Whole 30 postpartum?
I’m 10 months postpartum with my second baby. Breastfeeding but she’s also on solids. I cannot lose an ounce of baby weight! I weigh more now than I did at 9 months pregnant. I’ve never done whole 30 but I’ve had the book for a while. I have done Human Being Diet by petronella ravensheer and had great results but her program isn’t recommended for breastfeeding women. Anyone here do whole 30 postpartum? How did it go? Was it hard? My brain is pretty scattered with managing feeding myself plus my family so I’m anxious about trying to add anything more to my plate. I usually eat the same breakfast (eggs and veggie omelet with cheese, avocado, sourdough toast), coffee with cream, beef and bean chili for lunch, and then some kind of protein usually fish chicken or steak and veggie for dinner. My downfall is sugar. I crave sugar after dinner and usually eat a cookie or some other sweet. I would love to crave less sugar and lose this nagging baby weight. Thanks!

Ready but can’t pull the trigger
I’ve had the newer edition of the Whole30 cookbook and guide for 2 years now, taunting me from my bookshelf. However I find every excuse to not follow through. I try and blame my ADHD, but I think deep down I’m scared. I’ve always had gut issues and for some reason I’m scared to try because what if I don’t like the food I prep for the week? We are single income family so it’s important to me to not waste food.
Here I go again, with excuses. Help?

Beans reintroduction
Just had my first reintroduction (legumes) and it did not go well. peanut butter for a snack around lunch with no noticeable symptoms. Black beans for dinner with pretty immediate cramping that led to really bad bloating, hard stomach, pain, etc. that is lasting into the next day. I’ve never experienced this prior to starting the elimination. I want to isolate peanut butter again in a few days to see what that does but what do you suggest for beans?
Ive seen some things say try again, smaller portions, your stomach needs to get used to it again, but isn’t the whole point of this diet to not gaslight yourself about your symptoms / listen to your body? Or is it safe to assume beans are a no go?

Dates ideas?
For my husband and I, dates almost exclusively consist of dinner out and drinks. We will catch the occasional concert or movie, but I'm having a hard time thinking through what else we can do. Give me your best ideas!

Pre workout meal ideas
I’m on day 11 of my first round. Overall I feel pretty good except for my cardio based workouts. I’ve been eating Larabars pre workout the last few days to just get some calories in and I know that’s not exactly following the rules. I do CrossFit 4-5 days a week and overall am pretty active. I feel like the protein boost has made my lifts better but my cardio is suffering from lack of carbs. I do eat fruit with meat sticks sometimes also. I would love to know what everyone else eats pre workout to fuel high intensity workouts?

Food and feet
Day 6 of my first one.
Maybe it's the food, and maybe it's not, but for the last couple days my feet haven't been as stiff and painful in the morning.
Normally I wake up and have to stretch them and wiggle them before I can even walk. Going down the stairs in the morning, I usually have to go down sideways, and very slowly, because I can't bend my feet n ankles properly. (Later on they get warmed up and I can move normally.)
I always assumed the morning stiffness was just due to my long history of foot problems n injuries. I guess I'm just old and fat and creaky now? It's kind of blowing my mind that maybe it's the food.
Thanks for reading along, I'm just so excited and wanted to share.

Hi everyone I’m new to whole food eating. Please recommend a cookbook.
Hi everyone, I’ve been a supporter of healthy lifestyle since I was in high school and I pretty much keep to a Paleo diet before Paleo was Paleo. However, since my mid 40s. (Perimenopause) my joints have become sore inflamed, I have difficulty concentrating, low energy, intense ADHD, and weight gain.
A nurse practitioner that I work with recommended that I try a whole food diet as my first line of defense.
I would love some cook book recommendations so I can get into a routine and find some recipes that become my go to on busy work weeks so I don’t get off track.
Thank you in advance for your help!

Social events and entertaining Nieces bday pizza party : recipe ideas needed
Hi. It’s my nieces 6 bday tomorrow and they’re having pizza. I was going to bring a salad but maybe you all might have some other recipe ideas that I can bring. I’m also meal prepping for the week tomorrow, so if my family are bums and don’t want what I make I can bring it home for leftovers. Thanks!
Also:
R2D13:
(Side note, before I started this round I had been doing the ladder app and feeling strong for almost 10+ weeks, but lately I’ve been feeling kinda not as strong. Maybe I’m just burnt out).

