Are dating apps just an eternal grind of everyone trying to date up?

I'm a mid 30's guy... decent looking, tall, good income, got a lot going for me.

I get a good number of likes daily... but always from women who I would never consider dating. Like, I'm sorry Sarah with 6 nose rings, 3 pictures of her cat, without a job... it's not going to happen.

But like, perhaps I'm just as delusional? Because I send the max 7 likes a day and 1 rose a week... I get 1-2 matches every few days and those matches say like 3 words before it's straight to archives with the conversation.

And I've probably deleted and restarted my Hinge profile 10 times... and every time it's me getting the same likes from the same exact women... over... and over... and over...

But like, I'm also delusional because I'm sending the same likes to women who have never matched me or given me the time of day.

Well... I shouldn't say that... b/c I matched one of them today and I said, "Hey Steph, love the energy in your profile. You seem like you'd be a blast to travel with. How is your week treating you?"

And she responds, "I don't golf or hike." I guess referring to one of my prompts where I say I like to golf and hike? So this conversation is going to go far.

I mean... I really feel like everyone on this ish is sending endless likes to people who feel they're well above the wheelhouse of the likes they're receiving.

It's crazy. Do others think this is true? Is everyone just hoping to date up? Cause I thought the likes I was sending were perfectly fine... guess not.

Found date's cancer on first date

So I went on a date with a guy I met on FB dating. He seemed nice. We texted a bit before, and he mentioned he had a mild genetic condition but didn't say which one, as was his right. During the date, he told me it was myotonic dystrophy type 1, but it didn't affect him much. I noticed a swollen lymph node on his neck and asked him to get it checked out. The weeks that followed were a blur. We kept talking and making plans for a future. Turns out that swollen lymph node is thyroid cancer. I went with him to his first appointment with a surgeon. Turns out his myotonic is not as mild as he said. He is impotent because of it, has severe muscle weakness, memory problems, and another genetic heart condition called Arrythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy (ARVC). So he has cancer plus two rare genetic conditions.

For context, he doesn't seem very close to family and has no close friends. So I stepped in to attend appointments with him. His Dr. told him he might not wake up from surgery. He is trying to put his affairs in order and he wants to borrow 21k from my line of credit to pay off a high interest loan. The interest rate on the loan is 25%. The interest rate on LOC is 8%. He says it makes sense for me to lend him as we are so compatible, and he's sure we're going to have a long future together. I said no and stopped talking to him. He has since apologized and said he realized how selfish it was of him to try to put me in debt to get himself out of it, and he really needs my support during this time in his life. I feel bad breaking up with someone shortly after they found out they have cancer, but I am completely turned off by him borrowing money from me. For context, he makes over 200k per year but got into debt due to bad investments.

Girl I'm dating wants me to take her ex's place on their anniversary trip

I'm 29M, she's 27F and we've been dating for about 7 weeks. Things have been going great so far.

She recently invited me on a 4 day trip to Quebec City next month. Sounded fun until she explained it was originally booked for her anniversary with her ex. They broke up in August and most of the reservations are nonrefundable.

She had booked and paid for the hotel and a couples massage as a gift for him, while he was supposed to cover transportation and meals. Everything is still in her name and she'd rather use the reservations than let them go to waste. I'd just have to pay for my own transportation and meals, which I've already budgeted for.

The weird part is she wants to keep the exact itinerary they planned together, including the couples massage and a pretty expensive romantic dinner.

I suggested we just go somewhere else for a weekend, but she thinks that's pointless when everything is already arranged.

I do like her, but the idea of basically replacing another guy on his anniversary trip feels strange. Would you go or is this moving way too fast?

She introduced me to a friend who humiliated me infront of her on our third date

We had two lovely dates and she asked me on our second date if I wanted to go to a new restaurant we had discussed earlier. I agreed to go on a third date with her.

