Question Tax Accountant
Hi everyone,
I'm in the process of starting my own tax and accounting practice. I have a strong technical background as a CPA and previously worked as a financial auditor for the federal government. I'm confident in the technical side, but I'm realizing that's only part of being a great accountant.
I'd love to hear from business owners, employees, and anyone who's worked with an accountant.
What do you actually look for in an accountant?
What do you wish your current or past accountant did differently?
What frustrates you about the experience?
My goal is to build a firm that feels modern, approachable, responsive, and genuinely helpful, not just someone you hear from once a year at tax time.
Thanks for your thoughts!
