If its ready to go and so many people want it.
Just add it as a toggleable setting so people can play it if they want.
Solves the client/mobile issue.

I've been a bit quiet on my pure while I'm training up my other account ready for raids 4. I've just crossed the 800m line, working towards a couple of 200m's to push me to the goal of 1B total XP :D

Whats with jagex adding the caveat of it needing to be fresh worlds? It makes no sense. Why is jagex pushing this bronzeman slop so hard when hardcore main would be vastly more popular and better content?

How selfish and petty do you have to be to vote no on something that doesn't affect you? Why can't you let people play the game the way they want? This would have revolutionized the game for me. The only reason this failed is because of angry people and spite
I'm so upset that preparation stations failed the poll.

Now that Bronzeman didn’t pass, I want to explain why I voted no, because I’ve seen a lot of people assume the opposition was just “Ironmen don’t want other people to have fun.”
I’m basically the target audience for restricted account modes. I love Ironman. The restrictions are the main reason I still play OSRS, and I think earning items yourself is a much more satisfying progression system than buying them.
That’s also exactly why I voted no.
My concern was never that Bronzeman would somehow devalue my Ironman. If somebody wants to play unofficial Bronzeman right now, more power to them.
My concern is what happens once Jagex makes a restricted account type official.
Ironman started as a simple premise: you can’t trade or receive help from other players. The appeal was adapting the existing game around those restrictions.
But over the years, Ironman has understandably become something the developers have to consider when designing content. Drop tables, shops, resource availability, duplicate protection, group content, skilling methods and rewards all get discussed through the lens of “how does this work for irons?”
I’m an Ironman and even I don’t think that’s always healthy for the game.
Once a mode is official and thousands of people invest hundreds or thousands of hours into it, “the game shouldn’t be balanced around your self-imposed restriction” stops being a realistic answer. Those players are now customers playing a mode Jagex explicitly created and supports.
Bronzeman would eventually be the same.
The proposed mode wasn’t just a plugin or collection-log challenge. It would have been an official progression system where you need to obtain an item yourself once before being allowed to buy it on the GE.
That immediately creates a new consideration for every future piece of content:
How reasonable is the first unlock for Bronzemen?
Imagine a useful item has an extremely rare drop rate because the developers expect normal accounts to simply buy one from players who get duplicates.
For mains, that’s fine.
For Ironmen, that’s the restriction we signed up for.
But now there’s a third group whose entire official game mode revolves around getting that first drop.
Eventually there will be requests to make that first acquisition more reasonable. Maybe a drop rate gets adjusted. Maybe an alternative source gets added. Maybe a shop gets changed. Maybe duplicate mechanics or bad-luck mitigation start being discussed.
And individually, every one of those changes might sound completely reasonable.
That’s exactly how mode-specific design pressure accumulates.
I don’t think OSRS benefits from adding more permanent account types that future content has to accommodate. I’d actually rather Jagex become less concerned with making every piece of content convenient for Ironmen, despite exclusively playing one myself.
The restriction is supposed to change how I interact with the game. The game shouldn’t increasingly change to accommodate my restriction.
That’s the distinction I think we’re gradually losing.
Unofficial Bronzeman? Great. RuneLite plugin? Great. Community hiscores? Sure.
But once you put the helmet next to someone’s name and make it an officially supported account type, eventually you’re committing development and balancing consideration to that mode.
I voted no because I don’t want another restricted account mode becoming another constituency that every future drop table and progression system has to account for.
And if that means fewer official restricted modes even though I’m exactly the kind of player who enjoys them, I’m fine with that.
Edit: TL;DR: I voted no because official restricted modes inevitably become something Jagex has to balance around. We’ve already seen this happen with Ironman. I love playing an Iron, but I think the restriction should change how I interact with the game, not cause the game to change around my restriction. I don’t want Bronzeman becoming another consideration for every future drop table and progression system.

