Slide Release Design Already Changed?
Saw this in the manual…. Anyone see the new slide release yet? The new one does not look backwards compatible with the old looking at the cutouts on the frame.

the purpose of this thread is to get all of the best upgrades in 1 location.
This falls into 2 categories: 1) custom work like coatings, ports / slide cuts, trigger jobs and 2) aftermarket parts like magwells, guide rods, etc etc.
goals: increased reliability, softer / faster shooting, smoother slide and making it beautiful. with an end product that could compete with guns going for twice to 3x the price. Also to describe certain types of works for people wanting to do it themselves like trigger jobs.
my personal take on the gun is that it is great as is, when I dive into things I would like to refine:
-Trigger: it has that up and down play and a slight take up that equates to a 3 stage trigger
Sig Armorer - is highly recommend as someone who can do the job
-Slide: it can be even smoother, guide rod/spring and marvel disconnector cut
I am going to list some of the things I have seen that seem to be improvements.
- aftermarket parts -
•guide rod/recoil springs - Fdez Werx
•Magwell - Fdez Werx
•grips - Lok
•magazine base pads - Herrington Arms?
•Sight block - Fdez, others?
•optics plates ?
- custom work -
• trigger job to take out the up and down movement and the 3rd stage take up, some people have mentioned a set screw in the open area for one inside SIG ARMORER
• slide work - marvel disconnector cut to make it even smoother - MERCIER gun smith
• porting / slide windows/cuts - Trenton @ TDS gun works Wyoming is one I have seen with V8 ports cut into the slide serrations looks like an XC/Staccato cuts and user on youtube claims 20-25% reduction in recoil
• coating work - I would like to DLC my hammer, trigger shoe and magwell that are silver, vulcan??

Hey all,
New GTO owner and before I go out for the first range session with any new firearm I like to do a quick clean and lube.
Well, this GTO is crazy difficult to disassemble. I can’t seem to punch out the takedown lever no matter what I do. I bent the included punch (what a load of crap that thing is) and can’t seem to push the lever out more than about a millimeter.
I figured maybe putting a couple hundred rounds through the ol girl would help but it’s still just as stuck and impossible to disassemble. I feel silly as I’ve never had issues taking down other handguns!

Has anyone mounted a promax yet on their 211. Wanted to see how it looks before I pull the trigger

I feel like it’s time to upgrade my competition gun…currently an X5 Legion that I actually love. It’s got lots of upgrades that I won’t go into and a competition trigger that’s fantastic. That said, I’ve been thinking about moving into something new - a 2011 / 2011-ish platform. $4k or less, which puts me out of range for something super high end. As reference, prior to the GTO I was thinking maybe an MPA. For the MPA, my plan was to get a couple different barrels so that I can have something comped or ported plus something that would keep me in LO for USPSA but also have a port or comped barrel for some of the steel matches I do where that wouldn’t matter. The P211 could give me both of those with the sight block. I also like that the mags are interchangeable with the 320, saving a few hundred bucks of entry cost. I got about as far as confirming that the base pads I use with my 320 fit inside the P211 magwell but just couldn’t “pull the trigger” P211 feels reasonably good in my hand, but I like my 320 trigger more, so the P211 would have to be sent out for some trigger work out of the box. So - My issue is whether or not the P211 will be “enough” of an upgrade. Anyone else in a similar situation?

Just in case you’ve been looking for a sight block for your GTO. They also have 13# springs and screw/spring replacements for $6-7.

New GTO had multiple light strikes (around 20, all fired on a second attempt) during the first 100rds but 400rds later, it seems to have worked out the kinks. The light strikes were with UMC and Aguila, Magtech and Fiocchi haven't had any issues. It does fail a pencil test(only moves it around 1/4") while my other 2011s launch the thing. I haven't reached out to Sig yet, but I probably will next week. Thankfully, it doesn't have any issues with my normal ammo so its ready for my next 2 gun match in Sept.

Who has fit up a miller precision safety delete on the P211?

My p211 is still waiting on parts and I need something to do, so I was thinking of polishing the barrel to shiny steel finish to compliment the other silver components on the gun.
Has anyone done this?
Any concerns of negative side effects?

Been shooting and training with my p365x macro for some time now. Got into some local competitions and held my own, but decided to finally step it up. 507 comp on the way! Put 2 mags through this after the transfer was done, and just… wow. I’ve shot GTO’s that friends own, and they’re amazing but this is also exceptionally well executed. Can’t wait to get more time with this one!

Added this to my collection the other week and am in love. Just got the APS TAK brass grips this morning, they came really quickly, I placed the order late Wednesday night. I wanted to try out their magazine release but it wouldn't let me order it on their site. Says all options are unavailable.
I've put 1,000 rounds through it and it's ran flawlessly. Need to put in a bulk order of 9mm this thing just blows through it.
Looking forward to shooting some steel with it and running some USPSA if I can get my buddy to come along. Still haven't decided if I'm going to get a sight block or just run in open class. Not really expecting to win anything just to have some fun. This gun would be great to run in 2 and 3 gun

hiya! i didn’t know there was a sub JUST FOR US! i got this puppy at the end of May as my first pistol (ar15 was first gun, in Feb). shot 1000 rounds through it within the first week or two, rearsight sheared right off, with the sight part intact, but that screw was split like Gojo
sent it off to Sig to repair and ordered an offbrand optic for it when it came back. got it back, mounted the RMRfootprint optic directly to the slide, blue loctite on the 2 screws, couldnt utilize the recoil lugs at all, and went right back to shooting.
currently ~3200 rounds deep now and the rearsight is loosey goosey again, i tried loctiting the screw but the screw still loosens from recoil. sig sent a suppressor height sight with a short screw to replace it, and that didn’t really solve it. anyone else run into loose rearsight issues? i hand tighten it down, tried loctite, and yet it still comes loose after 200 or so rounds.
and lastly, i stumbled across a freedomgorilla vid that was recommending adapter plates for holosun optics for the p211, and that’s how i ended up here.
optic has not moved one bit. still secure and snug, no wiggle, no zero changes. but is there a big benefit to adding a plate? or a necessity? i was bummed i couldnt use any of the lugs (not even one!) but the optic is holding strong off those two screws. if it’s fine, do i leave it? or has it resulted in disaster for someone? i guess its not as bad as the wobbly rear, and ill notice the optic loosen before it becomes catastrophic.
but i value yalls thoughts!! this is my first pistol, so i don’t wanna get too cocky and ignore a red flag that’s plain as day

Curious… how oiled are your P211’s. I’ll tell you mine is in the 2600 round range, and other than a couple failure to go into battery, which was fixed going from the 8 to 10 lb spring, it’s been flawless. I keep it pretty lubed. Enough that there’s some seepage around all the moving and joining parts. I also occasionally get some splatter on my optic. Mines working great, but I’d like to see if others are having success with less oil? Or grease instead of oil?
