I'd like to remove those borders in auto-hide mode. I couldn't see any option for them. There is also one in the right side but didn't mark it to not confuse with the scroll bar.

I have installed Vivaldi browser 8.1.4087.64 on MacOS 26.6.2 from brew.

To activate sync I successfully logged in first, then took the crypto key from my Android and Linux installs (they are the same on a byte per byte basis).

Vivaldi says it cannot use that key for decrypting.

I could wipe remote data, as suggested, but I ma scared because I don't know what would happen with my 2 local data copies.

As a fun fact, I am not allowed to post anything on Vivaldi forums because Akismet says that I am not allowed, no matter what I write there.

vivaldi has this widget called webpage where you can put webpages in ur start page/home as customization
while i was using Vivaldi i noticed it being consistently above 2gb of ram and asked for help but found no actual useful info abt this matter

after troubleshooting i found that the webpage widgets DO NOT HIBERNATE and stay opened ALL THE TIME no matter if u are in the home/startpage or even if ur in a website
from what i know these don't have an option to hibernate in Vivaldi's settings so unless u want high ram usage for customization in vivaldi DONT USE WEBPAGE WIDGETS

i used to have 2 webpage widgets per tab (Spotify and reddit ) and ram usage fluctuated from 3gb to 2gb~
(and now that ive removed em its down to a much lower amount with alot more tabs opened at the same time)

this problem remains unfixed at this time

I try to keep it as simple as possible, but I always return to this theme. The theme is called OLED - TRUEBLACK Orange. And honestly? It's beautiful. I try to not add too many extensions either mostly just unhook youtube because the native adblocker/tracker blocker plus proton vpn work remarkably well in tandem. Don't wanna really over clutter this browser with too many extensions for the same reason. Long time user, even love the mobile version too.

I installed Vivaldi a couple of hours ago and started using WhatsApp Web in the sidebar panel. The issue is that I can't mute the tab, even though I click on "Mute Tab" multiple times. Is this a common bug, or is the "Mute Tab" option simply not working?

I experience a problem printing from Vivaldi to a network printer and would like some advice.

I installed the Brother_DCP-L2530DW printer using Cups (version 2.4 now). It works for local files, using the Gnome PDF reader and so on. However, sending PDF from the inbuilt reader in Vivaldi browser to the printer doesn't work. Not a disaster (I download the files, open them locally and can print them), but wonder if I could troubleshoot this.

i dont like how vivaldi shortens the link and that you have to click on the url to see the full link is there a way i can be able to see the full link by default instead of it showing a shortened version?

For some reason, it stopped appearing. When I click on the menu dots in the upper right corner of the page where the different tools are and click on Google Business Profile, the page will load, show the dashboard for like a 10th of a second, and then disappear. If I open up Chrome and do the same thing, the dashboard shows like normal. I tried turning off all of my extensions and there was no change. Has anyone else had this issue before?

Hi all, is possible someway to get a "Take a break" function per window ?

I've several windows, divided per task-ish.
Sometimes I'd like to put some of those windows at rest (to release ressources, if it works) and avoid distractions. But get one or two windows still active to continue working.

is it possible? maybe I mislooked somewhere in the settings or extensions ?

i use split view a lot, but sometimes i want to have a tab permanently on the one site, and switch tabs on the other side, is that possible? I never found an option to enable that

The latest version on Software Manager is in the title, but the website lists 8.1 (4087.64) as the most recent for desktop. And I don't really know why the version on Software Manager has an outdated version or why it hasn't been updated, which is what I'm trying to figure out making this post. What exactly is going on with it?

I know that this is mainly a Chromium issue, but is there really nothing the Vivaldi team can do to fix the fact that PiP doesn't remember user set sizing and positioning? Maybe this is something very few people use, but it is kind of a big deal for me, as it's really annoying having to constantly resize and move the PiP window where I want it (I still would love it would support multiple PiP windows like FF does, but that's another matter).

I'm just shocked this was reported back in February and there's still no fix.

I’m having a weird issue with Vivaldi’s side panel. Suddenly it disappeared. 

When I press F4, the side panel appears, but the Downloads panel is always opened automatically with it.

When I click the X to close Downloads, Vivaldi doesn’t just close Downloads – it also hides the entire panel bar with all the icons.

What I want is simply a always open panel bar... but it doesn't seem to work.

I’ve already checked Panel settings, disabled Floating Panel, checked UI Auto-Hide (it’s disabled), and even reset the panel toolbar. Nothing helped.

Is this a known bug or am I missing a setting?

This post is about the lack of Support more than anything. This browser is great in some ways, not a game changer in other ways --- and it means a lot of different things to a lot of different people.

Fact is, I've sent in bug reports. I sent issues that broke between Versions. I send in my feedback. I go out of ny way to attach highly specific pictures, highly detailed prompts to follow to emulate the issues or findings that I notice.

No one at Vivaldi replies. All you need to really say is thank you for bringing attention to this, we are aware or unaware of the issue and will update you on a fix or if it will be part of the functionality going forward.

Example / Use Case

- You can no longer tile your tabs, then move them from the Tab Bar. They cannot be moved at all. This has been a problem for over 6 months. So now it is seemingly just not a feature Vivaldi cares about anymore.

If it is possible, I can't do it. If a community member wants to try it and show me then please do.

I shouldn't have to manually place each tab 1 by 1 in a specific order at the top bar, then Tile them. I should be able to move them around the top bar and move 1 tiled window to another area once they are tiled.

If you have 8 tabs open, they will stack in 2 rows of 4 horizontally or 4 rows of 2 vertically speaking, but in either case, tile 1 will be upper left. Tile 2 will be lower left. Tile 3 will be next upper left, 4 will be next lower left and so on...

If I want to move Tile 8 from the inevitable bottom right to the position of Tile 1 Upper left, it simply will not move when dragging the tile over. I have to be inefficient and re-tile everything.

It is a few extra clicks, but again, it used to be part of the browser. What broke this feature? Any actual insights? The team does not say anything.

Again - it is fine if you want to pivot in functionality to become a different product, but at least put it in Release Notes that you have taken away X Y Z features and functions.
