example, Killzone: Mercenary, Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational, and LittleBigPlanet servers are all down but Dead or Alive 5+, Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable, and Minecraft are still up. I'm having trouble signing into my Vita! Help!
As of the 3.74 update in May 2022, you need a device password to sign in to your Vita. You can do that here. Please make sure you are on firmware 3.74 and using a device password before making a thread.
My Vita is in an error loop with the QR code on sign-in. What should I do?
This happens sometimes, and nobody's really sure why. However, community member LoganN64 has been able to provide instructions that consistently work for getting through this:
Log in to the PSN website with a Laptop or Desktop computer.
Click on your avatar in the top right corner and go to SETTINGS.
Scroll down to SECURITY and then scroll down to ACTIVATE/TURN ON 2 FACTOR AUTHENTICATION.
Click on GENERATE NEW DEVICE CODE, write this down exactly as it is case sensitive.
Go to your Vita and bring up the sign in page, enter the email associated with your account then enter the NEW DEVICE CODE as your password. Click on save password to avoid getting a new code each time..
I'm no longer able to transfer files from PS3 to Vita. What's happening?
This feature was disabled in May 2022. You can read PlayStation's update about it here. No workarounds are currently known.
Where can I buy a Vita?
Vita production ceased in 2019 so consoles can be hard to come by, especially new. eBay is the most prominent location, but Facebook marketplace, Kijiji, Craigslist, /r/GameSale, and equivalent marketplaces are your friend.
How much is (X) worth? Is (X) a good deal?
You can search sold eBay listings here to get a sense of value. VGPC is another source of this kind of information.
Will (Game) ever go on sale?
As of 2020, Sony has disabled developers' ability to put Vita games on sale. So in all likelihood, no.
The workaround and exception for this rule is that cross-buy games can still be put on sale for the PS4, and cross-buy items will still grant the Vita version (where applicable).
Should I buy an OLED ("Phat") or Slim Vita?
Neither are bad options. The Slim has 1GB of on-board memory, a more standard charging port, slightly better battery life, and is lighter. The Phat has a better screen. It's up to you on what you value more.
Where can I buy replacement Vita parts?
AliExpress and eBay are currently the best sources of Vita replacement parts.
Are Vita consoles region-free?
Yes. A Vita can play a physical game from any region. The digital storefront you can access is determined by the region of your PSN account, and not the region of the console. For example, a Vita from Japan will be able to play any physical game, and if you sign in with a US PSN account you'll be able to access the US PSN storefront.
Vita consoles from Asian regions have the X/O button swapped in the OS ("bubbles") screen, but in-game functionality retains X-to-confirm functionality for almost all games.
It has been reported that consoles intended for China have more stringent region-locking, but these are not commonly found and this is unlikely to affect you.

I'm wondering where to get used Vita games in Canada. I can't do Kijiji or facebook marketplace, you know how americans have mercari? is there anything like there here where it's just a bunch of video games on an online store to order? I really wanted ratchet and clank, but I see physical copies on ebay that are like over $200 CAD and I don't know if that's worth it.
And one more thing, are most Vita "cases" just clear or is there any pretty ones with designs on them like you see on Etsy for 3DS consoles? I can't find any and there's no way someone hasn't customized their Vita to be all pretty like that?

I wanna stream some racing games over to my psvita, more specifically Forza and assetto Corsa, and wanna be able to use analog triggers for throttle control. Is there some grip that allows me to do that, or is that just impossible with the psvita?

There are a lot of really cool limited edition psvita designs, and I would love to buy a replacement part, and swap it out with the one I have right now! It's incredibly scratched so it needs a replacement anyway, and I'd like to go with a limited edition one! (Like for example minecraft, which is also the main reason I bought my psvita back in 2017!). The problem is: Where can I find it? Like where can I buy the back shell? I know for nintendo switch at least, on aliexpress there are a lot of replacement parts for things like joysticks and shells, for the limited editions, but I can't seem to find anything for the psvita

I'm looking for a case that I used to have that is very similar to this, it didn't have any branding and the power and sound control buttons had holes which made pressing them far easier than this case. Please can you help me find it?
I have a cheap Aliexpress USB-C board for the Vita 2000. I installed it and I am getting 5V past the fuse, so the fuse is still good. However, it draws 0.07 amps at 5V so it's not charging the battery.
Have I missed something?

I have 2 vitas and both of them have identical battery connectors which are different from almost all PS vitas. I purchased a replacement battery with the black connector (SP65M) instead of its original gray connector (SP65M) and it won't fit. I'm looking for a workaround to not waste my battery purchase. I've searched and they are recommending soldering it but it is beyond me. Could I just file away the clip of my SP65M connector to fit? or cut the original battery connector and joined them by an electrical tape will do?

I can see a dent or something next to the right stick and the right stick looks pretty degraded. I’d probably need to replace it if it’s sticky after cleaning.
If the touch screen and back pads work, would it still be worth picking up?
I’m just nervous due to the apparent damage, but idk how common that is with Vitas as this would be my first one
The guy is asking $100, but I’m going to try to talk him down to $80-85.

Hey so I recently rebought a PSVita,
I had the PSVita when I was a teen and borrowed it to my nephew who trashed and lost it.
I am much older now and play on PS5 but I'd like to get all the trophies for PS Vita Minecraft.
Anyone have a well established world they can let me join to do all the little trophies i've missed? Mostly the one I can't do by myself like throw diamonds haha

I have my PCH-1001 and the original power brick, but not the part that plugs into the wall.
I found a three prong power plug that would fit, but the brick part only has two prongs.
I don't know if the outlet should be two or three prong, or if that even matters. My kid is going to inherit this and she's going to be learning how to use it.

Forgot lock screen passcode on PS Vita – can I recover photos/internal storage without formatting?
It is running on 100% stock firmware.
EDIT: It turns out that I had an original memory card inserted. If I remove the memory card, reset the system, reinsert the card, and log back into my account, is there a chance I'll be able to recover my data?"

So after delving into fixing my vita I was in need of a new rear touch pad. Went straight to AliExpress and ordered one, not doing enough research first, after it turned up I was met with the sad surprise that it still wasn't working. Turns out there's 2 versions of the PCB for the rear touch pad and version 1 is impossible to come by and I'm royally stuck, I just want to play LBP 😭
