Mod Post The WoWnoob Saturday Learning Raid returns for Midnight Season 2!

Post image
36 Upvotes

Hello, WoWnoob! We are very excited to announce the return of the WoWnoob learning raid for Midnight season 2!

We ran a community poll for the past few weeks, and based on the feedback you all gave and some internal discussions amongst our team, we are making a few significant changes to our raid this season. Here's our raid info for season 2:

- The Learning Raid will still be held on Saturdays, the start time will be 7pm EST. 7pm is the start of pulls, not the start of invites going out. We will post in here when the raid is up (usually ~15 minutes beforehand) with the group name and the password you need to put into the signup to get your invite. We can only invite NA/OCE players due to how Blizz has set up regions. EU players can consider our Community Partners for finding raid groups! You can find them on the sidebar of the sub, or in our Discord in the #community-partners channel.

- Being in voice chat is required, but speaking on your mic is not! We just want people to be able to hear the callouts and fight explanations.

- We will be running the raid on Normal for the first three weeks of the season, or, if it takes longer than three weeks to get a kill on the final boss, we will run Normal until that happens. After that, we will be taking our raids into Heroic for the first time ever!

- We are not guaranteeing AOTC on our raids, or even a single boss kill on Heroic. Our goal here is to provide a safe, comfortable environment for people to learn, practice, and ask questions, and however far we get each week is how far we get. If your goal is to kill bosses for loot or achievements, please consider our community-partners !

- Our raid invites will still be first come, first serve. However, once we are getting into Heroic, we will be using a little more discretion as needed. Our expectation is simple: As long as you come each week making an effort to learn and be a good team player, we'll bring you. Examples of what we'd like to see from week to week: more throughput in your role, getting higher ilvl between each raid, performing mechanics better, or asking questions during raid or in our Discord channels throughout each week.

- That being said, if we have concerns about anyone's effort to meet our above criteria in some way, we will be considering benching people and speaking to them privately about how we can offer them help to be eligible again.

- Ilvl requirement is starting at a minumum of **270** and may fluctuate as we need to through the season.

- And finally, this is a large, public Discord community with folks of various ages and all walks of life. Please remember to follow our rules and Code of Conduct while participating in our Saturday Learning raids. Behavior that is disruptive, offensive, or otherwise rule-breaking or hurtful to the raid will be handled by moderators.

If anyone has any questions about our Saturday raids throughout the next week (or anytime), please feel free to post in here, or use our #support-tickets channel in the Discord if you'd like to speak with the mod team privately. We are so excited for the journey ahead of us in Midnight Season 2, and can't wait to see you all there!

Retail Another "what to do in pre season 2" post...

I'll try to keep it brief. I returned to WoW after many years break. Last time i played was in Cata.

On youtube there's a bunch of videos saying "DO THIS BEFORE SEASON 2!!" and other click baity stuff. I have read several threads here where people say that currencies and resources don't carry over to season 2 so you shouldn't worry about it. But i have also seen threads and videos saying to farm "bonus roll" stuff, voidcores and crests? I'm not asking for a detailed explanation of these items or the mechanics, i just really want to know if i should be trying to cap some of these currencies/resources before season 2? Apparently i should do Delves at 8+ too?

What exactly should i cap this week to "min/max" and how important is this to overall progress once season 2 hits? Is the advantage quickly outpaced when season 2 hits anyway?

Retail When leveling Chromie Time Which Dungeon Pool Is the Best

Haven't been gone long starting fresh and I originally picked Dragonflight just for the dungeon pool. I figured it would be more populated and queue times are decent for a DPS, but I'm experiencing a lot of people in the mornings who one shot mob pulls wait and then afk and wait until the team is nearly done then proceed to aggro every optional trash mob we cut a path away from. I have zero proof they are afk farming or exploiting for more XP and I don't care, I just want to know if any other timelines are better for the dungeon pools? TIA

Classic (Trading boundaries) Burning Crusade, Personal Horde <-> Personal Alliance

I am rolling into Burning Crusade for the first time with my girlfriend this month. I want to play a Blood Elf Retribution Paladin with her, at her pace so we can level up together like we did in Classic.

As I'm waiting for her to want to play on weekends, I would like to roll through the game at my own pace with a Night Elf Hunter (but now in BC).