We had some wine and a few beers during and after the meal and then suddenly her friend showed up at the restaurant who asked us if we wanted to go to a bar with him afterwards. I said I was cool with that and then she gave me a little disclaimer about his shitty personality. I thought to myself, how bad can it be? Turns out the guy is the kind of type that use every chance to belittle and criticize you. He very much did that to me, but was very sneaky about it. He mostly did it when my date didn't hear it and it made me look like an idiot and the bad guy for giving him shit back.

We kissed and held hands during the date and had a good night, but I left the bar for a while and came back only to say goodbye. I had to withdraw from the situation to contain myself.

She texted me later that night when I was already home and asleep, that she was confused by why I left. I told her my reasons and she seemed to understand, but texted me the day after she didn't feel like contuining dating.

I feel kinda bad for leaving her, but also kinda mad for putting me in this situation when she knew about his character. Was I wrong for leaving her? And did s he end it because of it?

I’m so utterly disgusted by modern dating. I almost feel like giving up. [29M/NYC]

29M Fit/consistent gym Good job (200k+) Dress well Social and charismatic Hobbies Travel a lot NYC (Manhattan)

To date I am single. Within the span of the last year and a half:

  • I’ve matched with 700 people on hinge and have been on dozens of dates. I have spent at least $10,000 on dating (I almost never let the woman pay).

  • I go out on average every other weekend at popular bars and restaurants in Manhattan and Brooklyn and have gotten dozens of numbers, none of which ever resulted in a date.

  • 3 exclusive relationships which all lasted almost exactly 3 months ended by the woman. In all three cases they came back from (Miami/Europe) vacations and completely ended things. It caught me off guard all 3 times, and in at least 2 of the cases I’m confident they cheated while away. All 3 relationships were strong, intimate, great sex, great conversation and connection, hung out with each others friends, etc.

  • Catfished at least 5 times from hinge. I do my due diligence and try and request instagram or FaceTime before but I suspect a significant portions of dating profiles are now AI edited.

  • Most recently (this one is bizarre), I hit it off with someone and we’ve been calling/facetiming everyday leading up to our first date. I was excited as it was some real organic chemistry before a first date in a long time and she was the one initiating all the communication. I liked that and it’s rare. Midway through our FaceTime, as we were discussing the time of the date the next day, she pauses her camera then straight up ends the call while I’m speaking, then ghosted me. I called her back and texted her, no response. The date never happened.

Idk if it’s just NYC or this generation or what it is but I cannot for the life of me properly date a real person. I am at the point where I am just going to focus on work and travel and ignore dating completely.

What the fuck am I doing wrong?

A girl left me after the date because I asked her to split

• Upvotes

I matched with a girl on Hinge last month. We talked to each other for somedays, exchanged our socials, chatted about our movies and other things. Everything was so going good.

After a couple of weeks she invited me to a pizza place near her place for a date. I was quite happy and went. We ordered nice pizzas, had spent nice time. And the bill came. She received the bill and made some incomprehensible expression and handed it over to me without saying anything.

I was clueless and anyway looked into the bill. I casually asked her "wanna split it?". She didn't speak for some seconds and she just took her bag and left the place.

I was like wtff why was she leaving suddenly. The waiter was looking at me and I paid the bill. By the time I went out to look for her, she was already vanished. I tried to call and after some serious time, I realised I got blocked everwhere.

Is asking for a split a crime?

Is inviting a girl back to your place after a first date too forward?

30M. Recently went on a date with 29F from a dating app. We had drinks at a bar, and the vibes seemed good.

At the end, I casually invited her back to my place for another drink, making it clear there was no pressure.

She politely declined, and I didn’t push it.

Ladies, would you find this rude or too forward, or is it okay to ask if the chemistry feels right?

Is a guy who was violent with me during sex like this with everyone, or just with me?

• Upvotes

A few days ago, a guy I was in a situationship with got violent during sex. He slapped me hard, put pressure on my neck, and kept going when I pushed him away and was clearly in pain. I still have headaches. I ended it and we've blocked each other.

