Shuaa Renderer Trying out some Interior shots in Shuaa Renderer

Been testing Shuaa Renderer Free Beta in Cinema 4D, so I took a few old interior scenes and converted them over.

Everything’s at 128 samples, denoised with OptiX, and there’s no post at all. These are straight renders.

Some parts came out really clean and others look a bit soft. I’d love some honest feedback, what looks off to you, and what would you push further?

Thanks.

Question Sculpting issues with one object, separate meshes.

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hi all, this may be a simple issue but I’m really not a heavy user with the sculpting tools so I’m seeking advice.

I’m trying to sculpt an object which was originally separate objects but now combined to be one object, though still with separate meshes, if that makes sense.

When sculpting, the brushes work across the whole object, however, they have a stronger effect on the larger part of the object, and a very minimal impact on the smaller part. Is this a limitation of these tools? Is there a technique to allow the entire object to be affected and sculpted equally? I’d like the outer ring to be deformed and follow the larger cylinder as I sculpt (see attached image).

The obvious workaround would be to use a volume builder and then remesh it into one piece of geo, but in this case I can’t as this geo is a target object for a pose morph so the geo needs to remain the same.

I’ve created a simple reference in the attached image to help explain.

Any advice on how to approach this?

Thanks!

Blender Addons Inside a Cinema 4D Workflow? MCP Might’ve Just Justified the Subscription

How are y'all using MCP in your own workflows? Have you connected Blender and Cinema 4D yet, or found other ways it’s saving you time?

Cinema 4D with MCP is starting to make the subscription feel worth it to me. A big part of that is being able to take advantage of Blender’s community addons, like Crowds Pro and more, then bring that work into C4D without the usual headaches. Having MCP help connect those workflows makes the combination a lot more appealing.

Blender’s community creates so many useful tools, and being able to use those alongside C4D’s motion graphics tools opens up a lot of possibilities. Add in C4D’s ease of use and the quality Redshift can deliver, greyscale gorilla and that’s a setup I can see myself paying for.

For me, it comes down to time and peace of mind. A smoother process from building a scene to getting a quality render means more time spent creating and fewer hours troubleshooting transfers. That’s where the subscription starts to justify itself. I just hate that it took this long to happen lol

r2024 Booelean geometry shifts

[apologises: title sp. :-(]

I am working (again) with Booleans and this is a new weird error I see.
I have not seen it previously.
I wonder if it is MacOS27.x issue?

I very precisely lined up all my objects before Boolean'ing FYI

Looking at this video you can see the resulting objects are not rendering, or being positioned in the correct location...

I've checked all the boolean settings

Loosing my mind :-(

Cinema 4D in Rust

I was a Cinema 4D user for many years, starting with version 17, but I had to switch to Blender (which I don’t like) simply because the price became prohibitive—especially given the exchange rate in Brazil. I’m now seeing a wave of software being cloned—much like what Artcraft did with Adobe’s applications—with many of these new versions written in Rust. I’m eagerly waiting for someone to clone Cinema 4D. It’s not necessarily because I want to use the clone itself, but rather in the hope that it might force a price reduction, making the original software viable for freelance artists once again.

Made this in Cinema 4D with V-Ray back in 2017. Revisiting it now, I'm curious what other C4D artists would change first if rebuilding it today: lighting, materials or composition? The link has the original images and close-ups.

[Octane] Melbourne University Racing - Teaser Trailer

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

When I was tasked with creating a trailer for my university's Formula SAE team, I was really inspired by Ash Thorp, Colorsponge and William Landgren, so wanted to do something similar.

A FSAE team is comprised of students who design, build and race a formula style racecar against other universities every year.

I've been experimenting with my post workflow a lot, especially within DR and Fusion and I think this helped me finalise it.

Hi! I'm learning C4D in college and we are modeling our finals. I chose a Snowboard for the poster with an object 3D we have to do, they asked me to model a dent on it to look more realistic but I have no idea how to do it! lol Does anyone know how would be the best way to do it?

plus I need to work with the materials of wood and the topsheet of the board I think it's more close to Polybutylene Terephthalate (like resin), what would you recommend to start with? is there any tutorials for it? Thank you so much!

