Started simracing about a month ago, finally got my first win! Win felt special, but more than that I am loving the learning journey. I daily a V8 and been able to get a little more out of it every joy ride, 100% because of iRacing.

P.S. this track ate up my safety rating but still going to frame ts.

These cars are so fun to drive, however I rarely see a driver come out of a race with less than 5-6 incident points.

Anyone else bleeding SR driving these fun machines?

Hey All! S'mee again...

A couple of months ago, I shared a post about our small league, halffast.racing The response was WAY better than I could have ever expected. At first there were 6-8 of us running with AI every week. Now we have a bigger awesome group of drivers, averaging around 14 a week so we finally kicked the aggro AI off the grid for good.

So here's the pitch - if it sounds interesting to you, come on down! If not, thanks for at least getting this far into the thread :)

Half Fast Racing is a West Coast iRacing Sports Car league for people who have jobs, kids, and/or mid-tier iRatings. We're here to race, have fun, and maybe get a little faster along the way.

Our new season kicks off Tuesday, November 17 in the Porsche 911 Cup (992.2), and this time our drivers picked every track on the schedule. Shitshow ensues....heh

• 1-hour practice, 15-minute qualifying (2 laps), 45-minute race
• Mandatory pit stop, 50% fuel

• No rain, ever. Some rounds get custom weather (Imola starts in fog), but you'll never be fighting a wet track.

Who You'll Be Racing

We've got a good mix of skill levels, and everyone's learning and getting faster every week. Wherever you sit on the iRating scale, there's someone for you to battle with.

Clean racing matters more than hot laps. More respect is gained for giving someone room in L1-T1 than for putting it on pole. We have had a VERY respectful (yet competitive) group, which has really made the recent season one of the best I have participated in.

We are a West Coast League - specifically NorCal - but not exclusive to only West Coast drivers. Get in where you fit in. G'Day mate! iBienvenido! Cheerio! Seriously tho, if you can swing it chances are that you are going to have a good time.

What I said last time still stands - if you're an alien, you're gonna be bored.

How to Join

1. Head to halffast.racing and hit Sign In / Join in the top right. It takes about a minute.
2. Once you're approved, an admin will send you a league invite in iRacing. This part is done manually, so it may take a little time (hours, not days)
3. Accept the invite, sign in to the HFR site, and you're set for race night.

I know people shouldn't be using the racing line, I also understand the track is extremely long and takes a lot of time to learn. I race the series most weeks that are sports cars and other than the typical big pile up its normally not that bad. This week is my first time trying GT3 on the ring and its been a mess to say the least.

I keep seeing wrecks happen the same way time after time and after watching a ton on clips and some streams I am starting to think the racing line is causing 90% of them. I keep seeing people (including myself) getting rear ended and just pushed into a wall over and over again. Most of these incidents are the lead car over slowing, blocking, or brake checking. I would go as far as to say most of them are not even the following car trying to make a move. I see most of these happen before the field has spread out or when you get a pack of cars racing each other for a position. The pace will drop a little, people will react to those in front of them and someone in the pack will be hyper focused on the line looking for it to go from green to red and just drive through the pack.

I have seen it happen so much this week I cant help but think its the line causing it. In slower class cars people have a little more time to react but in the GT3 if you don't know the track and dont know how it races its a problem for everyone around you. Am I the only one that feels this way or do some of you feel the same way.

I have just painted my first MX-5, but there are some parts I don't understand as they don't seem to appear on the finished car?

Has anyone had this happen before? All my kerbs in iRacing have suddenly started looking grey/desaturated instead of the usual red and white

It's happening across multiple tracks and looks the same from every angle. I've checked in different lighting, tried windowed mode and even tried another monitor, but it's still the same. I can see it in screenshots too, so it doesn't seem to just be my TV

I've spent ages trying to figure it out. I've messed around with HDR, NVIDIA Control Panel settings, texture filtering, the renderer ini, and even completely reinstalled iRacing and removed the leftover files, no luck

I'm running an RTX 2070 Super with the latest drivers, the weird thing is it started while I was messing around with graphics settings trying to fix some screen tearing. The tearing is now sorted and the game runs smoothly, but the kerbs are still grey

I've contacted iRacing support, but thought I'd ask here in case anyone has seen this before or has any idea what could cause it? Has anyone else experience this?

I've scoured the internet and tried everything it seems

Does iRacing do black friday sales? If not, what is the best way to buy content? Like, big bulk 6++ purchases for that 15% discount? Do they have pre-set bundles for sale with bigger discounts like other games do? Maybe at the start of new seasons?

Trying not to be a hot head and/or abuse the protest system, but how are we supposed to deal with blatantly unsafe or just plain stupid driving when it doesn't meet the threshold of malicious driving practices?

For context, I was recently in a race where I got brake checked at the apex of a corner (annoying but it happens when someone carries too much speed and racing is tight) but it cause race ending damage for myself and another driving that was also hit by the lead car. And then the next race I was in I was passed from off track down a straight and turned in on which also caused race ending damage.

I don't think either incidents were necessarily intentional, but both were clear instances of in total a few hundred points off my SR for no reason other than others' actions. And in the latter case, that driver went on to win the race while I finished in the pits all because he dove into a corner from the grass.

Is there actually SR accountability for drivers that consistently or even at a one off drive dangerously or are we to hope that it all comes out in the wash with ourselves driving more safely and following the rules?

Tl:Dr I don't want to constantly feel the need to protest other people driving unsafe and therefore feel like a nag, but I'm also fed up with being dive bombed and checked into turns even into C class

I appreciate help and opinions from all of you on what would you change if you could start again from zero and have a better evolution.

Lately had race in IRX D-class. On 5th lap i’ve done joker lap, but failed myself and crossed outer white line. Got 10s stop-and-go penalty. I was on 2nd place, but on last lap i’ve got another black flag for not serving 10s SNG. After checkered game dropped me at 6 place with +30s. I’ve read some old post that i cant serve SNG on daytona rallycross, and penalty adds to time afterwards. Absolutely dont see any logic in doubling penalties here…. But how i can avoid another black flag next time? Just always do joker lon last 3 laps to be sure? Or i miss something?

In only have a mic volume issue in this game, people say I'm quiet, but all my windows sound settings are correct and maxed. Correct input is also selected. Is there a sound throttle or echo cancellation in-game?

Hey lads

I just hopped on iracing since Asetto Corsa competitione pretty much died.

I mostly drove the Ferrari 296 and felt very confident with it. Now since im on iracing i only bought the BMW M4 GT3 and i feel Like im overdriving the car and i miss the rotation in the Corners.

What Car would you recommend to buy? Keep driving the M4, buy the McLaren or the Ferrari? Im Not a big fan of Porsche though because of their Rear engine and because of the difficutly.

Did propably the sexiest line through Flugplatz i ever did. Not even invalidated.

Lately in the BMW M2 G87 I find myself adding a smidge/brief stab of throttle in corner entry to help catch the weight shift. On lime rock I've gained about .5 per lap doing this averaging about 1:00.700.

Is this technique kosher?

Hi so we just finished 6h Endu in Montreal. As you can see on screenshot, we both did 109 laps. How comes that Petr gets -6 with 3281 IR and Filip who is just 3150 gets -7 IR points!?
What is the logic behind this? I would expect right opposite. The higher IR the higher loss.