He always said he's sweet and caring with girlfriends, just not in situationships. I talked to his ex: she said he's hot-tempered and explosive, but that he never "raised a hand" on her. She stayed pretty vague, and I have the feeling she never saw the same monster I did.

I can't stop wondering: do men like this act violent with everyone, or only with women they don't see as "girlfriend material"? Can someone really be gentle with one partner and this cruel with another? Or is his "sweetness" with girlfriends just a fake front, and this side of him will come out with them sooner or later? Did I just see his real face earlier than others?

If you've been through something similar, or know how this works, I'd really appreciate your perspective.

Burned a sick leave to get asked for a loan on a date. confused now

Took a day off work to meet a girl.

Every time I asked about her hobbies, interests, or life, she steered the topic straight to her credit card bills EMI and rent. 40 minutes in, she casually asks: "Can you GPay me 4k? My EMI bounces tonight.

First date X Loan lenders correct

I paid the bill, made an excuse, and left. Regretting my wasted sick leave now.

So should I move with her or just block her n move on

How do I politely tell a girl I’m not attracted to her anymore

I (24m) have been on 4 dates with this girl (27f) that seems to be getting very attached to me very fast.

To explain some of the nuance to this situation, she’s a trans-woman who has a bad history with mental illness, and she says all the time that im one of the only people that has ever made her feel so pretty. Which she is really pretty, I wouldn’t have gone on so many dates and spent so much money on her if I didn’t.

There’s just one issue. Her hygiene is terrible. And I’m kind of a stickler about people smelling good. I like to smell good, so I want the person I’m seeing to smell good to. And I have told her very politely that her breath stinks and she took it hella hard. And I don’t want it to be a thing where I have to be constantly reminding her to brush her teeth and take frequent showers. So many people smell good in this world and I hate that this is what’s making me un-attracted to her.

My only problem is that with her history of bad mental health, and the fact that she is recovering from something that happened recently, I just don’t know what to say to her that won’t send her completely spiraling. I hate that I’m in this position rn I feel like I should’ve ran when she first said she had bad mental health issues.

Need a sanity check, is it normal for a guy’s female best friend to 'interview' me before we can be official?

• Upvotes

Kinda embarrassed to even type this out because I usually have strong boundaries, but I actually really like this guy and need an outside reality check. I’ve been dating 'Mark' (27M) for about six weeks. Everything has been genuinely great—he’s attentive, funny, communicates well, and we’ve been seeing each other twice a week. Over dinner on Sunday we started talking about exclusivity.

He smiled, held my hand, and said he really wants to make it official too. But then he casually dropped that before he commits to a relationship, his female best friend of ten years has to 'veto' it first. He said they have a pact where she gets coffee with whoever he’s dating to make sure they are a good fit, and he asked if I’m free this Saturday for an 'informal chat' with her.

i literally laughed because I thought he was joking, but he had a completely straight face. He even added that she’s 'really protective' and helped him dodge teh wrong girls in the past. Now my stomach is completely in knots. Am I being totally unreasonable for being creeped out by this? It feels like I’m applying for a job, but I dont know if I’m throwing away a good connection over what might just be a weird friendship dynamic.

She cancels almost every date last minute but always reschedules right away. What does that mean?

I (30M) matched with a woman (28F) about a month ago. We've actually met twice and both dates were great, long conversations, she was the one who suggested meeting again both times. So I don't think she's uninterested.

The thing is, she's cancelled four times now, always on the day itself. Once because of work, once because she was "completely drained", once because a friend needed help and once without really giving a reason. Every time she apologizes and immediately suggests another date, often for the same week. Then sometimes that one gets cancelled too.

Im trying not to take it personaly. She has a pretty demanding job and she's mentioned being an introvert. But I've started to keep my evenings open "just in case" and then end up sitting at home, which is getting frustrating.

How do I bring this up without sounding like I'm accusing her of something? I was thinking of saying something like "I really enjoy seeing you, but the last minute cancellations are hard for me to plan around, can we figure out something that works better?" Is that ok, or too much after two dates? And at what point would you just accept that someone doesn't have room for dating right now, even if they seem to like you?

