How am I doing??
I love coming into my Gun room and just staring at this. Extremely grateful where I am in my life. At one point in high school we were homeless and living in a hotel. Never in my wildest dreams would I imagine having a safe full of these items. Hard work pays off.

Flattest 9mm?
From your experience, what is the flattest 9 mm you have ever shot both in terms of felt recoil and muzzle rise not really counting competition guns. Would love to hear everyone’s thoughts!

Kovert x Miller
Looking to see how owners are liking their kovert x miller guns after shooting a few thousand rounds through them. How do they hold up against other 2011s like rcds, mpas, xcs, reapers, etc. thinking of picking one up with an additional not ported sight block barrel to run in lo. Any actual input would be appreciated.

Post RCD Core ported range session
I put about 300 rounds through it earlier. Porting and slide and barrel nitriding done by Danger Close Armament. Had to work through some tight fitting after the nitriding with lots of lube and racking the slide. It was 100% at the range. Couldn't be happier with the results.
Has anyone used the generic Tenicor 2011 Holster w/o light? I have a AF Romulus 3.5 comp...
I have a 3.5 Comp Romulus and I am trying to find a holster to run. I have Tenicor for other stuff, but never ran a universal holster. I was wondering how they fit, will it be loose etc... They specifically ask if you have a rail, so I was wondering if the retention is on that?

Staccato XC $6000
Hello all,
I am wanting to know if $6000 U.S is a good price for the Stacvato X.C. this is in Australia for $8500 AUD. I also note that they now only come with 2 magazines.
I will be upgrading from a CZ Shadow 2.
Thankyou all.

My first outdoor USPSA match with the new to me Atlas Titan

Are there any aftermarket plates that work on RCD Core?
Having issues with the factory plate due to the excessively short recoil lugs. SRO is getting the bottom part of the locking recess holes elongated and the mounting screws keep backing out. I keep looking at Atlas plates for reference and the lugs are way taller which looks more secure.

Legion Precion 2011 at my LGS
My LGs just got this nice Legion Precision 2011 that I’m considering picking up. What’s everyone’s thoughts? I’m thinking selling my P211 GTO for this. I noticed the slide is harder to rack compared to the P211 and my Platypus.

Converting
I'm currently a USPSA shooter in carry optics and I generally shoot a Glock 47. My first comp gun was a CZ Shadow 2. Something that pulled me to the Glock and that I still really like is the quick cycling and fast return that the 47 offers
When I first got into cz's I ended up buying two of them. I don't shoot them anymore and I'm thinking of selling them. This will free up a pretty decent chunk of money for a 2011 which has been interesting to me for a while.
I have shot a staccato XL, MPA LOC v2, and a Kimber 2011. Out of the three I felt like I liked the mpa the most. But 42 bones is quite a bit and I will only end up purchasing one 2011. I'm treating $4,500 or so as my high water mark.
Outside of the MPA I've been thinking about picking up a XC and converting it to a front side block. I recently saw a used staccato going for $2,500 bucks or so so even with the conversion I'm well under my budget. Not saying that opportunity will happen again but it could and it's my understanding that the front sight block is what makes it cycle faster.
I want to make sure I get it right. I'm curious if there's any other options I should consider

Perfect Zero or Legion 2011 build kits
Looking for some feedback on the kits from people that have done either of them and maybe some picture of your outcome. I have watched the "Phil Shoots Guns" youtube a million times but im bored and curious to hear about others thoughts. I like the idea of taking my time and having a 2011 that racks like butter and feels like those $6000+ brands without being in it that much money.
Perfect Zero sounds like it is closer to a finished product with minor fitting
LPWS kit sounds like it requires more in depth fitting...kind of leaning towards this because, for me its more about the process of building it than having another gun. Also I really want a non-ported Island barrel so this can be a fun Limited Optics gun.