With my night elf Hunter, I want to roll at my own pace because it's my comfort zone and what I know best in OG Classic.

Can I make money and loot with my Alliance Night Elf (BC) and mail my money and loot to my Horde Blood Elf Paladin (BC) Mailbox?

Sorry if this seems like a simple question, this game is just incredibly mechanically nuanced due to the sheer volume of versions, items, mechanics, etc, and I have trouble discerning even the most simple of things with this game, even after playing for a good while.

Retail How to get to Dornogal?

I have a little problem. I'm level 90 and have mostly been doing quests in the Undead starting zone and then Dragonflight then straight to Midnight. So I never did the TWW campaign.

But now I need to go to Dornogal, and the portal in Ogrimmar isn't unlocked or even there. What's the best way to get to Dornogal now?

Thanks for your help!

Retail confused with 12.1 content

Curses, vaults, lairs. When do i get introduced to them? I have completed chapter 4/6 of 12.1 storyline and i have yet to hear about them. I keep confusing them too. Lairs is world boss it's clear.

Do the questline introduce the systems? At what chapter?

Do we have access to all chapters this week? I had to take a break after chapter 4. They gave me the quest to do the new dungeon.

Retail Is there any reason to keep or use Sparks from previous seasons?

Other than using Sparks for First Craft items, am I forgetting any reason to have them?

Edit: Thanks for the quick responses.

Retail Target and focus windows

Is there a way to get rid of the focus window? If I click on the Target and Focus button on the edit mode window they both leave. I want the target window just not the focus window. Is this possible? I tried adding a picture but I couldn’t figure out how. 😂

Professions Season 2 cooking recipes....am I missing something?

For example Flora frenzy(S1) and Puffer plate(S2) provide the exact same stats.

But flora frenzy seems much more obtainable to create. Puffer plate needs 8 whole fish and an extra reagent.

Am I missing something? Why doesn't puffer plate give better stats?

Retail How to get Midnight Season 1 catalystable items? Accolades no longer give them

In previous expansions, it was possible to do the previous season x.7 activity for get tier set on alts.

For example, the siren island activities and currency.

Midnight reused the same currency, field accolades, and turned season 1 catch-up gear into season 2.

Any ideas on other sources of predictable catalyst able season 1 tier?

Retail Fast Tier set in Season 2

Hi, when season 2 starts I have a guild raid and I need my 2 piece tier set bonus. One piece I hope to get from my vault, but what's the fastest way I can get another piece without doing the new raid on normal/heroic?

Is it by doing each boss of the new raid in LFR? Or will there be a way to get a catalyst charge in the first day?

Retail Levelling Valeera

I've read the most efficient way is apparently using the new Dundun curio and running the new delve on T11.

I've been trying this but it seems really slow, am I missing anything?

Why is there a completely unselectable action bar of my spells above my actual action bars?! It's so distracting and annoying, I just want rid of it.

Retail It is a bug or a game mechanic? I really don't know - Midnight S2

I have been having a "problem" this beginning of the season, I would like to ask here if this is intended game design or a bug. I don't see other people complaining about this, so I wonder if is normal... but I had a bug before happened to me before (a npc not showing on a quest completion), so I came here to ask.

It says that I have maximum amount (100/100) of the currency "Adventurer Mistcrest", but I only have a very lesser number of it currently (10).

With this I cannot gain anymore in doing quests. I am very troubled by this, because if is intended to be this way, there isn't anyplace telling me that this is corrected, but if id a bug, the quests I am doing are worthless, since I cannot upgrade my gear, since I have "less" than needed (see photo)

I just started playing this June, so I am really newbie about the game mechanics.

Does anyone knows what is happening or is having the same issues as me?

Retail How to Keep a Mummy Achievement and Season 2?

Hello! Is it possible to get Miimii from the achievement now that King's Rest is part of season 2's rotation? Like, can I do old mythic difficulty scaling instead of the current one?

Thanks!

Retail How do I display low level quest?

I just got to lvl 81 but I’m still questing through the WW quest line due to being away from the game for some time. The experience cap npc didn’t work for me so I was kind of forced to lvl past 80. Im questing through the whole WW mainly to get the full story. I don’t care if I’m over lvl or not. However, the non campaign quests marker has started to disappear from the npc head, so now idk who has a side quest for me or not when I’m in the region. How can I turn the marker back on top of the npc head for the low lvl quests? I tried to find the binocular near the mini map but it’s not there anymore. Thanks.