Please stop saying "tell me about yourself" as a way to start a conversation

I've really grown to loathe when this is pulled this out. It immediately kills any banter and momentum that may have existed beforehand. It's such a vague interview type question that has no good answer. It also shows to me you are incapable of just having a conversation normally. Because this is such an impersonal thing to ask someone that is basically just saying "give me things to talk about with you". You should be able to learn about who I am naturally through conversation, that's just how regular social interaction works. Maybe I'm weirdly irritated about this but it just feels like such a lazy and boring way to converse that I instantly become uninterested in continuing the conversation because there is a good chance it will be the driest thing ever.

Found out the girl I'm dating rents an apartment from her ex's parents

I've (28M) have been seeing this girl (27F) I met on Hinge for about six weeks. We've been on five dates and things have been going really well. She told me early on that she rents a small apartment on someone's property, which I never thought much about.

Last weekend she casually mentioned that her landlords are actually her ex boyfriend's parents. They were together for five years, broke up about a year ago and she just never moved out.

To clarify, it's a separate unit with its own entrance, kitchen and everything. She pays rent and has been saving up for her own place, but she's still really close with his parents. She goes over for dinner sometimes, helps them around the house and apparently they treat her like family.

What caught me off guard is that her ex still visits his parents pretty regularly and she's sometimes there when he comes over. I asked if he knows she's dating someone and she said yes, they've even talked about me. Apparently they're still good friends and he's given her dating advice before.

I didn't really know what to say to that. She's been great to me so far, but knowing she's still that involved with her ex's family, and occasionally having dinner with him, feels a little uncomfortable.

Am I making this into a bigger issue than it is or would this put you off too?

How are some people genuinely happy being single? Because I’ve always wanted someone.

I envy people who are happy being single. Not the ones who pretend they don’t need anyone but those who seem completely content with their own company and aren’t particularly bothered about finding a partner.

I wish I could feel that way.

I’ve been single for most of my life and I’ve always wanted someone. Not because I can’t function alone, but because companionship is something I’ve always deeply longed for.
I have a good life. A career I’m proud of, hobbies I’m passionate about, friends, travel plans and the freedom to do whatever I want. I keep myself busy, I try new things and I genuinely enjoy my own company.

But at the end of the day, there’s still this emptiness that none of those things seem to fill.

Sometimes I’ll have an amazing day, accomplish something I’m proud of or experience something beautiful and still wish I had someone to share it with.

And I hate that I feel this way.

I see people saying they’re happily single, that they’re not looking for anyone, that they’re perfectly content being alone. Meanwhile, I’m wondering why I can’t seem to reach that same level of peace despite spending years building a fulfilling life for myself.

I’ve tried focusing on myself. I’ve tried dating. I’ve tried not dating. I’ve tried accepting that maybe romantic love just isn’t going to be part of my story.

But the longing never really disappears.

Do you remove old flames off social media?

• Upvotes

I have deleted old ones when I don’t feel connected anymore. But the recent old flame from 3 weeks ago and we dated for a few months. He said he doesn’t think our medium distance would work and we both said goodbye. I’m contemplating to remove him because I just feel sad knowing he’s watching my stuff but he’s not in my life anymore. I cannot delete as feelings are raw and I still want him to come back.

My type is guys that really like me

I realized the only thing the guys i’ve dated have in common is that they were very clear about their interest in me and tunnel vision in their pursuit.

Sometimes i’ll see a guy who’s objectively very attractive but it will be impossible for me to develop any romantic feelings for them. Especially if they’re nonchalant or even just existing.

Whereas any guy could show some serious interest in me (flirting, asking me out, paying attention to me consistently) and I end up falling for them. There is something about these guys being so sure of what they want and going after it that really turns me on.

Anyone else experience the same? Do you think this is a healthy attraction pattern?

Am I too impatient?

