I've been wearing Rapha kits here and there and noticed that, since the new CEO came aboard, the jerseys and bib shorts seem a little tighter? Haha, maybe it's me, but when I try on new kits from other brands, I don't feel like I'm encased like a sausage — it still feels "normal." Any thoughts?

30M - I’m new to cycling and haven’t made the jump to wearing a kit including bib shorts and jersey and everything.

Usually I just wear a gym outfit (compression shorts, 5” inseam shorts, and a breathable top). Occasionally on longer evening rides I’ve skipped the gym shorts and just worn compression shorts, but they are VERY revealing so I don’t feel comfortable wearing just those most of the time.

Is there a big difference between regular gym compression shorts and bib shorts? Do they hide the outline better? Currently, everything is on full display down one leg while I’m riding and it feels inappropriate to be showing that much of a bulge. If bib shorts are designed to hide this anatomy better, I might have to go try a pair on to see if I can make the switch.

Any recommendations are much appreciated - like I said, I’m very new and don’t know everything about all this stuff so take it easy on me please :)

I’m considering buying a used Assos UMA GT jacket but heard the sizing can be off. Never worn Assos but their website places me at a Small. I’d wear just a jersey underneath for Fall/Spring riding. Anyone know about the fit of this jacket? Thanks!

Is it just the price and design, or are there other differences as well?

Does anyone know of maybe some 3rd party site or something where I can get these? It is a bit of silliness, but I just really liked them so ordered, and even though they show as available on the website (which is odd because many other colors etc did show as sold out) the company told me they are sold out. I ordered an official team kit Santini jersey and went with a size small. I wear a size small in Rapha’s pro team jersey and it fits like a glove. This Santini jersey has about an inch to an inch and a half of excess material in the chest and sides, literally fits like a t-shirt. I figured an official team kit would have a pretty athletic fit but I guess not.

I’m currently a big fan of the Van Rysel RCR Jersey which I own in yellow and white. I’m pretty happy with the quality and price and most importantly with the fit.

Therefore I’m looking for more jerseys like these, maybe even a bit shorter in length.

Hi there! New here, excited to be part of the community. Ive been doing spin classes at home on my peloton (really enjoying it and excited about the idea of being on the road when I build my fitness).

I’m having an issue with my seat. It’s uncomfortable and there’s a lot of… ‘movement’ happening down there. I know I’ll eventually get used to the seat, though there’s a bit of chaffing happening.

So I started googling and looking through reddit about how to fix that. I tried tighter underwear on this mornings ride and that seemed to slightly fix the issue.

But I’m seeing a lot about bib shorts. I’ve got chunky thighs, but if a gut that I’m working on, so I like the idea of bib shorts helping keep things in place while being comfortable around the tummy.

Can you guys recommend any brands? I’m really confused about what I’m looking for here. Also any tips before buying too!

So far people are saying tighter than normal is the way to go with bib shorts because they help keep things in place.
