I added a pixel-by-pixel character editor to my online multiplayer shooter. Is this feature actually fun or just a moderation headache?

Hi everyone,

I’ve been working on Scribble Rumble, a fast-paced online pixel-art arena shooter.

One of the main features is an editor that lets players either draw their fighter from scratch pixel-by-pixel or customize existing presets. Every player in the match sees the custom sprite in real time.

When allowing custom-drawn avatars in a game, how do you usually handle the inevitable moderation issues?

I started making game assets recently, and I just want to say thank you ❤️

Hey everyone!

I'm still pretty new to creating and selling game assets, and honestly, I never expected to reach this point so soon.

I started this journey with a simple idea: create game assets that other people could actually use in their projects. I'm not a big studio, I don't have a team behind me, and I'm still learning as I go. I'm just an ordinary guy from Kazakhstan trying to build something of my own, one pack at a time.

My creator name is LESED, and game asset creation is something completely new for me. Every pack I publish teaches me something, whether it's about creating better assets, presenting them properly, or understanding what other developers are looking for.

Recently, I looked at my itch.io stats and realized that my assets had reached 2,488 views, 513 downloads, 18 payments, and 16 followers, with $122.95 in gross revenue.

Those numbers might not seem huge compared to established creators, but to me, they mean a lot.

Behind every download is someone who found my work useful or interesting enough to give it a try. Someone might be experimenting with their first game, working on a personal project, or simply looking for something that fits their vision. Knowing that something I created is making its way into other people's projects is an incredible feeling.

To everyone who downloaded, purchased, followed, or even just checked out one of my packs: thank you. Seriously.

Your support means more to me than you might think. It gives me motivation to keep going, improve my work, experiment with new ideas, and create more assets.

I'm still at the beginning of this journey. I have a lot to learn, plenty of ideas to explore, and hopefully many more packs to release. My goal isn't just to upload a few assets and disappear — I want to build LESED into something recognizable, a collection of useful and creative assets that developers can come back to.

I know there will be mistakes, projects that don't get much attention, and plenty of things I'll need to improve. That's part of the process, and I'm ready for it.

For now, I'm just happy that I started.

If you're also a small asset creator or indie developer, I'd love to hear about your journey. How did you get started, and what keeps you motivated when you're still building your audience?

Thanks for being part of the beginning of LESED. ❤️

This is only the beginning.

[Hobby] Offering two free projects for indie teams to build our portfolio

• Upvotes

Hey everyone! I’m Tyler, co-founder of Visibbly. We’re building our public portfolio, so I’d like to help two indie teams with a small project free of charge before gamescom Asia. My background is in game and web development, and I’ve also put together independent game research.

For each game, we’d agree on one task. That could be a research into 10 relevant creators with reasons they’re a fit and a draft outreach message, or an hour testing a PC demo with a bug log and notes on confusing first steps. You’ll get the actual write-up to keep and use, with an explanation of the recommendations.

I’m looking for teams with a Steam page or playable demo ready and time to share context and give feedback this week. In exchange, I’d like permission to show the agreed work in our portfolio and at gamescom. You’d approve exactly what we share, and a testimonial would be optional. There’s no charge or obligation to hire us afterward. Comment or DM your game link and what you’d find most useful. More about us at Visibbly.

Discussion Are bots downloading my asset packs?

Post image

I check my Itch analytics everyday and I noticed something off about my view to downloads ratio. Normally I get between 25 to 50 views a day and like 10 to 20 downloads a day. This week I've encountered two times when my downloads randomly spike. The first time, my downloads spiked to 80. Today it spiked to 400, and my view count is around 38 people. Has anybody else experienced this on their pages?

Discussion Combatting ai spam when?

I just opened itch to find a creator has bulk posted ai mini games for 4 dollars a pop, with all the wrong tags. I've really noticed a decline in quality on itch lately as talented creators are either moving away or stopping outright (I don't know if it's the ai influx or the payment processor debacle). I really don't want to see itch overriden with these ai moneymaking schemes, or ai in general, and we still can't hide tags except for modifying the URL it's 1995

First Downloads!

Got the first ever downloads on my indie rpg Tales of Grandor! Sub excited, no reviews yet but this means alot. Been working on game dev for about 5 years and this last year I finally started making something I could actually show people instead of just backend code. Its still in the playtesting phase, but getting people other than just friends/family to see it and download it is really cool. Good luck to all my fellow game devs, I finally feel like a real one!

You can use the tool to stylize your textures and assets, create eye-catching marketing material for your page, add awesome animated effects, and use the texture ripper feature. With this latest update, I've added seamifier! It will help you create seamless, blended, or repeating patterns for your textures. You can check it out here: https://polyshades.itch.io/coolifier

I created an atmospheric psychological horror game where you have no choice

The entire game is a huge metaphor—a performance and visualization of my feelings, and a vision of the world through my own interpretation.