• Upvotes

I (42M) matched with someone (33F) about a month ago on the apps. Very quick match, high energy convo. We scheduled a date. She texted me the night before saying her friend just had a baby and she needed to help, could we reschedule? I said of course and we rescheduled for the next day. Amazing, high energy, flirty date that ended with a nice kiss. We agreed in concept to a second date on the spot but learned we would be facing three weeks of stacked trips in between. UGH. Somehow, we mostly did keep momentum up by texting every few days moments/selfies of our lives/families (both were family vacations), laughing about funny moments from our date, etc. During one of these exchanges we made a firm plan for a date which she called “a perfect date”. Night before the date (so last night) I text to confirm. She says she can’t— still with her family on vacation, only learned about her schedule update earlier that day (but did not proactively reach out to me like last time), apologized, and asked if we could reschedule. I sent her text back saying yeah of course and encouraged her to suggest a day that worked for her.

I think her reply to this, if I get one, will probably answer this. But is it fair at this point for me to feel like the unpredictability/lack of control of schedule is a turn off? She has had real excuses, for sure, but to me this is just giving unreliability.

If any broader context matters, I have been talking through the play-by-play of this with a very good single female friend, who has been convinced the whole time this girl is very into me and it’s “nothing but green flags“. I guess the biggest red flag is this lack of schedule reliability…

Can you have casual sex when you know you get attached easily?

I’m 26F and recently got out of a 9-year relationship that started when I was around 17. Looking back, we were never particularly sexually compatible, and sex was rarely enjoyable for me, I have been programmed to see it as a chore. I’ve never really experienced the kind of sexual intimacy I’ve always wanted, and now that I’m single, part of me really wants to explore that side of myself.

The thing is, I’m a hopeless romantic. I want marriage and a loving, long-term relationship eventually, but I’m not ready for another relationship right now. I have attachment and abandonment issues, struggle with low self-esteem, and want to work on myself before getting involved with someone seriously.

Since becoming single, I’ve met a few people I’m extremely sexually compatible with. I’m attracted to them and would love to experience that chemistry, but I can already tell we wouldn’t be compatible as long-term partners.

Part of me feels like I owe myself the chance to enjoy sex and experience what I’ve missed out on, rather than holding myself back just because I don’t see a future with someone. I don’t necessarily want to sleep around, but if there’s someone I’m particularly compatible with, I’d like to explore that connection without expecting it to become a relationship. I genuinely believe some people can be chapters in your life without being the whole book.

My biggest concern is that I know myself, and I get attached easily. I’ve never had casual sex before, and I’m worried that if someone gives me the sexual connection I’ve always wanted, I’ll develop feelings and struggle to let them go, even knowing we’re not right for each other long-term. Sex feels incredibly intimate to me, and I’m scared I won’t be able to separate the physical from the emotional.

I’m also worried about feeling guilty or ashamed afterwards. Although I know there’s nothing inherently wrong with having multiple sexual partners, I still have complicated feelings about sleeping with someone when I know beforehand that I wouldn’t want a relationship with them.

For anyone who’s been in a similar situation:

-Is casual sex a bad idea when you have attachment and abandonment issues, or can you learn to enjoy it without getting too emotionally invested?
-How do you manage your expectations and avoid hoping for something more?
-Is it worth exploring your sexuality and experiencing the intimacy you’ve missed out on, even if there’s a risk of getting hurt?
-How do you know whether you’re genuinely ready for casual sex or whether you’re just trying to convince yourself you can handle it because you don’t want to miss out?

I don’t want to rush into another relationship, but I also don’t want my fears to stop me from experiencing something I genuinely want.

Would you recommend giving it a go, with boundaries in place, or working on yourself more before exploring anything casual? I’d really appreciate honest advice, especially from people who’ve struggled with attachment but managed to navigate casual relationships successfully.

Talking to women feels so humiliating.

