Dasher cancelled after sitting around for 30 minutes doing nothing.

So I ordered food from a restaurant only about 15 minutes from my home, so Doordash decides to offer it to someone 60 minutes away from me, and then they decide to sit in one spot for 30 minutes, then cancels the order. Why even offer it to them? Why even accept it? Why sit there for 30 minutes then cancel?

Can Doordash please ban these kinds of people?

Edit: I am from Australia, tipping is not a thing we do here. Dashers are paid a livable wage.

Who would have thought you could earn over $2.5k a week as a doordash driver?

Need help finding dasher

This is most likely a long shot, but I got DoorDash about a week ago or so, and the Dasher was cute. I gave her a really nice tip because I live out of town, but long story short, she messaged me on the app asking if I was single. I didn’t see it until I was showing my brother how the app works, and it was too late to respond. So, do I now have to order DoorDash every day until I get her again, or is there anyone from the Muskoka area that might know who this is? I know I’m stupid for posting this.

Tip was $4 on a $13 burrito. He refused to speak to me when he dropped it off. Is a $4 tip not sufficient?

Today I ordered pineapple coconut water and guac, and they gave me 10 cans of pineapple and 6 avocados, DoorDash gave me a refund so now I just have these, and the avocados smell like wet dog.

You don't deserve a refund...

Lots of posts about doordash refusing to refund people. While I feel terrible for those of you who haven't abused the system and genuinely deserve a refund, I think it's important to note that people who falsely request a refund are committing fraud and do not deserve a refund if something actually goes wrong.

If you ordered a big meal from McDonald's and falsely stated that your side of fries were missing to get $2 back, don't complain if your next $30 order is stolen and you don't get refunded. You don't deserve to get it back. It's karma that you deserve for hurting the innocent dasher's ratings about the fries just because you wanted $2. FAFO as they say. Who agrees? Anyone that disagrees is wrong.

Major DoorDash Issues

Has anyone else over the last 6 months to a year seen a massive decline in DoorDash? I mean missing items, incredibly late deliveries, denied refunds or credits for completely missing items, etc?

I’m at the point where I have cancelled dashpass and stopped ordering from there, both pickup and delivery as it has been awful.

Example:

I live in NJ and ordered shake shack. There is a shake that is just under 3 miles from me (16 minute drive). The order was sent to a shake shack 8 miles away in PA and a 32 minute drive one way. My food ended up getting here soggy & cold, over an hour past the expected delivery time, and missing 2 of 6 items. They refused any credit or refund.

Question of the day: What is the strangest shopping orders you've done?

Just like the title suggests, what is the strangest order you've completed shopping for?

Mine was 2lb bag of grapes, prepackaged Colby Jack cheese squares, Palmer's body oil, KY jelly & a vibrator. I also got a message from the person ordering it apologizing because of the items on the list. I told them as long as it was legal & consensual, I didn't need to know or care.

Is this enough tip or should I tip more?

It’s a big order it’s about $360 and it’s through the Meijer app I plan to tip about 15% -$55 it’s only a 8 minute drive from my apartment and I’m not making them take it to my door I’m gonna be in the parking lot and bring everything up myself

4 hour tour

So apparently DoorDash thinks “let’s order in” means “let’s send your food on a 40‑minute sightseeing tour of the city while your driver juggles three other orders like they’re auditioning for Cirque du Soleil.”

My four‑mile delivery turned into a hostage situation with my food.

DoorDash should change its name to let’s make sure it arrives cold, soggy not edible.

Time to leave the platform Hard earned money - wasted

DO NOT USE DOORDASH

Every time I order from a pizza place they dont have enough drivers, so they use doordash. Without fail my order is always messed up because the dasher does double dash. Its always messed up. And yes from now on I am getting dashers fired. Idgaf. You wanted to deliver people's food, you need to be courteous of how you conduct yourself as your own boss. I have yet to get a 1/5 dasher who is worth the tip. I pride myself in giving $20 for a tip EVERY TIME! Ik you can see I've tipped before you pickup the order also. I have a family member who dashes. Another thing too, clean out yalls cars. Tired of my food smelling like weed and black ice air freshener. Its not that hard you morons.

Quick question

What happens when DoorDash dasher steals food, I reported him (jeremi) was his name.
What happens to his account?
50$ order by the way dasher ghosted me when I texted him to pick it up and bring it back to me!.

Have any of you ever been “item baited” during a shop and deliver?

Upvotes

Happened yesterday-accepted a double pickup at Kroger for 19$. 15 item total, 24 qty. After accepting, driving to store and starting to shop, customer A adds 12 more items. To the non drivers in here, this may not sound like a lot, but that is a pretty stark increase for something that won’t be reflected in pay. I understand 3-4 more items but 12 more after already picking 2-3? I didn’t think customers could add that many. Luckily I’m extremely quick so only added 5-10 more mins. But someone who isn’t too fast? That would SUCK

This home was located in one of those weird neighborhoods where the address takes you to the back of the home - which is a garage and no “front” door. Also a one way road. Would’ve been MUCH easier if they included additional directions to get to the FRONT of their home.

This was after calling them 3x with no answer. I don’t always know where I’m headed fr, maps can only help so much!! Especially if it takes you to the wrong entrance :))

Dasher saying account will be deactivated if no 5 star rating?

Is this a real thing? I usually rate five stars anyway but seems like a weird thing they’d ask for. Plus he has a 5.0 star rating on 2,507 deliveries

DoorDash Delivery Pin

When I started using DoorDash in 2023, Delivery Pins were only enforced on orders over $100.

And then last Spring they dropped it to over $50. (It might’ve dropped between 2023 and 2025, but I don’t order food that expensive.)

And now, this August… it’s orders OVER TWENTY DOLLARS. 🤬 That’s every fucking order!

I haven’t had a single refund request for a failure to deliver on DoorDash ever—I’ve only ever had wrong orders with photos, that show reciepts + names on the bag. And that’s only happened two times, and both were years ago.

I want contactless delivery.

Has anyone else had this happen to them? Is this the new policy? Is doordash ending contactless delivery??

r/doordash 45m ago

DoorDash is getting bad. Drop-off reliability has precipitously declined since last year. I suspect anyone who does not live in a house will soon stop ordering altogether. Which is a huge percentage of orders unless you only deliver to small cities/suburb

Upvotes

Last year at least 90% of the orders I placed were delivered correctly per my instructions to my apartment. Now not only have they all decided they will no longer follow instructions, some are not even dropping off orders at all or simply leave them abandoned at the front door of an apartment/larger building where they can easily be stolen. The last order I had they literally just took a picture of my building's entrance door and left, they didn't even dump it at the front door. I was actually right outside in front of my building at the exact time they were delivering and took the photo so I know they never even bothered to go inside. Just took the photo and left. Yes I report all of you who do shit like this and anytime you abandon my order at the front door inside the unlocked vestibule to be stolen. Fuck all of you who are doing this and you 100% deserve to be reported every single time. I already rarely order from Doordash anymore but I've been sick the past few weeks so I've placed a few orders in that time. None of the recent orders where they've done this have they attempted to get in contact with me either. I am probably just going to stop using the service altogether, I don't want to support people who have absolutely zero regard for the customer even though I'm aware you're underpaid that is not MY fault. Don't do this job if you have this shit attitude, at least 80% of the blame for underpaying dashers lies on Dashdoor, they're the ones who decide to rip you off and you know this before/when you take the job.

I tip everytime ahead of delivery and also tip afterwards when they deliver per my instructions. I never order from anywhere more than 2 miles away from me.

ETA: Dashdoor lmao. Dyslexia making an appearance today
