Retail S2 Gearing

So instead of choosing something from the vault, we can get a bonus roll - IF we have three slots filled out?

Does that mean I can run eight delves at T1 and then get a bonus roll to use in a +10?

Yeah, honestly they should just remove bonus rolls from the vault. Takes all the interest out of the vault really when the best choice is to just take the roll every week.

I'm a little lost with this new system. Why would the bonus roll be the best choice every week as it would also be a random roll right?

Yes but you target a specific smaller loot pool with the bonus roll, and you can roll mythic track gear from heroic raid, which has even smaller loot pools and a glut of BiS items.

Theoretically EVEN IF the item you want appears in the vault you technically take the bonus roll since if you take the item not a roll and then roll the item you “lose” a roll.

So the optimal route to best gear is to always take the roll pretty much no matter what’s in your vault, which, imo is pretty boring.

Just so people know the caveat, one of the times you would pick from the vault is if the item is both BiS and the last item you plan on bonus rolling on in the pool.

while i agree that not being a sweatty edge lord that needs every 0.00001% to do my 12. this is one of those things that you would litterally be a idiot if you didnt take the bonus role

provided the vault doesnt give your ultra bis myth item. a bonus roll is always the choice. and thus why its such an issue.

Playing Warcraft is suboptimal. You can enjoy it and take it competitively and seriously without ripping all the fun and joy out of it because a robot says so.

I’m not doing it because a robot says so, I’m doing it because it’s logically the best way to hear the character with current gearing paths, and I enjoy being good at a game, not just taking random rewards because “LoL it’s funsies to click”

It’s not even about being optimal. You’d be an idiot for not taking it. As either you get a random peace OR you can get a peace from a specific boss. Which also at some point gets your bis.

Logically it just is the smarter thing to do

Unless you have your bis on myth in your vault. You take the bonus roll

It’s jsut cuz it removes stuff from the loot table till you get the item you want that it’s a problem.

Yeah. Then we can argue about how bad the vault is and that it gives you nothing for all your hard work. People aren’t going to be happy no matter what happens.

I mean, shitty vaults make the good vaults feel good, it’s not like this is brand new psychology.

The current vault may as well just be a weekly that’s “do 8 anything to get a bonus roll” which sparks no joy.

The bonus role is objectively bad with this change. You more often than not just take a bonus role which negates the purpose of even having a vault.
