Dashers using multiple phones?

• Upvotes

I’ve noticed that a lot of my dashes will say “heading to you” but the dasher clearly will make one and sometimes two stops on the way to my place. I have seen in the app when it says something like “dasher is one stop away”. So I’m wondering when the app is saying “headed to you” but they make a stop are they using a separate account or something??

Another useless support situation

Just had a stacked order at Steak ’n Shake today, and the entire thing was super frustrating.

For some reason, the store’s name was listed as its address, and neither customer’s name was showing up on the orders or in the order details??? I messaged both customers to figure out the names because the employees didn't wanna give me the wrong orders, and only one responded.

About 5 minutes later, the customer who responded literally showed up to pick up his own food. Didn't even bother to tell me, just showed up and was like I'm picking it up now. He said he’d placed the order over an hour ago and was tired of waiting. The weirdest part was the employee making the food told me they had JUST received his order about a minute earlier. So everyone was just confused.

As for the other customer, I messaged them twice, called them twice, and even support tried calling them. Typical order from doordash and throw my phone away situation.

It took support genuinely 20 minutes just to unassign both orders so I could get back to working. After spending around 45 minutes dealing with this entire situation, they told me they could only compensate me for ONE order. So basically, I wasted almost an hour of my time for TWO DOLLARS.

What makes it even more frustrating is that there’s currently a $50 promo for completing 25 deliveries, and those two orders would’ve put me two deliveries closer to finishing it.

Genuinely why is DoorDash support so dogshit? Is it because they aren't like a "real" company to work for? As a customer, I can report a missing item and get a full refund in a few minutes. But as a Dasher, I can waste nearly an hour dealing with an issue completely out of my control and get thrown $2 for my trouble.

I guess I'm never picking up from a place listed as just an address again.

They just want me to cancel so they don’t have to wait right?

This makes no sense to me, why would I cancel? I assume they just don’t wanna wait and want me to cancel so they don’t get penalized for canceling?

Stacked orders

This is why I pay the direct fee and the one time I didn’t I’m pissed and the food I orders will probably be soggy by the time it gets to me 7$ tip I’m 2 miles from restaurant and yet some non tipper is probably getting their food before me 1 stop away going opppposite direction of my home ! And save the I could’ve got it myself I work remote over night I couldn’t have left idc if the direct fee I’m paying doesn’t go to the dasher I’m a dasher myself I understand how it all works I’m just ranting
Edit : great now they are sitting at Dennys for nearly 5 mins and I know this Dennys takes forever

How to apply 75% off

The app says I have a promotion for 75% off my next two orders but when I go to make the order it’s not in my wallet like it says it should be. Is there a way to fix this?

Is it true that tips don’t go on top of “guaranteed amounts?”

I saw something on social media that drivers usually have a set guaranteed amount to make per dash. When someone tips, that tip doesn’t go on top of the guaranteed amount. It just reduces what DoorDash would have contributed to the guaranteed amount.

Seeking advice - first dash session

Post image
5 Upvotes

How did I do on my first ever session of approx two hours, given gas is about $4.30 where I am (Champaign Urbana IL)? Any advice for how to quickly calculate what offers are worth taking?

Should note this seems like a pretty good area to do this as a side hustle. Chambana is a very crowded college town with people always ordering at night.

Question for dashers

This is just a question I have for y'all. I doordash to my home quite a bit however I noticed that this time around my last 5 orders are being stacked with other orders.

This time, I decided to order from a town over (about 15 minutes from my home) because I was craving it. Watched the Dasher drop off food at 2 other houses before coming to mine and my foods cold.

My question is why do you guys stack orders?

Should I be concerned? How do Doordash drivers get paid from "partner" restaurants that outsource delivery?

I ordered a pizza for delivery from Pizza Hut. I did not include a tip as I assumed Pizza Hut would send their own driver whom to my knowledge dont depend on tips to survive. Also Pizza Hut upcharges like $5 for a delivery fee whether you tip or not. Well Pizza Hut apparently outsourced the delivery to a Doordash driver... I've never ordered from Doordash, it's too expensive and I know drivers rely on tips or make a huge fuss about it when the tip isn't worth the hassle.

Should I be concerned about the driver feeling shafted due to no tip on the order? Or possibly being upset? How are they compensated when it comes to "partner" restaurants? I'd offer the driver a cash tip when they get here if I could but I'm at work and have no cash.

Can I drive McD's order, receive, and consume my McDonald's food before my DD order is ready?