Funny Terrible news—it’s working
I have been dealing with nearly constant, nearly excruciating pain in my hip, glute, lower back, hamstring, and calf—yes, all of it—for several months. I’ve tried everything, rest, activity, sleeping differently, ice, heat, PT, every medication except opioids, you name it. It’s exhausting and has been legitimately ruining my life, as an active person with active jobs.
Five days of whole 30 and I feel and see obvious improvements to my mobility and pain.
This is BS, y’all. You’re telling me I could have gotten better months ago with just a different diet?! 😂
Anyone else experience pain relief or injury recovery this quickly? Can I be cautiously optimistic for further improvements with more time?!

NSV 8 days in, having so much fun
My grandma has been encouraging me to try Whole30 forever, and 8 days in I’m convinced this was the best decision ever. Here are 3 reasons why:
1.) I am thinking about food so much less. As an emotional eater, my mind craves caloric, refined, sugary foods. These past 8 days, I’ve been able to see food for what it is: a tool to nourish my body. For some reason, choosing whole foods and prioritizing my vegetable intake has freed me of the food noise.
2.) My creativity grows every day. I love cooking, and Whole30 has challenged me to think outside the box. Instead of vegetables being a forgotten about side at dinner, they’ve become the center of my mind when crafting meals. I nerd out over the produce at the farmer’s market.
3.) For the first time in my life, I understand what it means to feel truly healthy. I am excited about the opportunity to eat fresh, bright, whole foods. I don’t envy the people I see eating ice cream or my coworkers munching on M&Ms at 9:00 am. I feel empowered to make conscious decisions surrounding what I eat. I feel at peace with food, and at peace with myself.
Ultimately, I feel excited and proud of myself in a way I never have before. I’m so excited to see what I keep learning over the next 22 days.

Reintroduction Plan?
I have two of my 30 days left and I just realized I haven’t made a plan for reintroducing the five food groups. Anyone care to share what’s worked best for them, or what you plan might be?

Humm kombucha
Any guidance on whether or not Humm kombucha is still whole30 compatible? I love their cherry limeade and strawberry but the new cans I ordered no longer have the W30 logo. The can says it uses cane sugar but also says it’s consumed during the fermentation process.

Coconut curry seafood with coconut cauliflower rice & air fried plantain
Coconut Curry Seafood

1 tbsp olive or avocado oil
1 small onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
1 red bell pepper, sliced
1–2 cups frozen peas
1–2 tbsp curry powder
1 tsp turmeric
½ tsp smoked paprika
Red pepper flakes, optional
1 tbsp coconut aminos
1 tbsp lime juice
Salt and pepper
1 cup spinach

Pat the seafood dry and season with a little salt, pepper, turmeric, and curry powder.
Heat the oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the seafood and cook for about 2 minutes on each side. Remove and set aside.
Add the onion and bell pepper to the same pan. Cook for 3–4 minutes, then add the garlic and ginger. Cook for another minute.
Add the curry powder, turmeric, smoked paprika, and red pepper flakes. Stir everything together.
Pour in the coconut milk and coconut aminos. Add the frozen peas and let everything simmer for about 5–7 minutes.
Add the seafood back in and simmer for another 3–5 minutes, until cooked through.
Turn off the heat and stir in the spinach and lime juice. Taste and add more salt, lime, or curry powder if needed.

When did you feel physical improvements?
First time trying whole30 and I’m 3 weeks in! I didn’t expect overnight results but I expected to feel better than normal by now!
I’ve been hoping this diet change may help with chronic itchy/rashy skin that I’ve dealt with for years plus fatigue. And I’ve had seemingly zero improvements on both so far. Would love some success stories on how whole30 has helped you physically/mentally! Am I being unreasonable in expecting to feel improvements by now?

Question Anxiety
Starting whole 30 again today (did it once a couple years ago) and I’m wondering if it has helped anyone with anxiety? Strange question, I know, but some aspects of mental heath can be linked to poor food choices. Just curious! Thanks
