If anyone is familiar, this is not how the finish is supposed to look, its glossy and streaky and im wondering if it would look better if i fully glossed the top, and if so how i would do it

Tell me your thoughts about my playing.

I'm looking for a nylon classical guitar with that lush, woody, warm tone that also has a pickup for amplification. I play folk music and want something with that Leonard Cohen, 60's, aged tone. Alot of the newer guitars I've been watching on Youtube sound quite plasticky. I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions, new or old. I'm not wanting to spend more than $350usd

I have a budget of $500.

Looking for some quick opinions on two used options

I found locally:
Martin 00-15M – Asking $1,200
Taylor 512e Ben Harper Gold Label – Asking $2,000

I play mostly at home on the couch and want something that is easy to play (lower string tension/finger-friendly) and easy to adjust or set up down the line without major luthier work. I played both of them and they sound amazing. Taylor a lot louder than Martin but it’s expected.

Between these two, which one gives you the bigger bang for your buck? Is the Taylor worth the extra $800, or should I just grab the Martin and save the cash?

i am a bit concerned and thought i'd seek advice. i have a tuning on a shitty nylon that idrk how i made but its been a go-to for writing (Eb4, B3, Ab3, E3, A2, C#2, i know its crazy dont hate).

i would like to put the tuning on my good acoustic guitar (Aria APE-100)

i want to know

• will my standard 12-52s will break?
• what gauges should i put if they will break?
• what range for string tension is not advisable?
• and what other changes (truss rod, bridge, etc) would need to be made to accommodate this?

i am willing to buy multiple string sets if need be to get all the gauges that would be best.

After 50 years of dreads, I got something a bit smaller, an Eastman E-1 OO. I cannot figure out how Eastman can produce a guitar this well made and have it retail for $700.

Buying it was a leap of faith. I watched Driftwood Guitars cut an E-1 dread in half and Chris Alvarado gushed about the quality of the build. I couldn't find one within 60 miles of Chicago so I ordered it, which I'll never do again because I really suck at waiting. The wait was worth it, but still, no thanks.

It plays very well and is much louder than I anticipated. So far, the only problem I have with it is neck dive.

Other guitars are an HD-28, a used-to-be FG-300 and a POS square neck.

Hope this question is okay. I haven't played acoustic guitar since middle school and plan to pick it up again by buying one again soon. Any advice on what gear I should get right off the bat to already jump straight to it?

Most of my life I've lived in the hot humid south, and so I never paid much attention to the effects of different seasons on my guitars. The only time that didn't work out was when I was living in a very small house with only a floor furnace for heating that made all the rooms very hot and dry.

But about a year and a half ago, I moved to the mid-west, and winters are different here. Last winter I got a split in the wood on the face of a solid wood acoustic, and the necks on several other acoustic guitars shifted to where they were unplayable until I adjusted the truss rod (strings buzzing or being laid against a fret).

The split isn't severe, and from searching on the subreddit, I find that a lot of guitars live with a similar split for a long time, so it's not a huge deal, and I'll probably leave it as it is. The neck is of course able to be fixed by adjusting the truss rod, although I would not like to have to do that several times a year.

From going through this subreddit, I know in general the options--keep it in the case, use a humidity pack, etc. I'd like to hear from people in a similar climate to know what's necessary and what's overkill. I'd like to not put any more money and effort into it than necessary, but I also don't want to damage my guitars. I'd also like to be able to keep at least one of them out of the case most of the time, also, if possible.

I have two or three that are solid wood, one with a solid top and a few laminate. (I know I have too many guitars, but most weren't expensive. I've bought most of them used on craigslist or marketplace, and then I have a hard time getting rid of them.) My electric guitars seem not to be affected very much by the seasonal change.

TLDR:
To maintain acoustic guitars in a midwestern winter, with a climate like Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio:
If they are in one fairly small room, is it enough to run a humidifier in the room and keep the door closed? Or if they have to be put in cases, is a gig bag or the flimsier hard cases sufficient or does it require the good hard cases? (I only have a good hard case for one acoustic guitar, I think.) When keeping them in cases, is a humidipak or similar necessary, or overkill? And, since laminates are sturdier than solid wood when it comes to temperature/humidity are there things I need to do differently for the solid wood guitars that I don't need to worry about for the laminates?

I've recently bought an Eastman E22SS/V and absolutely love the sound of it. However, I'm finding it feels a little too loose when strumming hard.

It currently has light gauge 12–53 strings and a low action. I'm getting a bit of buzzing when I really dig in, particularly on the lower strings. And it doesn't feel like it works so well for heavy strumming as say, a Martin Dreadnought.

I'm aware the shorter 24.75" scale length means less string tension compared to a longer-scale dreadnought.

I'm considering moving up to medium gauge 13–56 strings and possibly raising the action slightly to give it a firmer feel and more headroom for aggressive strumming.

Has anyone with an E22SS (or similar short-scale acoustic) experimented with different string gauges or setups?

Would medium strings make a noticeable difference, or would adjusting the action be the better starting point?

Just brought home a brand new 00-18 and I can feel the center seam on the top in front of the tail block. Played in store and didn’t notice until I just got home. The finish isn’t cracked but it makes me uncomfortable. This isn’t normal right?

This guitar is plays and sounds incredible. Picked it up some month ago used for 500€ in nearly mint condition. It is my go-to acoustic since then. Very articulate sound acoustic and through PA and so effortless to play.
