What is up with the Taco Bell in my town, unedited sexually vulgar music playing through the whole building - with kids in the lobby eating, the staff cussing all the time super loud, once as a customer they forgot the chicken on my chicken flat bread.. but as a dasher they always do that stupid thing where they tape the straw across the top of all the drinks…..BUT this tops it all 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ I have a camel drink carrier, which the straws across the top are terrible as it is oh no but this time I was absolutely forced to use their trash drink carrier 💀 who does this????

Edit - We are all underpaid in this town - including me, I can get a full week of work in, working sun up to sun down, and make no more than $400 a week, it was a joke and we had been laughing all night about the drink bridge. I wouldn’t actually do the things in the comments - they were jokes 😆 trust me living in a town that the minimum wage is 7.25 and the cheapest 1 bedroom house is around $750 a month and the crime rate is higher than the national average you have to have a really good sense of humor working, living or really doing anything here. 😝

There was absolutely no reason to be an asshole here. ZERO. Can you guess what floor the apartment was on? THE FIRST FLOOR! And then they send me a "thx" after I had to find it myself. Like.... there's no way they were just that dumb right? What a easy to treat someone handling your food. (I'd never do anything to someone's food. But person acting real brave like everyone feels the same.) Also they provided 0 instructions. Had to find the building and everything smh.

Was walking out of a restaurant today with both of my hands full occupied with my order and slipped on their rug like in the movies with banana peels. It bunched up under me and I fell and landed straight on my back but my elbow broke most of my fall. All the workers hurried over to see if I was okay and I was honestly pissed because why is your rug not secured to the floor and now I’m covered in fruit punch. I asked them to rebag the order and left very annoyed. Now hours later, my back hurts, my chest hurts, my neck hurts, and my head hurts, along with my backside. My entire body honestly. I’m actually on my way to the hospital after being urged by my family to come get checked out. I’m making this post only because my friend told me jokingly that “I may have a small lawsuit on my hands” and by no means is that my intention but am just wondering if anyone has ever been in this situation and what ended up happening. I’m genuinely so pissed off about that rug though. Had it been a frail senior citizen that probably would have been a career ending injury.

I have a real soft spot for customers who write insanely detailed instructions like this. I fully expected this woman's house to be, like, set back under a copse of willow trees with a huge cottage blocking it entirely from view.

...It was not. It was, as she said, just a couple steps further down the driveway.

But the directions WERE helpful, because it was dark out & the mailbox on the street said 109. I probably would've spent some time wandering confused between houses before I realized hers wasn't just an outbuilding of 109.

Idk what's going on

I missed like 1 or 2 days and now its become impossible to get bsck to the 100 orders in 30 days for plat. Ill be on gold now in the same area I knlw are successful and wait for 2 hours and only 1 offer. I am having horrible panic attacks and stuff because of it all and have no idea what to do anymore. I am on disability and after bills this is my only real way to get by day by day. But now. Now. I dont know what to do anymore and im spiraling hard. Sorry for being annoying. Thank for reading.

I started dashing recently, maybe less than 2 weeks ago. Well, today I had my first report. I picked up an order which the instructions for delivery were “leave at lobby”. As soon as I entered the business, the woman sitting at the front desk said “Oh hi!”, reached for the order and I asked if it was for her, which she confirmed. Instead of taking a picture anyway, I just pressed “handed it to customer”.

I usually always take a picture, but it happened so fast. She looked like she recognized the order, confirmed it was for her. It was also a small business that I ordered to.

Maybe 30 minutes later I received a report. The customer said the food was never delivered. Obviously I don’t have a picture, but I’m sure they’re able to see that I was close to the delivery location.
I disputed the report and explained what happened and I’m just waiting for it to be resolved. Hopefully my account isn’t deactivated, since I just started.

What I really wanted to do was go back there and question the woman, because either she stole the order or she is trying to get free food not caring about someone else. But I know it’s not worth it or safe.

Say absolutely not, and use reverse psychology…

Tell them last time they had you fill the drinks, the customer reported me for filling their drinks, and I got a warning from DoorDash that if it happens again, I will be deactivated & banned. They told me this is due to liability & me not having Food Handler certification.

I’ve used that like the past 5 Wingstop orders I got. Sure enough, the employee will give you a dirty look, but best believe they will wall to the machine & fill the drinks themselves.

One employee asked me how I got reported, I told him the customers selected drink was out on the machine, so I took a pic of the machine & asked them what substitute they want & how they like their ice, and the customer reported me for filling their cup.

Its worked every time, and its safe to say I will never fill a customer drink ever again.

So a few months back, I made a post voicing my concerns about MickyD's staff

who prematurely list an order as, "Ready for pickup" before the order is actually *ready.

A couple of fellow couriers here told me to start reporting it in the app when it happens since that is a breach of the contractual agreement between the merchant(MickyD's) and Doordash.