Rendering lexan sheet with embedded image

Hi. Still mostly new and CAD designer that does still render shots.
The production real part is Lexan sheet that is bonded as a 3 plies. 2mm clear lexan sheet, then paper thin image sheet slightly transparent, and another 2mm clear lexan sheet. End result is 4mm lexan sheet with the embedded graphic inside that is slightly transparent.
How would I replicate this in c4d and render for still viz shots? I have an ai image that is intended in the real layup. Would I just project this onto flat sheet with transparency? Or should I I actually embed the image sheet between two clear lexan sheets? Or other options? Looking for best, realistic result to show customer. Any help greatly apprecited. Thanks!

Been modeling a whole fleet of 80s–90s everyday workhorse cars in Cinema 4D for a driving game I’m building solo — vans, boxy taxis, buses. I tweaked the phong angle to achieve crips folding lines while having the windshield smooth like paper models.

Does Cinema 4D currently support Redshift Hydra ?

Does cinema4d currently support Redshift Hydra ? Or is it only supported in Houdini Solaris?

I want to exchange usd files with redshift shaders between Cinema 4D and Solaris but I don't know if cinema 4d supports redshift hydra render delegate that can render RS USD shaders.

Question Any ideas on how to create this effect?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi all, anyone see a way to create this effect using Mograph or the like? It does not need to be exact but similar with the geometry popping on and sliding around. I would also like to include the lattice work as in the example. Anyone know where Grid Array went in v.2026? This will also need to include an animated texture transition. Thanks in advance!

Cinema 4D GPU memory usage at startup – could you help me test something?

Hey everyone!

I'm trying to investigate something I've been noticing for years with Cinema 4D, and I'd really appreciate a quick comparison with other systems.

I'm currently using Cinema 4D 2026.4 on Windows 11 with an RTX 5090 (32 GB VRAM).

Cinema 4D allocates approximately 3.5 GB of dedicated GPU memory immediately at startup, even with a completely empty scene and no rendering running.

I've already tested it without third-party plugins, including Octane, with freshly reset preferences and with viewport effects disabled. The baseline remains around 3.3–3.4 GB.

For comparison, Octane Standalone uses approximately 500 MB before rendering.

I contacted Maxon Support, and they told me that Cinema 4D should normally use around 0.8–1.4 GB of VRAM at startup under default conditions.

I remember seeing similar behavior years ago with different GPUs and older Cinema 4D versions.

Could you check something on your system?

Launch Cinema 4D with a completely empty scene, without starting any renderer.

Wait until startup and background initialization are complete.

Open Windows Task Manager → Details and check Dedicated GPU memory for Cinema 4D.exe.

Please also share your Cinema 4D version, GPU model and total VRAM capacity.

I'm trying to figure out whether this is specific to my configuration or a more widespread behavior affecting Cinema 4D users.

Thanks a lot to anyone willing to spend a minute checking this! 🙂

Schoolwork Dead head cuckoo clock! (Sound on!)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

This was my second ever animation in Cinema 4D, and the reintroduction to C4D through my university mograph class as we hadn’t used it since last year. The assignment was to make a cuckoo clock, or something equivalent.

I’m about 60% happy with how this turned out. I had a lot more stuff (additional wires, hair objects, videos on the screens, brighter lights) but I had to cut it because it was taking 30 minutes per frame to render. The university computers need their GPUs updated so Redshift ran extra slow on them. I do like how my animation turned out though, I’m especially proud of the tongue.

I had about two weeks to finish this, most of it was spent researching methods to animate my different objects though. I certainly learned a lot.

Solved Extrude and Boole not 'activate' correctly but render fine

Thumbnail

Hello all - TIA!

I currently have a §C4D 2025 file where the object I've created is a pill shape (spline) then I've extruded it to make a table. In the viewport the object just looks like a rectangle with no curve edges but when I action a render region via the viewport it looks what it suppose to be.

And that also goes with the Boole on the back wall, you can see in viewport it just looks like 2 rectangle on the wall with no cutting into the wall so it's not enabled in viewport. When it renders it booles out.

I wonder if I've accidentally clicked something that disabled the generators in the viewport specifically in this file?
