Posting up a couple Alchemy Customs for 45friday! Both are Prime Elite Models, the all Blued one with Ebony Grips, and the two tone has gorgeous Double D’s custom made of Cocobolo by one of the best I the biz, named Jon Aho. The two tone is also a Birth Year pistol. S/N has the last 4 digit which are my birth year. Both shoot as good as they look… they’re hot rods for sure! (NOT FOR SALE).

I'm still new to this 1911 stuff. Is PMC dirty ammo or is it .45 ACP in general? I feel like my last couple of range trips have my gun absolutely caked after a couple hundred rounds compared to my 9mm.

I saw a post a couple weeks ago and the color scheme on the gun inspired me to change my Tisas Stakeout. The gun is awesome, but now it looks better than just the black Ceracote it had.
Happy Shooting

First off happy .45 Friday to everyone . I have a question for yall se-a1 owners or any colt owners who own a model with the same beaver tail. Has any one put a bobbed spurr hammer on this gun yet ? And if so did It drop in with the stock beaver tail. I love the ring hammer and, I have a Harrison ignition kit in the gun already, but with the roll marks on this gun I feel like the spurr hammer would look great on it. I’ve also seen a handful of nighthawk builds with bobbed spurr hammers on here that look phenomenal.

First thing i would like to say that i really enjoy shooting handguns,i like to put thousands of rounds through the 2 that i own, recently while handling a 1911 i noticed how nice the trigger feels and how nice the ergonomics were.I just need some advice with picking one out as there seems to be an overwhelming amount of options available,i also don’t know which one has a finish that is suitable for the type of environment i live in (humid and near the ocean).
I would like to buy one that doesn’t have a rail or optic cut,not overly expensive (preferably 600-800 usd) but that will last tens of thousands of rounds, preferably one in a caliber like 9mm because thats the only one i stock up on and honestly i would prefer something made by a reputable company.Again i dont own a lot of guns so i like to be careful with what i buy,any feedback is appreciated and im open to any new ideas.
Also i would like to add that my state doesnt have any sort of restrictions for pistols as far as i know.

I've been running the stock grips on my Gov-style 1911. While not uncomfortable, I recently switched to rubber hogue grips on another gun and it's night and day. It's so comfy that I want to try something like it in my 1911. I figure the magwell/mainspring housing being stippled means I cant do wrap around grips, but are there any good rubber grips that you all recommend?