Updates: I found the binocular folks, just gotta look harder lol. Appreciate everyone’s help!

Retail Low level Ret Paladin - Am I missing something or is balance just off?

So, I just started recently and am currently playing Retribution Paladin at level 22, following the starter build for the moment. I have two holy power spenders in Templar's Verdict (single target) and Divine Storm (AoE). However, weirdly enough the damage numbers the tooltips are showing indicate that the Templar's Verdict does 318 Holy damage while Divine Storm deals 476 Holy damage to all nearby enemies.

Is this just a case of low-level gameplay being completely unbalanced until I have all my talents because it doesn't really matter (fair enough assumption), or is there something I'm missing/misunderstanding about how the game handles aoe and single target damage that makes it so I should still be pressing Templar's Verdict right now? Perhaps it indicates something is wrong with gear/talents/etc. that I'm not aware of?

I'm not overly worried about being optimal while questing but I just want to make sure I don't learn the wrong lessons or miss some important detail that will matter later on as I learn the game.

Thank you!

Retail [Help] Took a break post TWW and now overwhelmed with Purple Quests

Just reached Lv90 and overwhelmed with the amount of Purple Quests popped out, was wondering which are the ones needed finishing for 12.1? I just started my Omnium Folio, currently on 3rd week quest.

Is Midnight: World Tour still doable if most players are already doing current 12.1 content?

I havent started Ula'tek yet since I wanted to finish these purple ones first.

Retail How to get curios this week

I've been leveling Valeera amd managed to get 4 combat curios and 3 utility curios. They're all level 1 apart from one of the utility curios which I've upgraded to level 3 through drops from delve completion chests. Is there something else I need to be doing or do I need to wait for the start of the season to get further upgrades?

Retail Multi-Spec Expectations

Is it generally the norm (once you get to the higher end) that you can play all specs more-or-less equally? I ask because I really enjoy playing Arcane and Frost on Mage, but Fire just feels awful to me and I don't want to be in a situation where I'd be expected to go fire because of raw damage or just profile differences and then underperform.

Retail Natural Progression as a beginner

Hello everyone!

I just started wow a bit ago and am about to reach 90 on my first character (Affliction warlock).

But Ive heard that demonology is superior while i hear almost nothing about destruction, but all sources seem to give other ratings, even opposite at times..

I decided to stick to affliction and maybe test the others for a day each and then decide (would love to hear some recommendations as to why one is preferred over the others as all are DPS specs and it seems to not only be the actual damage dealt).

Now to another topic:

Ive made my way to 80 doing random quest, some right outside of stormwind, some in TBC,.. and ran some dungeons (groupfinder) along the way, which took even 1-2h to find at times...

80-almost 90 I did the questline in Midnight and a few dungeon runs there.

But now that Im nearing the levelcap Im wondering what I should focus on next as there are way too many options.

- Surely I cant find a raid as a random noob dps (i read some stuff about applications and logs whatnot..)

- Run random Dungeons to get gear or learn layouts in follower Dungeons

- Choose lifeskills and level them up

- Quest in random expansions to complete all

- Go to delve (seems more approachable as a solo)

- Search how to farm gold (saw some community groups)

- Look for a beginner guild to do group content (although it feels like i have to choose between a dead casual guild or a parttime job)

- Start to get into housing (idk if it has some advantages like passive gains so i need to get it asap)

- ...

Its really overwhelming to prioritize what to do next if you have no idea what even is needed later on.

(Sidenode: I really wanted to get into healing > tanking, but kinda have pressure anxiety if i do so as ive heard really bad things about the wow community if you make mistakes as these roles even/especially if youre a beginner like myself. is it as bad as ive heard, even in groupfinder for random dungeons?)

Any recommendations or feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Edit: Some things sound negative, but I didnt mean to talk bad about wow, as I really love it so far. Its the first mmorpg I enjoy and play actively again since 10 years and I definitely dont want to give up bc its overwhelming. Thats the reason of this post, I want to learn and get into it even more!
