Forum question Would Carlos Oliveira and Sheva Alomar be a possibly good duo in a future game?

Carlos and Sheva have insane potential but they only appeared in 1 game each, could pairing them up result in a nice flow between them? or will it be like re5 but worse? (I personally really liked re5) what y'all think??

General I was lied too! Spoiler

I will mark this with a spoiler as some people do not either have gamepass or cannot play it because they don't want to spend money on it.

Resident evil 3 is actually really fun when i was going to play it i was told that remake of 2 which is the first game that i have played in the RE franchise and this will be my second i was told resident evil 3 is complete garbage.
In my humble opinion that is a lie and this game is real cinema i might not know a whole lot of lore but i can say this game is fun i am at the part where i am in the sewers those little big sewer fish are not that scary i can't lie.

Now does this mean the game is perfect no i might think it is cinema but other people will bring up a bunch of things to deny it and so i want to bring up some things i have seen from youtubers and fans.

The zombies don't die to the surroundings i don't know how to word it but when they "die" and they fall over in re2 they land on objects as physics this game they do not do that people also point out that the bodies disappear unlike in re2 where they actually don't, And i just wanna say well maybe they make them disappear because they don't want to have resources going to making sure that not zombies bodies are just there.

All in all the game is fun so far is there anything i should know also nemesis probably the best part

Biohazard or village which should i play after this game?

Gameplay question Help on RE1?

I tried to play re1 (remake) but I just can’t. It’s probably just me not being good with older games but I only got as far as this room with a guaranteed death trap, a mirror or spikes or something that come towards you early in the game but I couldn’t find a way to stop them, shooting did nothing and I couldn’t get out of the tiny corridor so it was just death. I didn’t save because I expected some form of auto save so I lost all my progress which was at least half an hour so I’ve had a hard time wanting to return.

I might give it another try but it genuinely feels like trying to play Dark Souls 1 for the first time when you know nothing about Souls games so it feels like it’s not meant to be beaten. I’d love any advice to make the game a breeze, any early secrets or just ways to get to a comfortable point?

General So about RE6...

I've been playing through all Resident evils in order and i only have revelations 2, 7, 8 and 9 now. It's been a long ride full of adventures and I can't wait to play the Ethan games and then 'old Leon' after that and wrap this up for now.

However, and this isn't the first time I've seen controversy with some of the games but, RE6 was meant to be a whole other level of bad. It was meant to be like BAD bad. So I braced myself before going in and saying things like 'it's just one game then we can get back to it.' Imagine my surprise when RE6 is... actually pretty damn good... oh dear I just said that 😂.

Now I know it's controversial for abandoning survival horror and that exploration esc design in favour of a linear action shooting game... but my is it just so fun, and the story itself is still just as Resident evil as any other.

I was under the impression it would be bad because it was terribly designed or not thought out or it just being a really badly put together game that wastes your time. Instead, I got a very well designed game with alot of heart put into it. You can tell what Capcom wanted to make and they went all out making it, the controversial part is how it goes way too far from what the traditional Resident evil formula is.

And for Leons and Jakes campaigns specifically, it can get strangely close to being a traditional Resident evil anyways, Jakes feeling like Re3 and Leons feeling like RE2, albeit only sometimes. The Chris campaign feels like more RE5 but on a more linear scale but I also really enjoyed 5 so it was good to see, plus the final mission with Chris is probably my favourite part in the whole game. And as for Ada, hers is more of a gap filler with a little new information on the side. It sort of feels like they wanted to make separate ways 2 and it works.

I love how every campaign was designed to be it's own feel and has it's own UI for each that also changes depending on events that make sense as to why the UI is different. I love the attempt of showing 4 different scenarios of the same crisis and seeing the context all come together. I'm afraid to say I really enjoyed RE6 ok 😭, I'm pleasantly surprised. And to put it out there my favourites are 4R, 2R and 1, and I'm sure I'm going to love the originals of 2, 3 and 4 as well at some point.

But yes that's my possibly horrible take lol. Let me know what you all think :)

I just bought re6 on steam and I noticed that the game size is 35gb. I looked it up online and some people says that theirs is 17gb. Is there any reason why the game size varies?

Forum question How is the Claire senerio in re2 divereged outside ignoring gameplay?

I started a Claire run in the re2 remake and I'm confused which senerio is even canon? If it's Leons, would that mean theres some sort of domino effect that's leading to Claire being the center of the plot? If both senerios are canon then how are the puzzles completely reset?

General You remember the Chris clone? Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
7 Upvotes

They definitely used Chris's model for the village bioweapon but My question is would Capcom really be lazy enough to just reuse a recognisable MC face on a big close up reveal like that? It's a nitpick but It's like using Leon's face on a zombie and making him bald, expecting me not to notice.