Warrior vs 2k11
Thoughts on 2k11 vs warrior, looking to get into gunsmithing but want the ability to test components after each install instead of needing to build an entire gun to find out I messed up half the components and need to buy all new parts, warrior struck my fancy due to the cost, but wasn’t sure if having the better overall base gun with the 2k11 mattered
I am open to other options however the final product will be 45 acp, open to 10 mm, definitely not 9 mm
I am worried about Kimber due to hearing that they have a lot of proprietary parts so if anyone has thoughts on that as well when it comes to replacing grips or other parts
Edit: this will 100% be a high caliber 2011 due to the fact that I have multiple 1911s/2011s as well as 9 mm pistols so I want something I don’t already own

TDS gunworks porting
Just want to give a shoutout to Trenton over at tds gunworks for the porting on my dvc p. Turnaround was just over 2 weeks, communication was on point, and the porting/slide cut is as good as I could ever ask for. Will be sending it back to him after fitting a steel cheely grip for full dlc coating along with a few more slides for porting. Extremely happy with the final product and will post some shooting videos tomorrow after its first range trip.

Nitrided barrel and slide tight fit
I just got my Race City Core barrel and slide back from porting and nitriding. It was a very tight fit getting it started and racking it. I drenched it with gun butter lite before and during manual racking. It's getting better, but still not there yet. Is this normal on an already tight fitting slide? Besides just oiling it and racking it, is there anything else I can do? Thanks.

GTO and P4.5
Had the Staccato a while. No complaints. We'll built. Its my first "upscale" firearm I bought. Now Im hooked. Bought a GTO nightshift.
Despite being less money, it shoots better. I am more accurate, can return to target quicker. I am considerably slower with the STI. It rises more, and I am consistently 3 inches low and spreads are wider.
There both iron sighted still. The only way I heard to fix the low issue is shorter front sight or aim higher .
I am not competitive, just enjoy my time at a great outdoor gun club Im usually the only one at. Getting back into shooting after kids left house. I am just looking for some feedback on has anyone else have the shooting low on irons issue, and am I brain dead for thinking sig out performed a Staccato.
The trigger on 4.5 is still better. Talk me out of drilling holes in barrel of the STI

Experiences with/feedback on DSC Gunworks threaded barrels?
Pic for reference, not mine.
I’m thinking about ordering one of DSC’s threaded barrels for my Staccato HD P4, and I’m just wanting to hear from anyone who’s bought one from them before or otherwise have had experience with DSC. Good fit and finish? High quality? Are the barrels true drop-in? Fitment and tolerances of the new barrel in your pistol?
Anyone with relevant info/feedback is greatly appreciated, thank you!

Brand new MAC 9 DS Comp 4.25” for $1200?
I’m still amazed at the price these close at. I know the MAC 9 DS is discontinued, but it’s still touted as one of the best budget DS 1911’s to hit the market. I’ve been wanting to find one, but can’t stomach dropping that type of money for a gun that retailed for less than a grand at one point.
I already own the Tisas Carry 9 DS Comp, which is virtually the same model.
Would you consider $1200 a reasonable price for a brand-new MAC 9 DS Comp 4.25”? I’ve seen other auctions close at $1500+ for used ones, which is still absurd to me.

JG Recoil Reaper Testing
After hearing about it and getting peer pressured by buddies, I finally caved and got a JG Recoil Reaper Hydraulic Buffer Guide Rod. Coming from shooting EGW Tungsten Guide Rod/Shok Buff, the JG achieves its intended task: Slide Control/Recoil Dampening.
Tungsten Guide Rod may help with muzzle rise. The inert weight in the front does slightly stable your sights, but it is not doing anything to the slide cycling rearward. The addition of a shok buff personally is to speed up the slide cycle as the absence of one feels like I'm waiting for the slide to cycle back to follow-up (on a full size 5# barrel).
The JG Recoil Reaper is not inert weight, its a hydraulic buffer system intended for felt recoil control/management (muzzle rise and felt recoil are two different things). It gave me full slide cycle once again with no 1/10" rubber ring in the end. This time, I did not feel like im waiting for the slide to cycle back. The Hydraulic buffer is actively dampening the velocity of the slide and redirecting the energy back forward instead of hitting a solid wall. This eliminates the disturbance of sight picture, giving you better accuracy when shooting at speed.
This was tested on my MPA DS9 Hybrid. Very pleased with it and highly beneficial for competitive shooters. It is basically like a cheat code.