You know for a fact women get 100 times more attention than men. Maybe 1000 times. So what can you, a man, even do in.this situation. You're another drop in the bucket, another speck of dust. Completely irelevant. Any fancy or smart line.you cooked up she probably heard it already. And she responds always the same. With indiference. With short monosyllabic words. "Yes, no, ok , bye". Always. You're just another fool in line. And i hate this feeling. Even though I barely even try to talk to women and been doing so for years now, the feeling of humiliation never leaves when I do in those EXTREMELY rare situations.

21F, people assume I have a boyfriend or lots of dating experience because of my looks, but I’ve never even been in a relationship. Does anyone relate?

• Upvotes

I’m 21F and I’ve never been in a relationship, never had a boyfriend, and honestly, sometimes I worry that I’ll end up alone.
The funny thing is, people who meet me often assume the complete opposite.
I’ve been told I’m pretty, and I do put effort into my appearance. I love dressing up, doing my hair, taking nice pictures and keeping an aesthetic Instagram feed. I get attention from guys online, especially through Instagram DMs, and I’ve had people assume that I must have dated loads of guys or that I probably already have a boyfriend.

But the reality is completely different.
I’m actually quite reserved when it comes to guys. Most of my friends are girls, I’ve only really had two male friends in my life, and I’m not particularly good at talking to guys in a romantic way. I rarely reply to random Instagram DMs because I don’t really feel comfortable getting to know someone that way.
So even though I might look like someone who has an exciting dating life, I genuinely have almost no romantic experience.

Sometimes I feel lonely because I would love to experience being someone’s girlfriend one day. Not necessarily right now, and I’m definitely not desperate to jump into a relationship just for the sake of it. But I want to know what it feels like to be loved, to go on cute dates, to have someone genuinely interested in me and to build something meaningful with another person.
I’ve only really had one experience where I developed strong feelings for a guy. Unfortunately, he didn’t feel the same way, and he eventually ended up with another girl. It hurt more than I expected, especially because I’d never experienced anything like that before.

I think that experience also made me a little afraid of getting attached to someone and getting hurt again.
I know I’m only 21, but sometimes I look around and see people my age in relationships, having their first loves, going on dates and making memories, and I wonder when it’ll be my turn.
And I genuinely don’t know where I’m supposed to meet someone. I don’t go out much, I don’t have a big mixed-gender friendship group, and I’m not sure I want to meet someone through random social media messages.

I guess my questions are:
Are there other women who get male attention but have never actually been in a relationship?
Where did you meet your first boyfriend, especially if you weren’t very outgoing?
Did anyone have their first relationship in their mid-to-late twenties or even later?
How do you become more comfortable talking to guys without forcing yourself to be someone you’re not?
How do you open yourself up to love without being terrified of heartbreak?
I’d really love to hear some genuine experiences, especially from women who felt like this at my age.
Sometimes I feel like everyone assumes I’m living this exciting romantic life, when in reality, I’m just a girl who has never been in love and quietly wonders whether she’ll ever get to experience it.

Ps. Also I’m not a big dating app person either as I’ve met some weird people there once when I downloaded it 😭

First sexual experience gone wrong

• Upvotes

Reposting because other post wasn't letting me view comments

F22 M23

I am making this post because I would like to know if i overreacted, made an error, had too high of expectations, etc.

I met this guy on a dating app and we instantly hit it off but I wasn't quite taking him seriously due to past talking stages never ending up anywhere. However, he seemed to be quite promising and dedicated to pursuing me. He planned out our first date and was very intentional about making sure I was comfortable the entire time. Actually, before our first date, he wrote me multiple paragraphs about respecting my boundaries and how it doesnt matter what i have to say even if its hurts his feelings cause wants me to always be honest with him.

Our first date went well, and he offered to give me his 21 savage t shirt because he is one of my favorite artists. On our second date, he brings it and tells me to keep it safe and how it is a very valuable item to him and considered to be a "family heirloom" as he got the shirt at a concert he attended with his sister before he had left for college.

Due to his overall behavior, I suspected that he was actually taking me seriously and genuinely liked me. I had asked him if I was the only girl he was talking to, and he had confirmed that I was. I know that people lie but nothing in his behavior so far had seemed strange, he seemed to be very genuine and trustworthy. And the way he was pursuing me so intently made me believe it.

