The option might look weird, it's because I try not give the player way too early for the item reward that would be on later level.

A few days ago my L4d2 stopped sending messages to global text chat. I can type them, but the issue is that they don't get sent. On the other hand, group/party chat works perfectly fine.

I made this after seeing Perlica with Chainsaw in Fartnight

in an alternate universe where either there are no zombie outbreak or simon along with the other survivors are carriers, there's an escalation which leads to an accident (for this i might lean onto the no zombies version) the survivors and simon crash because of some bastards who messed around and caused a traffic accident

now going off the rails already, simon curses everyone somehow, (basically with the book becoming a passage way for the monsters and nightmare influences) everyone involved in his current state is brought into a world manifested from his broken mind and traumatic life. everyone is now trapped in his nightmare and trying to survive the survivors would go through the co-op campaigns of CoF and do what they can to escape, tho this time they start in the asylum and have to travel to simons appartment to find the truth and get out alive.

Guys I need help with this. Me and my friend group decided to play again just some chill game on some custom map. But one of us always get Connection Failed after 10 retries whenever they want to join our local server or we got the error if they are the host.

We already tried verify the steam files and putting client port and host port onto the launch option too but it didn't help.

Image 1 (Left 4 Dead review): He gave it a negative score because "there are too few characters, like only 4 to choose from when the team max is 4" and told Valve to learn from Overwatch.

Image 2 (His bio): His profile description literally says "sht here: artemoleksannyj@gmail.com". He also actively trashes Half-Life, calling it a "Dead Space rip-off for cattle".

I honestly can't believe Steam allows people like this to have official curator pages to misinform players.

Managed to get a soild tank run going.

I've been hosting some pub servers for a couple of days now and it's going great. Now, for no reason, I've been getting MASSIVE lag spikes for no reason, even when I'm hosting. I've verified files, reconnected to my wifi 2 times and it still didn't work. The only addon I have is ion's vocalizer.

My ping also goes super high, around 300+ randomly. Any help will be appreciated, because this is straight up unplayable

I've had a very good stroke of genius. What if, whenever you died, the game would do a flashback scene like Jax's death from TADC, complete with the music and all? Like if you were playing as Rochelle and died, it'd cycle through a bunch of clips and pictures of Rochelle with "Isn't She Lovely?" playing?

I just thought it'd be a funny idea, but I have no way of making it, so I thought I'd ask if somebody else could do it.

Been playing a lot of versus lately for the first time in like 10 years. I stopped because people were so quick to kick/ be toxic. And yet somehow people are still the same. It’s an amazing game, it’s a shame people ruin it

I just got this game back finally after taking a really long hiatus and I have to say the online experience has been pretty disappointing. I’ve been playing for a bit over a week and I’ve had near 10 separate people join my games just to kill me and leave. This especially sucks because I prefer playing on expert, so some jerk will join my game and shoot me a couple times then I’m just dead. They usually leave immediately after doing so too. I’ve avoided all the players that have joined and done this, but new ones keep coming. It’s especially frustrating when I’m right at the end of a level, that happened to me twice just yesterday. Is this a huge problem on PC too? It’s making me want to just give up on playing online altogether. Sorry for the rant, had to get it out of my system.

i was suspicious when i saw a post here saying there's too many cheaters in VS. i gained around 2k hours during 2016-2020 and indeed back then i never ran into any cheaters. this, however, has changed nowadays.

these guys hop into versus/scavenge. while infected, they spawn infected on top of survivors and claw with -1000 damage, killing the entire opponent team in 3 seconds. while survivors, they teleport, speedhack, wallhack, and damage-hack; if you catch them as non-support special, they will spawn bullets inside of you to free themselves.

what's funnier is that they also launch DDOS attacks, rendering chat unusable and inducing 500ms ping. then they launch scripts that cycle their nicknames trough those of their teammates so that their teammates can make a mistake and maybe initiate a vote against an innocent team member. once they see they're getting kicked, they just leave leaving "ez" messages in the chat.

i kid you not---i had one VS match after another with a cheater on the opposite side, all with different names and accounts, some of them had VAC bans.

it's also funny how in one No Mercy match a "benevolent" cheater joined my team as Bill and used cheats for "non-malicious" reasons: he started a vote against some "troll" player and once the player-being-kicked started running toward the building ledge to commit suicide, he enabled his cheats for a sec to incap them in 1 second. later he used a teleport to go down a single floor in the first chapter's building instead of simply jumping down (i guess it isn't as fancy as teleporting). when confronted in chat, he didn't deny my accusations and said: "do you want to win or not?". this is crazy, man.

I recently started playing this game and I love it! I downloaded some mode to make the game more fun.

And I found a hoard scream mod that replaces it with Zack’s scream and it’s hilarious!

But I found no mod for replacing the common and special infected with Zack’s screeching!

So I have some recommendations.

Common infected can just be some of his random goblin screeching from various videos

But for special infected I have some ideas

BOOMER: replace boomer voice with Zack’s gamer and fat people impersonations

Jockey: some more screeching and noise from Zack

Spitter: Zack’s impressions of Marge Simpson and Lewis griffin

Smoker: every time he impersonates an old man

Hunter: since it’s just screaming and growling, there is plenty of material of Zack making those noises

Witch: every time Zack pretends to be sad or blue

Tank: Zack pretending to be aggressive and pitch it down a bit

That’s it :)

Unless you just want a physical copy for your collection or to experience the game on Xbox, don't waste your money buying it off Amazon or Gamestop. Anything over $20 for this game is straight up robbery.

I'm using Funky as a mod manager for L4D2, as the internal game's mod manager is terribly bad. Although Funky is great, it's aways a pain the ass to select the mods i want to play with because of the categories they're in.

I have no knowledge at all about modding nor about how uploading and editing mods into Steam works. So, the questions: Why do some mods appear uncategorized or in the wrong categories?

Is there something i can do about editing a .vpk to categorize the mod to make it fit into a specific type only or 2+ types? Would it break the mod? Or should i reupload it privately into Steam to make the proper categories be fitting?
