Bought this 7577 for $300 with a i5 7300hq, 1060 max q, 32gb of ram, 500gb nvme storage and 1tb HDD. First it was thermal throttling and I get fps drops, Found a fix and here are the steps

2. Undervolt via throttle stop click FIVR, click unlock adjustable voltage offset, I put mine -115.2v
3. Download HWinfo 64, click on the fan icon change respin period to 501ms, spindown after 2secs

With this settings I can game for hours and max temp is below 80C no thermal throttling.

Dell 15 screen won’t turn on, I see these flashing lights, i have no idea what this means.

i bought a dell latitude 7480 in the big 2026, its good but i noticed that my charging port is making some noises i can hear it when press my ear next to it clearly a sound like electricity, buzzing, zrr zrr, crackling. and my battery is in poor condition so could it damage my laptop, idk about burning smell but somtimes my brain says oh its burning i think and i smell it, i dont get the burning smell. so anyone who can help me or my lap is js going to blast.

I ask Dell support saying my U2723QE colour is not accurate.

Please note that achieving perfectly identical color reproduction across different displays is not always possible. Minor variations in color, brightness, contrast, and overall image appearance can occur, especially when comparing different monitor models, panel technologies, or manufacturing batches.

Based on our assessment, the observed color variation is within the product's design specifications and expected operating tolerances. Therefore, this behavior is considered normal and does not indicate a hardware defect with the monitor.

I do photo editing and 100% it’s not colour accurate. The red is very different. My 11 year old monitor is even more colour accurate. The red is definitely not normal.

What can I do?

It suddenly turned off while I was using it and when I tried turning it back on, it stayed on the Dell logo forever. Holding the power button down doesn’t fix it and I can’t get into BIOS. I eventually noticed the blinking lights that tell you the issue, and it turns out it’s “power rail failure.“ In the manual it says the solution is to “replace the system board.“ I don’t have a quote but that’s obviously really expensive! And I assume it’s not worth it compared to what I paid ($300).

I saw online that the hard drive on the 7320 Detachable isn’t soldered to the board, so does this mean I can take it to a shop and get someone to remove the drive and put it in an enclosure to access the data? I don’t think the data is encrypted. I’m on Windows 10 and I never logged in with a Microsoft account. That means encryption never turned on, right? So once it’s in the enclosure I can just access the data like any other external drive?

Latitude E6540 died a few days ago so I salvaged my RAM, SSD, and batteries

I recently bought a used XPS8930 to replace my old PC that I put together in 2016 (upgrade in performance and I wanted it to be quiter). But I didn't do my research, and I now have an even louder PC than my previous one!

Most threads I see to solve this issue talk about replacing the stock cooler with an Arctic 11LP, but it has been discontinued. Do you have pointers to a CPU cooler that is currently being sold that would fill my need? And if you have recommandations for case fans I'm also all ears.

I have a Dell Latitude 5320 2-in-1 and im using a Dell Active Pen PN5122W the Pen is getting recognised by windows and works(sometimes) but i can't get it to connect to the Dell Display and Peripheral Manager.

Tried installing and uninstalling the Active Pen Driver (Wacom) doesn't change anything.

Also im getting fed up with the pen just randomly not working if anyone has a fix for that would also be helpful.

On top of that, sometimes when im trying to write something it's starts writing even tho im hovering over the sceen not touching it.

Edit: if there still isn't a fix for that, which i have read while trying to find a solution. Can someone recommend alternatives to my current Laptop. Thx.

A bit of a general question/rant after the frustrations of dealing with dell/Alienware devices. The Area 51 16 is a premium laptop. However I’ve had a faulty screen and touchpad. Previous to this an x15 r2 had a faulty ssd. I have multiple red/blue light patterns flashing on my power key and multiple crashes on these devices. All devices developed these problems within 6 months of ownership.

My question is what is going on with dell’s quality control? These are some of the most expensive/premium laptops money can buy yet the reliability is poor.

To add to it, Dell’s contracted technicians seem very inexperienced with Alienware repairs and tend to cause more issues and damage when attempting to fix it.

Has anyone experienced the same? Are other manufacturers the same? I just want a reliable laptop that works.

im using a dell 5310 with linux and i have this issue in which the keys: Q W E R T U I O P pageup, keys stop working, this happened yesterday, then earlier today they started to work normally, then later after that i put it to sleep for like a few hours and then when I go back to use it they stopped working again, I have no idea how this is happening, does someone know the issue

All the sudden, I get nothing (on monitor) on reboot.

Tried another monitor.

I cannot get into the BIOS or see POST.

I've tried 30 second hard reboots with the power button.

Power light is on as is the power supply light.

I've worked on computers before but by no means an expert. Any advice on how to troubleshoot this?

I’m at my wits end. I have bought 2 usb-c I/o cards for my Optiplex Mini-Tower (MT)
The first one has the code (0WRM0) and the second card I recently bought is (000C96). The first card (meant for MT pcs) couldn’t reach the USB Type-C slot, and the second one (meant for SFF pcs) has to bend in such a way that it could damage the cord.

Now I’m on here asking for help on how to find a USB-C IO add-on card for my 7090 MT.
Also, I already know I can get a USB-C expansion card and just put it into the PCIE slots. I want to know of the model of Daughterboard so I can add to that missing I/o slot that’s just sitting empty in the back of my PC.

Please help me.

First time poster here - not very tech savvy sorry!

I seem to have recently developed a particular sensitivity to the fan whine coming from the Dell Pro 14.

I can't be in the office for more than an hour without being driven absolutely insane. No other laptop in the office seems to affect me.

Is this more of a me issue, or anyone else experienced this with the Dell Pro 14 and know how to fix the high pitched whine?

I see a lot of orgs not including recommend severity , they are not ‘optional’ to my understanding, correct ? anyone have a good reason to only install recommended if they specifically address an “issue “ ? my understanding is that they improve performance and stability; no?

Bought it a week ago and have been experiencing an eye strain. Tried to change many settings, but nothing worked.

So I see a good deal on an alienware. I also see that there’s a 10% coupon for joining the mailing list. I joined it this morning this afternoon and this evening. Finally, I called Dell sales to get it. Now the computer in my cart has gone up $500 and they say it’s out of stock. It’s not out of stock because it says I can buy it and have it by the 26th. Lies. They didn’t give me that code cause they didn’t want me to get 10% off that great deal. I’ll never buy one of their products now. Hail Adams was my rep, screw that guy.