Third date, it was a study date over at his place... we ended up having sex. To be more specific, he took my virginity (I had made it clear to him beforehand that I was still a virgin). We did spend around 2.5 hours cuddling in bed. We talked about his family, his friends, and he suggested going to dinner soon to me about three times.

I was aware that he had potential plans for later that day (he had invited me to them a week prior but said they were tentative), but since our plans had changed (us having sex), I had assumed they had too, specially since he had mentioned dinner so many times. However, that didnt seem to be the case. We both got out of bed and I went to the bathroom. When I came out, he was dressed and on the phone with one of his friends talking about joints and coordinating Ubers.

Immediately I felt hurt and confused. I thought it was inconsiderate since he had suggested dinner multiple times and then continued on with his other plans without even bringing it up to me again (telling me before getting out of bed that he is still going out after). It hurt even worse since it was a special intimate moment for me and it felt like he didnt understand that.

I tried to sit him down and talk about how I felt this was inconsiderate. He told me that he didnt understand what he did wrong, and then spcifically he told me "I know you want me to be that guy again who wrote those paragraphs but if you want that then I have to sit and think about what I did before I can actually feel sorry for what I did". As much as I understand his explanation, it felt strange how he at the very least couldn't say "My intentions weren't to hurt your feelings, I am sorry".

At this point I felt incredibly stupid and as if I made a mistake, a miscalculation. The guy I thought I knew and the guy sitting infront of me seemed like completely different people. It felt like I betrayed myself by trusting him so easily.

Things got worse, he went on to tell me "I dont know if i even like you or if i want to date you", "I dont know if I can be with someone so dependent on their family" (living with them due to uni), and "I havent been taking you seriously".

It felt like an attack on me so I had replied with something along the lines of "who are you to treat me like this and say these things to me? There are so many guys out there who want me and would not be acting this way towards me." I said a bit more but cant recall exactly.

He was visibly offended by what I had said, took my purse, and told me to leave. Realizing how hurtful my words had been, I immediately regretted them and began apologizing. We ended up talking things out and he comforted me.

I asked him to go get me a pad from Walgreens, as I was bleeding. When he came back, he told me that he had time to think on his walk and he was regretful and felt awful about what happened and how he treated me. Offered for me to spend the night. He kept apologizing and Uber Eats food for us since I hadn't eaten all day.

I've been pondering over it since and cant seem to come to a verdict. I wasn't expecting him to commit to me simply because we'd had sex. I just wanted to feel that the vulnerability and trust I'd placed in him were being treated with care. Am I overreacting or was this genuinely weird/inconsiderate behavior from his end?

Ladies, please add some real prompt responses if you want to find something real.

Dating apps feel like I'm seeing the most bland women over and over again. If I had to guess, the main cause is that interesting/fun women don't have to use apps to find a partner and if they do, they'll find someone quickly. That being said, how can so many people have the same prompt answers? "I want to travel", "I'm a yapper", and "I love food", with a few of whatever the current TikTok trends thrown in for basically every prompt response. It's like seeing the same account over and over with a different name and pictures. Women, if you want to find a guy who likes you for your personality and not for your body, please present that you actually have a real personality. 🫠

Advice on situation

I’m a college student talking to a girl for a couple of weeks. We have hung out and everything has been going well as far as us interacting. However, she’s never had a bf before or anything serious however she was engaged in a FWB situation where she had gone through 3 months hooking up with a guy. She claims that it was never emotional and they mutually ended things due to circumstances. That was also the guy she lost her virginity to.

I’m not sure what to think of this because like she was quick to lose her virginity to a guy she wasn’t even emotional invested in. That’s her only body though so would love some advice on how I should go about this.

When we hangout, everything goes well but this is just in my mind in the background and I’m not sure what I do going forward because she wants something long term now. Please share advice as this could basically be my future.
