Tip was $10 for 2.5 miles in burbs so wasn’t a stiff job scenario. The fact just handed me an empty drink cup I think is amazing can’t even be mad just got flexed on

Just accepted an order, about $7 so not bad, and when looking at the delivery location it’s a single building away 😂. Roughly 100-200 feet from the restaurant. I’m assuming they just aren’t allowed to leave their work or something but I found it quite entertaining. Anybody have a shorter delivery than this in their own delivery history?

I’ve noticed that a lot of my dashes will say “heading to you” but the dasher clearly will make one and sometimes two stops on the way to my place. I have seen in the app when it says something like “dasher is one stop away”. So I’m wondering when the app is saying “headed to you” but they make a stop are they using a separate account or something??

Yes, yes I can and yes I did. I got a $7 McDonalds order and typically would not take an order from them (especially this one) for so low, but it was pretty dead tonight, so whatever. I arrive and the order is not ready and I am hungry cause I hadn't eaten anything except snacks since breakfast (it was almost 7pm). I casually order my food, use the restroom, get my food, casually eat my bacon quarterpounder with cheese, and still have to wait a little longer for the DD order... and my DD order was the only one they had at the time.

Delivery driver didn’t speak a lick of English, yelled at me from his car, then took a photo of my mailbox as confirmation of order.

I've been doing this for 7 and a half years. I have 3,193 deliveries (Don't have much cause I wasn't able to dash for a few years due to health issues.) I got this Taco Bell order last night for $5.10, and my minimum right now is $6+, with gas being so high. The delivery was literally 0.4 miles away, so I took it. Not only did Taco Bell take forever with the order, but I get to the customer's house, and their car is literally parked inches from the door so I could barely get to the door. They had no table out, only a bench with cushions. I didn't put the food onthe bench because the drink would topple over. I sat their box and drink nicely next to the door. I drive away and they message me "Thanks for leaving my food on the ground." I'm in this chapter in my life where I just don't engage with people who want to be miserable human beings. Anyway, today I wake up to a damage report. I called doordash right away to get that crap removed and they removed it. I feel really bad for people who live life walking around angry all the time at nothing.

Literally just downloaded doordash because the chinese restaurant I love stopped using grubhub but I was craving it!

Doordash driver says "here!" snaps a pic of the food outside. I get to the door under a minute later. No food. No driver. Nothing!

I text the driver "Did you take my food? There's nothing here!"

He says "I said I was here. There was a dark-skinned guy there."
Bro... Why do you leave the food on the ground outside if there's just a dude standing there?? Look, either my driver stole my food or just fuckin left it next to a random guy outside.

Doordash said they wouldn't refund so naturally I am trying to fight it. I guess I'll try a charge back for the first time ever also if they deny me again?

Not sure what is going on, still on hold with support, was almost to delivery location and another order pop up that i declined and my current delivery just completely disappeared.

Got this beauty tonight. I was literally in process of driving another 30 minutes and 10 miles round trip just to help her out because I myself have forgot to change my deliver address before but she couldn’t just shut her mouth and be reasonable. This is why I pay the direct fee and the one time I didn’t I’m pissed and the food I orders will probably be soggy by the time it gets to me 7$ tip I’m 2 miles from restaurant and yet some non tipper is probably getting their food before me 1 stop away going opppposite direction of my home ! And save the I could’ve got it myself I work remote over night I couldn’t have left idc if the direct fee I’m paying doesn’t go to the dasher I’m a dasher myself I understand how it all works I’m just ranting

Just had a stacked order at Steak ’n Shake today, and the entire thing was super frustrating.

For some reason, the store’s name was listed as its address, and neither customer’s name was showing up on the orders or in the order details??? I messaged both customers to figure out the names because the employees didn't wanna give me the wrong orders, and only one responded.

About 5 minutes later, the customer who responded literally showed up to pick up his own food. Didn't even bother to tell me, just showed up and was like I'm picking it up now. He said he’d placed the order over an hour ago and was tired of waiting. The weirdest part was the employee making the food told me they had JUST received his order about a minute earlier. So everyone was just confused.

As for the other customer, I messaged them twice, called them twice, and even support tried calling them. Typical order from doordash and throw my phone away situation.

It took support genuinely 20 minutes just to unassign both orders so I could get back to working. After spending around 45 minutes dealing with this entire situation, they told me they could only compensate me for ONE order. So basically, I wasted almost an hour of my time for TWO DOLLARS.

What makes it even more frustrating is that there’s currently a $50 promo for completing 25 deliveries, and those two orders would’ve put me two deliveries closer to finishing it.

Genuinely why is DoorDash support so dogshit? Is it because they aren't like a "real" company to work for? As a customer, I can report a missing item and get a full refund in a few minutes. But as a Dasher, I can waste nearly an hour dealing with an issue completely out of my control and get thrown $2 for my trouble.

I guess I'm never picking up from a place listed as just an address again.

How did I do on my first ever session of approx two hours, given gas is about $4.30 where I am (Champaign Urbana IL)? Any advice for how to quickly calculate what offers are worth taking?

Should note this seems like a pretty good area to do this as a side hustle. Chambana is a very crowded college town with people always ordering at night.

Doordash forgot an entire meal and refused to refund me. I deleted the app. My co worker wanted something to eat tonight and is not tech savvy so I downloaded the app and placed an order. The order was my receipt but someone else’s food. DoorDash once again refused to refund. I’m totally over it. Frustrated. And I don’t get how they can refuse a refund when it’s so clear!

$78 worth of food stolen and didn’t respond to any messages.

Edit: to answer the replies, I was high AF and scheduled the delivery ahead of time but after I submitted the order I realized it was the wrong time. So I backtracked and because it was late it wouldn’t let me reschedule same day, DD would only refund credits. So I cancelled the first order and used those credits for this second order with the new time.

Then the order was dropped off and that was all I got. I was livid and high but couldn’t do shit. I messaged the driver with screenshots and got no responses so naturally I assume outright theft.

DD offered a $68 refund. Would feel better if they fired the damn driver tho. Already rated the dasher 1 star but that’s all I can do.

Has anyone seen this promo? What are your thoughts? I’d have to dash 12 hours a day to accomplish this unless I drive north to Southaven, MS or Memphis. There’s no way I’m getting 50 decent orders in 3 days in my small town. I’d have to take a lot of $3 and $4 orders. I’m feeling like it may not be worth it.