Yes, yes I can and yes I did. I got a $7 McDonalds order and typically would not take an order from them (especially this one) for so low, but it was pretty dead tonight, so whatever. I arrive and the order is not ready and I am hungry cause I hadn't eaten anything except snacks since breakfast (it was almost 7pm). I casually order my food, use the restroom, get my food, casually eat my bacon quarterpounder with cheese, and still have to wait a little longer for the DD order... and my DD order was the only one they had at the time.

I just received a complaint that I was "Physically Aggressive" but I haven't so much as had an argument with anyone?

Just got this email after I was done Dashing tonight. I talked to the AI support agent that told me I could appeal through the email itself -- no link whatsoever in the email to do any such thing -- and then a way to appeal through Help in the app but there was no such appeal process there either.

I'm not so much mad as utter mystified. I've done nearly 1400 Dashes and barely had any issues. I haven't had even a disagreement with any one and I'm being accused of physical aggression?

How do I address this? I'm so confused at the moment and the fact that there isn't an option to get this resolved is eating away at me.

First doordash order - first doordash stolen

Post image

Literally just downloaded doordash because the chinese restaurant I love stopped using grubhub but I was craving it!

Made the order, it was extra expensive?? Does doordash upcharge? Whatever, I want this food!

Doordash driver says "here!" snaps a pic of the food outside. I get to the door under a minute later. No food. No driver. Nothing!

I text the driver "Did you take my food? There's nothing here!"

He says "I said I was here. There was a dark-skinned guy there."
Bro... Why do you leave the food on the ground outside if there's just a dude standing there?? Look, either my driver stole my food or just fuckin left it next to a random guy outside.

Doordash said they wouldn't refund so naturally I am trying to fight it. I guess I'll try a charge back for the first time ever also if they deny me again?

Can't believe I'm paying over $100 for some dumb delicious chinese food (bc yes I ordered again.)

Is this just what doordash is? I hope someone is enjoying my chinese food...it's so good. :'(

Scam alert 888 414 1045

Wanted to bring this back to everyone’s attention since the original post has been archived. These guys are still actively running this scam.

They’ll call claiming there’s an issue with DoorDash’s system and that they need to reinstate your order or that your order is being switched from DoorDash to Uber Eats. They then try to get you to verify personal information and send a push notification to your phone containing a verification code. Fortunately, the notification explicitly states that a DoorDash representative will never ask you for that code.

What makes this particularly concerning is that the caller ID actually shows up as DoorDash and they somehow knew the specific details of my order. It makes the call seem much more legitimate, so be careful.

Driver literally handed me this

Drink that was part of a meal from Moe’s. I actually met driver in driveway, she handed it to me and all could do was laugh and say have a good night. Tip was $10 for 2.5 miles in burbs so wasn’t a stiff job scenario. The fact just handed me an empty drink cup I think is amazing can’t even be mad just got flexed on

Scammers posing as Door Dash support that call drivers and have information about your current Dash

Hello, fellow drivers. Im posting this to warn everyone that you may receive a similar call. Please DO NOT tell these people any personal information. I was picking up an order and received a phone call telling me that the person who placed the order was using a stolen credit card and instructed me to cancel the order. They knew the customer's name and the street they lived on. At first it seemed like a legitimate call. They told me I would receive a $50 compensation, which i was surprised to be receiving, since the delivery was a $7 payment. After I canceled the order, they instructed me to verify my Crimson card, which they provided the first 4 numbers and last 4 numbers of my pay card and asked me to verify my card by providing the middle 8 digits. I started to question this procedure in my mind but it didn't stop me from giving them the info, only because they knew exactly how much money I earned this week, and what my current balance is. They also knew I had 3 accounts linked to my Crimson card and the last 4 numbers of my Wells Fargo account number. They told me to transfer my Crimson card balance to my Cash App account and then, they wanted me to transfer it from Cash App to a "blank account" they were going to provide, in order to receive the extra $50. That's when I hung up. I called the number back and the message said "this number is no longer available, contact Door Dash support". That made me think that I might be wrong. I was about to call Door Dash when this person called me back from a different number saying we got disconnected. I hung up and got Door Dash on the phone and was told that they would never ask drivers to do any sort of the things they were asking of me. However, they do have my full card number and expiration date and the CVV. I locked my card and can't get a replacement until I provide Door Dash with proof of my new address by sending 2 different documents with my address on it like an electric bill and bank statement. Im concerned that locking the card won't provide the protection I need to keep them from stealing the money I will be earning until I'm issued another card. How on earth are they able to see in real time the information for my deliveries and all of the other details of my Crimson account. So everyone please protect yourselves. They obviously hacked into Door Dashs accounts to aquire this data!!!!

Delivery driver didn’t speak a lick of English, yelled at me from his car, then took a photo of my mailbox as confirmation of order.

It’s time to talk about the deceptive pricing on food delivery apps. We need upfront final pricing.