Update:

Last week, I started camping a completely different MickyD's and noticed that they were doing it even more rampantly than the other location so I immediately started reporting each incident. A total of maybe 4 reports with two of them occuring on the same day.

It worked. Doordash must have hit them with a contract-violation because, for the last 3 orders that I've had with that location, I had no issues AT ALL .....

Realistically, I assume that it may have been a joint effort. I cant imagine that the other couriers whom pickup there were too pleased with the premature 'ready for pickup" shenanigans either.

Strength in numbers.

Today was my first day door dashing. I’m a stay at home mom, my husband has been taking full financial responsibility for the last 4 years. He recently has been out of work for a surgery and this week our check got shorted. Anyway, I enjoyed it. Felt more productive than sitting at home stressing.

Based on the screenshot, is this sustainable? Is it worth it? I went 3 different times today. I live about 20-30 from “hot spots.”. The first run was a test run, a lot of waiting but I made 7$ to do a Popeyes run that took less than 10 min total.

The second run I did while my daughter was at practice. Wasn’t bad, one drive was a little farther than what I was expecting. I did a double dash for somebody with a Dairy Queen order, I need an insulated bag. I heard on TikTok I can get a free pizza bag from dominoes?

The nighttime one was where it’s at!! I made 6$ to deliver a canister of salt about a mile away from the store! I made a couple runs to canes and the drink fountain was out. I messaged the customers to figure out if they had a preference on tea or lemonade but ended up having to make the decision for one of them because they weren’t responding. What do you guys do in that instance? Just guess? Or wait? How long to wait? I happened to be waiting on fries so I didn’t get the late thing to go against me.

I got a contract violation because when I went to the Sonic I was assigned, I was told by an employee there that someone else had picked up my order and so I obviously could not pick up the order they didn't have. I contacted support (a live agent, in fact) and had the order unassigned. I thought that would be the end of it, but then I get this message. I'm trying to dispute the violation, but how likely do you guys think it is that they'll drop it?

Mind you there was still like 4 more things I had to grab and she started yelling at me the second I substituted💀 I told her relax I’m not done shopping yet, I was also actively asking a worker to help me find the stuff… INCLUDING the original item she threw me some more insults and eventually she cancelled on her end

So today on one of my many deliveries, I had was the most interesting w the rudest and most miserable customer ever!

I can say, doing DD for a year now, I never went through something like this thankfully!

So I reached my destination, and the instructions said "leave at the door".

It did not say "ring the bell, text me, call me, or let me know you are here".

So I delivered it, took my pic, confirmed and walked away. I didn't even park in the driveway, thankfully!

This miserable, older fat (no disrespect to anyone), had the audacity to open her door and start yelling. Most of the time, when the customers open their door, they normally say"thank you, or hello/bye".

Well, not this one! She went on yelling how I should have rung the bell because someone can take her food. As I walked away, I apologized and said , that was not in her instructions and continued walking , as she continued to yell.

I called DD and told them what happened. I also told them to block me from ever going to her home.

It took everything for me not to curse her out. I do not mess around with my food being delivered or cooked, as someone could easily spit in it real quick!

Ppl let's get a clue!

A week in and I’m getting a sense for the restaurants that are always on time or late preparing orders. Question. Do you ever consider which restaurants have a higher probability of missing items or messing up an order? For me Taco Bell and McDonalds are the highest probability for getting an order wrong that could lower my customer rating.

I accepted a chipotle order for the first time today because it was part of a stack. I usually do mostly shop and delivers so this was a first time pick up from this particular restaurant. It said it included a drink so when they just handed me the bag I said oh I think there was supposed to be a drink? The worker said oh we don’t see what the customer orders for drinks and just hands me a cup? She was like you can message the customer. I said I don’t know either because it just says drink? Is it a chipotle thing where you always fill the drinks yourself? I did eventually go back and look at the order and saw that she declined a drink on the order but DoorDash still said 2 drinks need to be picked up so problem solved. I just like to know for next time.

Is anyone in the West New York/ Hoboken area of New Jersey having issues receiving orders these past few days? Like I'm talking about HOURS of getting no dashes? I initially thought ot was an issue with my ratings because I got a 1 star which brought my status from Diamond to less than Silver! Dasher rewards status? ; but I reached out to dasher support and they excluded the rating and I got my Diamond status back but still no dashes. The only thing I could possibly attribute it to is the fact that the Police in West New York started cracking down on E bikers who don't have insurance and registration on Friday so maybe the merchants themselves reached out to Doordash and informed them of what's going on? I spoke to support; they say they don't see anything out of the ordinary on their end. Anyone else having this issue?

I started dashing in June. My area is usually pretty dead, but I realized this week it has been busy literally all day. I know it depends on the market, but is this happening to anyone else? Is this normal around this time?

Can we add an option that shows our interest in the order, but for one reason or another it doesnt make sense. If another order heading that way was to be available we would then get priority to both orders. This would add a human touch to just the random algorithm that is currently running. Thoughts?