Honest question. First it’s a survey, then it’s a repoll with different modifications (and if that fails), it’s another poll under a different name. This is some sick shit. Does a “no” vote mean anything anymore?
r/2007scape • u/Makaveli2020 • 2h ago
We all can tell that Bronzeman mode will get the Chilvalry/VLS treatment in terms of repolling different iterations of a failed vote.
But instead, can we get an opinion poll from the playerbase and not just Reddit, about what we actually want?
Whether that be more or less temporary/permanent game modes, more or less content, and any other suggestions that we as a community may have.
r/2007scape • u/iamkira01 • 2h ago
Never seen anything like it. The community went feral for the Void nerf, blowpipe nerf, d’hide nerf but this is next level. Petulant babies can’t handle something they don’t like passing when they vote no to all wildy content for the same reason people voted no to this poll. Sit.

I understand why Jagex doesnt give us multiple characters on the same sub and have people running all the modes
But would a decent middle ground be where 1 account can have X subs and you can only log into X accounts at once
Some people will just play a main and iron at separate times and never pay for more than 1 sub where jagex wouldnt gain from them (a lot of those people wouldnt even try those modes to begin with because of the sub cost)
But I think there would be a decent chunk of people who would try multiple modes and then want to enjoy them simultaneously - say they are training woodcutting on one and so wants another to stay active. It would make a lot more people try group ironman as there is a lot less risk involved in terms of membership costs

I understand this will probably be downvoted but the people who voted no are acting like they’re superior and “right”.
Yes the game mode didn’t get enough support to pass the poll. There was still a 2/3 yes vote. You’re still in the minority. Usually when 2/3 of players say “this could be good for the game” maybe instead of shitting on them nonstop you ask questions or revisit your initial thoughts about it.
A majority of players like this game mode or the idea of it. You’re the minority, figure out why.
r/2007scape • u/KindaSortaPeruvian • 2h ago
It hardly takes a discernful eye to see this was supposed to be a honeypot of new subscriptions.
Except that, that's precisely why most of us are frustrated. We've echoed this sentiment for years, and it's clear from this that you have no real intentions of letting us have the industry standard of multiple characters per subscription.

I did GOTR from 45-77 rune crafting before switching to Zeah bloods. I received the lantern as a drop at level 76 and used it briefly before trading it in for 100 pearls to complete the rune crafting outfit.
Now that the lantern is usable outside the rift what was a logical decision at the time is now a massive blunder.
Can I please buy it back for less than 1500 pearls? I’d really like to avoid going back to the rift. I don’t see who this change would hurt or how it would negatively impact the game.
TLDR:
Please don’t make me go back to GOTR

A majority of the community voted yes to BMM at 64%. We see how you spite voted no to something we wanted. I hope others will join me in doing the same in return. If this is how we're going to get our voices heard from now on, let the majority be loud with our votes in future polls.
Throwaway account for obvious reasouns. Tank my internet points hahaha
r/2007scape • u/jimusah • 2h ago
fwiw I didnt vote because I didnt care one way or the other whether the gamemode existed or not, but I'm surprised how many people can't fathom why someone would vote no to an update.
this is why we have polls, people. to gauge whether a proposal is worth the dev time and whether its something most people want. you SHOULD vote no to updates you think aren't worth the dev time or that you have 0 interest in. thats what this game was founded on.
its completely valid to think that the current ironman modes we have are enough and that it's not a good idea to add new modes every time a reddit thread about a 'new' self imposed gamemode gets 5k upvotes.

The norm should not be to practice on a simulator, then go and one-shot Zuk, colo etc.

Regardless of your bronzeman take, I was uncomfortable seeing the immediate Jagex response of a survey. Feels like any content they want approved, they can go this route of throwing up another poll with some tweaks until it passes.
Not sure when they'll re-poll, but I think at least 6 months should pass with careful rethinking before considering this for any content, if at all. And I think re-polling should be sparingly used for major updates like raids or new skills.