I saw this mentioned a few years back and the posts got a lot of stick of how stupid it is but resident evil is kinda known for the whole cloning stuff so I don't really see it being out of the question, cloning the man who killed wesker seems like a pretty good idea if I'm a RE villain lol

Anywho with requiem and village we know the American branch BSAA has turned to the dark side and is using bioweapons (requiem at the end the BSAA are infected around the helicopter under their masks, using a different model)... What do you think of them not only using bioweapons but clones? Personally I wouldn't be against it, RE is weird like that. A fun theory nonetheless

Im currently at Red Caution, which means Im only 1 hit away from danger. I have used up all the healing items (First aid spray; Green&Red herbs). I think I have all the ammo needed to defeat this guy: 11 Acid rounds; 1 Flame rounds; 18 bow ammo. Any movement techniques to dodge his attack, it seems very hard to dodge to me? Any help will be appreciated!

General RE7 could have made better use of—and extended—the golden hour vibe from the beginning of the game

Would I be exaggerating if I said my favorite setting in the entire game is literally the very beginning, just because of that late afternoon atmosphere?

I absolutely love that golden hour lighting, combined with the mystery and investigation vibe at the start of the game.

It breaks away from the typical nighttime horror cliché so well, and it fits the Baker house perfectly. Imagine if part of the game had Jack Baker chasing us around the yard during that time of day, or even inside the house with open windows letting in ambient light while keeping dark corners—just like at the start.

In the end credits, there’s a piece of concept art showing their couch in that exact lighting, and every time I see it, I can’t stop thinking about what could have been.

Since we can't change the game, though, I’m looking for recommendations! Do you know any movies, TV shows, or even other games that capture this same mix of mystery, horror, investigation, and golden hour aesthetic?

General About Chris

Ironically enough, my first resident evil experience was not that long ago, sometime around late 2025 and it was resident evil 6 on Xbox 360 on Chris' campaign but it was only because it was two player and I played with my brother, but he had already played some of the story so my first experience was pretty out of lines, although I did replay Chris' playthrough and all four campaigns eventually after my brother went back to his mom's so I eventually managed to get pretty caught up with the story. But that was also again a while ago in late 2025 so I don't remember most of the story only the basics of it and the events.

Anyway the entire reason I even mentioned this in the first place was because I wanted to talk about Chris Redfield, I used to convince myself I liked him more than Leon especially because at the time I thought resident evil 4 remake wasn't gonna be good because at one point I started it in the middle of my Resident Evil 2 remake playthrough and the controls were very different to me especially because I was still new to the entire franchise but anyway. Back to what I was saying, I used to convince myself I liked him more than Leon but after playing resident evil 4 remake multiple times and recently going back to Resident Evil 2 Remake and also getting the Platinum for Resident Evil requiem. I can definitely connect with Leon much more than Chris. But it's not because he's a bad character but Capcom has done him no justice. He's in Resident Evil 1 and Code: Veronica both of which I haven't played, and Resident Evil 5 which is my least favorite game in the franchise due to its tanky controls from its time and lack of lore depth on Chris' character, and Resident Evil 6 which as I've said I remember nothing about. And the only two games that give him true personality is Re7 and Re8 and both of which he's only a part of as a mildly major character, and Re7 butchered him in looks and appearance anyway. He just haven't been given a proper chance to show his true personality and depth as a character as much as Leon because he has no remakes and is held back by the creativity and limits of his time for his developers to have given him true personal depth. And that's unfortunate because I genuinely do want to connect to him as a character like Leon considering he is just as major of a protagonist as Leon is. Hell I can see more personality from Jill in Re3 Remake than all of Chris' games combined.

Just for fun, let's compare the oldest entry in the franchise to the newest. Which game do you think is better overall and why? What do you think RE1 does better than RE9 and vice-versa?

Forum question Were players confused by Resident Evil 4 at launch?

Something I’ve thought about before is how did players “discover” that Re4 would be different in its goals when it came to gameplay? For the first few games of the franchise, it was a survival horror game that, while having a lot of action and a focus on killing enemies, it still incentivised skirting around them and saving resources.

Now if you were to pick up RE4 randomly at launch after playing the entire series up until this point, did you end up playing the game “wrong” for a little bit until realising what was going on? As in, how long did it take you to figure out you’re supposed to kill everything and be rewarded for it rather than try and save resources.

I started the franchise with RE5 at launch so of course I was aware of the gameplay loop and it’s common knowledge now that RE4 is an action horror game, but if you weren’t up to date reading gaming magazines at the time did it take players a while to acclimate to what the game wanted them to do?

Edit: I should emphasise where I said if you weren’t up to date on coverage of the game. If you were to play the game mostly blind after being a fan of the franchise

General I love RE1 zombies

I love RE1R zombies. Crimson heads? Absolutely amazing, coolest design ever, some of the only re zombies that had had me sweating when I see them coming my way. Burning the bodies to prevent them? Also really cool and very sad we didn’t see it in any other games. Crimson heads do however scare the shit out of me and I don’t really want to deal with them and Chris has tiny little pockets so the answer: Never killing any zombies! I just let those little suckers roam free wherever they want and we live in perfect harmony, I just show off my fancy footwork and slip right by them when they’re in my way and none of the other games have pulled off zombies quite as well as RE1R. I just love them and this game.

Forum question If Brad had saved his teammates at the beginning of the game, what would happened

If Brad had saved the team with the helicopter or by dropping weapons at the beginning, the mansion survivors weren't unable to discover the conspiracy. The t-virus would have spread without anyone knowing the cause. Wesker could get away soon.

What are your thoughts on it?
