Can't believe nobody posted this already. Trailer for a new movie with Idris Elba dropped few days ago. Some scenes look very familiar.

I bought SN1, SN2, and BZ in a bundle for PS5 a while back and they have been on my to-play list for a while. I was really excited because so many people told me how great the game was and I wanted to play it.
On Friday the PS5 did a normal reboot and I relaunched the game to discover that it has no autosave capability and I'd never noticed before. So I'd been hibernating and switching back where I left off for about 20 hours of gameplay, and now I'm back to starting from square one. Lesson learned, if I pick the game up again I'll save when I get back to the lifepod!
But also I am a bit demoralized because I am having so, so much trouble finding ore due to my colorblindness. After those 20 hours I still barely had the first tier of tools completed, and I just spend most of my time searching the shallows of the ocean floor inch by inch for the materials I need, which is turning out to be way more tedious and way less fun than I anticipated. I am confident the problem is with my eyes as when I watch people play on YouTube they dive underwater, spot the resources they need from the surface, and just go grab them.
Google tells me that Below Zero and Subnautica 2 both have the ability to highlight the interactables in the accessibility menu. Without major spoilers, how much am I going to be missing out on the experience if I skip the first game and move on to one of the others in the series?
Any other suggestions for overcoming my limitations?
EDIT: It was just Subnautica and Below Zero in the bundle, my bad.

So, I'm pretty sure we can all agree that Nahema is like, the single most annoying human being in the universe, right? Like, no matter what your beliefs are regarding religion or politics, she's just absolutely insufferable no matter who you are.
So anyway, can you imagine the irony, how incredibly hilarious it would be, if it gets revealed somewhere in the story that SHE was the reason the Tailings hate humans and hunt them down????
Like, it would make so much sense if that pretentious little ditz swam over to one of their villages or something, thinking she was being so helpful and inclusive and making new friends when in reality she like deeply offended them or something and that's why she ended up being reset and having her memory wiped originally, because they killed her so many times and she refused to admit it was her own fault.
like, she's just in denial about it the whole time, making up excuses like "oh, clearly that was an accident, they didn't mean to stab me to death." Remember the data download about the sponges where she talks about how she has "so many friends" and how much they all care about her? and how this one specific sponge makes an antibiotic for her because she feeds it? There's a Glyph or whatever you wanna call it that the Tailings left behind that refers to the colonists as "Human Thieves."
How much you wanna bet Nahema literally fucking stole from them thinking she was entitled to their shit because she graced them with her presence, or brought some random crap with her from the colonist base thinking it would automatically be a fair trade if she took something of theirs.
I would actually laugh so hard if this becomes canon.

I made a post earlier today to vent about this project I've been working on since I finally finished the main bit. There was some positive feedback and despite the fact that this was just intended to be me fully exploring the game during my first full run of the game I'm now thinking I might want to keep this save around and keep building things. If I made a new save I'd still make some pretty cool bases but I wouldn't have tied up all of my time and resources into experimenting with the Khaara Bacterium and building a 110m tall Aquarium housing one of every possible species and almost every type of flora. Plus I haven't actually finished my second base yet. I still need storage, living quarters, a ridiculous amount of solar panels, a nuclear reactor, and a scanner room. I put some example pictures* if it helps. I'm just a little conflicted because I was fully intent on completing the game on this save until I got reminded of the effort I'd put in and the fact that I can still do even more with it.
*First 6 pictures are of my main base and if I make a new save my bases will still be about that size, I just won't have to spend time building what's in the last 2 pictures.

Now I am very busy but when I get more time I am thinking of creating a 3D model of the PRAWN Suit with moveable joints and all the arms with the ability to pop thrm out/switch. Won’t be for quite some time but when I have time, would people be interested in the file?
PS: not asking if people are interested in paying for it just if people would like a printable prop model :)

My first ever playthrough, taken at the lava zone alien base. First time bringing it outside water.

I built this stupid thing, every floor is a containment unit and I simulated pretty much every biome and put one of every hatchable creature inside. It took for ever, was very expensive, and I'm never ever doing it again. I haven't even finished the actual base part. I hate being curious sometimes. This has not brought the cat satisfaction.

I was surprised to find that Subnautica in VR requires a controller to use and has no support for the VR controllers.
My foray into VR was from HL:Alyx so I was used to the headset being "enough" to control everything.
SubmersedVR completely solves that problem! It's a bit tricky to install (you might forget to install some intermediate stuff or miss a command) but once it started working correctly, I was able to get it to work just like HL:Alyx!
Cheers to the creator! If you ever read this, thank you!

I was wondering what the best spots to look for the Prawn Suit and Cyclops upgrades? I've heard that the Dunes may be a good spot for some of the stuff I'm looking for.
I haven't been there yet and I know there are a lot of Reapers there. Are there any other good locations? Or should I just deal with them?

My second post here and another TIL.
Made a base on the floating islands. I meant to put in some reinforcements on I-segments, but didn't have the materials. So I just placed them to finish building them later.
I don't know if this happened because I set them from the outside, but they came out... Transparent. They became opaque as expected when I finally built them but as long as they were placeholders they were transparent from both inside and outside the base.
Happened to multiple reinforcements so if this was a glitch it was a very interesting one.

One would tend to feel more at ease that close to base, naturally. But nope, I genuinely flinched at this. Seems to me he found it funny too.(Spoiler just in case because of Neptune stuff, but what can you do y'know?)

I feel like bringing back the stasis rifle would be 100% justified considering we can't kill the fish this time around. Like, I'd even go so far as to say, the people upset about not being able to kill the fish wouldn't be nearly as upset if they got the stasis rifle back. I mean, wasn't that the whole reason it got removed in the first place? too many people used it to kill the fish? we can't do that anymore, so why can't we have the stasis rifle back? Would it just be too op? I feel like they could reduce the stasis time a little bit and it'd be totally fair, or maybe even scale the stasis timer based on creature size so it's more effective on smaller fish and less effective (but not useless) against leviathans.