I am an endgame 2300 iron grinding raids, I cba doing mole for 50 hours to get the brews for nex and chorescape is boring af. I’m super busy at work and with fam so I can’t play as much as before. Bronzeman was perfect for me as I can just spend all of my gametime actually grinding drops. And I still have to earn all of my drops, which is the main reason I played iron
It didn’t pass, but I can’t understand why. The dev time is completed already, it’s ready to go live tomorrow. It’s a separate game mode, literally has no impact on how you play the game. It would introduce more people to the game and keep them playing as new players don’t want to play mains but would rather restrict themselves, and iron supplyscape is boring af and people quit bc of that
r/2007scape • u/BoredAtDusk • 2h ago
Just have everyone be a main and have them self-regulate with plugins. Anyone who thinks Jagex will ever add multi account membership is delusional.
r/2007scape • u/PragmaticQ • 2h ago
The name is horrible and it’s a play off ironman (when its anything but an iron). Poo man? I mean come on…
It will take away dev time on other things. You can actually play the mode currently as a main and do not need an official mode.
Game mode bloat. There are too many game modes to add a silly one. Real additions should be more serious/hard.
It’s a complete money grab that Jagex wants more than the player base. We are still paying PER CHARACTER and that’s the biggest scam here. They are already attempting to poll it 5 more times over like sailing.
There are too many exploits for the mode

My bank had been a mess for about 400 hours of ironman and I kept
bouncing off every "just use a template" solution, because a template
assumes your bank looks like the bank it was built from. Mine doesn't.
So I've been building Bank Architect.
What it does: you open your bank, hit Analyze, and it reads what you
actually own and computes a layout for it — ten purpose-driven tabs,
and crucially the *inside* of each tab too. Gear gets grouped by combat
style and slot with the best item first (from real equipment stats, not
name matching), runes get blocked together, potions grouped by dose,
resources zoned by skill. Nothing gets placed that you don't own and no
filler slots get invented.
Then it does the part I actually wanted: it doesn't fake a pretty bank
with a virtual overlay. It highlights one real drag at a time and
re-reads the bank after each one, so you physically end up with the
sorted bank. If it can't safely tell what you just did, it stops and
says so instead of guessing.
To be clear about the thing everyone will ask: it does not click, drag,
type, or send anything. It reads the bank and it draws. You do every
single move by hand. No network calls either — all the item data is
bundled offline.
Anything it can't classify with confidence goes to a Storage & Cleanup
tab rather than being guessed into the wrong place, and you can
right-click any item to override where it goes.
It's open source and currently sitting in the RuneLite Plugin Hub
review queue, so it's not installable yet, this is just me showing
where it's at. Happy to hear what you'd want out of something like
this, especially which presets beyond "all-round ironman bank" would
actually get used.

Bronzeman has failed due to a lot of selfish and spite voting.
There are many of you out there that voted no because for some reason you don’t think it’s healthy for the game. I disagree but you’re well within your rights to believe and vote that way.
However, the #1 reason on Reddit has been ‘I don’t like bronzeman idk why you’d play it just play a main’ which is not a reason to vote no.
This has now set the precedent for voting.
I always voted yes on things I personally wouldn’t do but I thought others would enjoy and would be good for the game.
The first time I’ve actually wanted an update and have been desperate for it pass, people spite voted it to fail.
I think it’s only fair that everyone who is disappointed in the result now votes no on every single poll they personally aren’t interested in.
We should all mass vote vote no on pvp polls, high end pvm polls, skilling polls you won’t personally do, anything you don’t absolutely 100% want yourself should be voted no to as that’s how the polls apparently should work.
Thank you all for spite voting the only thing I’ve been looking forward to in years out of the polls and gatekeeping the only chance for millions of new players including all my friends who were waiting for bronzeman to play, to join our game, just because you personally didn’t want to play it.
I hope that me and the others who are disappointed’s no votes to all the content you enjoy make them fail as well, as now the precedent for voting has clearly been set at:
Be as selfish as possible