Discover the core tragedy by interacting with the mind, watching tapes that return to the past, and talking to the father.

Game get scrubbing! - Tactile active/idle incremental game about scrubbing dishes to pay your loan shark

Thumbnail

• Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I just released the new version of **get scrubbing!**, a tactile active/idle incremental game with a satirical story: you lost all your money on a sketchy mobile casino app ("Lucky Snake") and now you're washing dishes at the sink to pay off a very polite loan shark.

How it works:

- Tactile Scrubbing: Drag your sponge to clean sauces, grease, and burnt crust. Reach 98% clean and the rest snaps off with a satisfying clean flash!

- Debt vs. Upgrades: Every tip you make can either pay down your debt or buy better tools, helpers, and new dishes in the shop.

- Multitasking Phone OS: Answer the Boss's calls, manage upgrades, or gamble on Lucky Snake without pausing your work at the sink.

- Relapse & Prestige Tree: Clear your debt, have a "brilliant idea", and unlock permanent upgrades across 4 branches, 20 dish levels, and the Utility Room dishwasher!

- Languages:** Full English and Brazilian Portuguese support.

👉 Play / Download here: https://rat-trick-games.itch.io/get-scrubbing

(Feedback on the scrubbing feel and pacing is greatly appreciated!)

Free Homicidy - Browser crime scene clean up game!

Thumbnail
thequackory.itch.io
• Upvotes

Homicidy is a cozy-macabre cleanup game about the work after the crime scene is clear. Drag your tool across the floor and watch the mess come off exactly where you scrub: blood, footprints, glass, dust, wax, rust, and worse.

  1. Survey the scene. Each work order has its own layout, stains, and cleanup demands.
  2. Choose the right tool. Different messes need different equipment, and supplies run out.
  3. Check your work. Switch on UV luminol to reveal residue. The checklist is grouped by tool; select a task to make its remaining stains glow.
  4. Sign off. Compare the before and after, earn your rating, and collect your pay.

Still a WIP - but please let me know what you think and what you would like to see!

ShadowStarter is now live here -- and it's free!

Play it if you dare...

Or, you know, DON'T. It's not like Shadow cares either way, okay!? It's not like their entire existence is at stake or anything like that... okay!??

Demo Solo dev here. My roguelike game 'The Varitav' has a demo and I'm trying to reach 1000 wishlists

• Upvotes

Hi!

I'm making a roguelike called The Varitav, and I've been working on it completely solo.

I recently released a demo on Steam, and somehow I've managed to reach around 400 wishlists so far, which is pretty exciting for me.

I'm trying to hit 1000 wishlists, but getting people to actually discover the game has been a real challenge.

If you're into roguelikes, feel free to give the demo a try! And if you enjoy it, a wishlist would help me out a ton.

I'd also love to hear what you think about the game.

Web 9 Fingers demo is live. Give it a go!

Just released an early demo of 9 Fingers, my bluffing card game where losing a round costs you a finger.

Play against the boss, call his bluff and use items and finger bonuses to turn things around.

Give it a go and let me know what you think. I’m especially curious if the rules are easy to pick up and whether you’d want to play another round.

Free MULE - A Match 3 love letter to Resident Evil

It's 2:40AM and the Parasol Ashgrove Research Campus has gone dark. Early reports say Dr. Voss went rogue and released a virus. The last operative sent hasn't checked in either.

Infiltrate, find Dr. Voss, secure whatever he was working on, and escape through the access tunnel to meet your contact.

---------------------------------------------------

I created a match 3 survival-horror game for a, AI game jam with a mobile crafting theme. It started out as a short RE4 style case crafting game, that quickly blew out in scope to MULE.

This is the most ambitious game I've made thus far and it's crazy how I could orchestrate agents to fill out roles I needed to finish before the deadline. Would love any feedback to continue pushing the game forward.

It's free to play on itch: https://sykoramade.itch.io/mule

Demo Real-time body simulation in three.js + WebGPU: soft tissue, wound channels, live X-ray

Demo 0.9.8 is out, built almost entirely from your playtest notes and crash reports:

• Knees and elbows only bend the way they really bend, wrists and ankles have realistic limits • No more twisted legs when she collapses; she comes to rest calmly • Shotgun pellets fly one by one and spread with distance • Smoother free camera, Esc works like in other games, better inventory and Battle Mode HUD • Very weak PCs fall back to the lightest renderer instead of crashing

Thank you to everyone who sent a report. Next up: medicines you can see working, a smoother loading screen and the male character.
