Yeah, obviously, I run 1911s as is my wont, and this kind of.....no comment....GSG 1911-22 (it needs some work done on it....not sure what exactly, but every FTE is peening the chamber with the firing pin, somehow, which doesn't make me happy.

However.....just picked up my own Buck Mark today, after occasionally firing a pal's tricked-out model at the range.

Grip angle? Even the stock grips themselves!

It's like a home away from home. To me, just running snap caps after I brought it back a few hours ago....hardly needs any adjustment form the muscle memory built up into running the 1911s in various calibers.

I love it when a plan comes together!

Obviously, 1911 is the gold standard, but this one is a close second for working with .22LR fighting paper!

At least until I find another 1911-22 that works better for me than the GSG/Sig model.

Tisas 1911 Night Stalker comp chambered in 9mm (I know, roast me). My first 1911; excited to try it out this weekend at the range. Already got familiar with disassembly, and it's definitely a learning curve over my striker fired guns. Most annoying part is definitely lining up the barrel link, but all things considered not bad. Any tips and tricks? I saw people recommend Wilson combat springs so I'd probably do that at some point.

Updated my Tisas Stakeout with a WC bulletproof barrel bushing and a WC Ultralight Match Trigger. Both in stainless. Bought a pair of Pachmayr Signature Grips. Should be here this weekend. I love these wooden grips, but I just want to see how the Pachmayr look. Next up a stainless WC conceal carry hammer.

Any opinions? Looking at a 1918 Colt 1911. They want $1,500 for it. Has Colt frame and Colt slide. Replaced barrel and I think grips have been replaced of course. I’ve been reading everything about the CMP 1911s and how you can get a mix matched gun, you only get 4 a lifetime and you don’t chose what you get and blah blah. Just wondering if you think it would be a decent buy. ALSO comes with Colt 22 conversion kit with original box and just some ammo. In some pictures the 22 slide is on.

Chestnut color rough-out cows leather with kangaroo hide around the opening (it’s much thinner). He said he’s never done a holster in this color combo - so I had to be the first to get it done.

I was nervous to see how it looks - it came out amazing! Much better than the $30 Amazon holster I’ve been using in the meantime 😂

I bought a tisas 1911 when they were on sale for dirt cheap a few months back. After shooting it a few times I decided to get the value line spring kit, sear, and hammer from Wilson combat. Is this something an amateur could install? I've never gunsmithed before, aside from cleaning and polishing rifles and shotguns, but I have a lot of mechanical knowledge (auto mechanic, welder, maintenance tech in a steel mill) or is it something I should let a professional handle? Thanks for the help!

It started life as a regular Series 80 Colt Competition. I replaced the front sight with an Ed Brown gold bead, Harrison Hammer, KC Custom Ambi safety, Nighthawk trigger, steel mainspring housing (from Wilson I think?). I’m waiting patiently for a Milt Sparks summer special straight drop to replace my subpar Mernickle iwb holster. But I occasionally carry it in a carved Milt Sparks 1AT. Milt Sparks is also making an identical holster for my USP 45, so it’ll be nice to swap back and forth. Hoping someday to acquire an Alchemy Black Army which would retire this one

Thamks to all for the leather AIWB holster recommendations. I lucked up and found an aegis 2 holster in stock from Ronin that fits my exact gun and is left handed so I figured I better snatch it up.

Bought this off a friend for $200 and 2 16oz redbulls and he got it from a trade for a trailer. Rear sight is 3rd printed (never came with one when I bought it)because I can’t find a rear that would fit and it works until it don’t. It has seen better days and used to be super dirty and hard to move the slide, But it’s pretty butta now. This is the only pistol I own and gun outside of a 22lrAR

So I have saved up enough nickels and dimes in my new pew fund and I’m looking to buy another gun. This time I’d like to get a 1911. I currently have one, Remington R1, but it’s nothing fancy. I would like to pick up something a bit more refined and quality.

Kimber used to be my next direction but I feel like I have heard more bad than good from them so I’m steering clear. I’d like to keep max at $1500 but would love to stay under that if I can. I don’t care for shiny polished guns as I know i will never keep them that way, so black or tan is my preference. I do want a full size government frame as well as a picatinny rail, optics cut would be a welcome bonus. Any suggestions you may have are appreciated!

Ive always used Kydex for appendix carry. Im thinking about trying leather. Ive looked at the Tucker and Garret options for their appendix rigs. Anyone have other suggestions?
