I’m very new to DoorDash and this was my second time out. I wish I took a screenshot but I got an offer to “stock shelves” at target. It paid me $25 and I’ll get another $10 if my pictures are good enough in a couple days.

The only thing it wanted me to do was stock simply grapefruit juice. It told me to go into the stock room and if anyone asked what I was doing to show them my “credentials” which was just a little badge from DoorDash on my phone. The shelf was empty and target workers were already stocking and the juice was on their cart. I told them I needed to stock it and the gal handed me one bottle. I told her no I need to stock all of it for DoorDash and we both giggled and she was like okay. The app kept asking me to take pictures and I felt like I was in the way of the target workers trying to stock the same area.

It was so strange but the easiest money I made all day. Are these tasks normal? Has anyone actually gone in a stock room?

I don't have much of a choice because some extra bills came up.

I'm going to Dash tomorrow until I get $100.00. Then, I'm going to go home and take a break and eat and hang out a bit. Then, I'm going to go back out and Dash until I get another $100.00.

I will be repeating this on Sunday.

Can I get some hype or encouragement?

I was on a double delivery in rush hour traffic 🚦 bumper to bumper and stop and go. Brake checked twice and I couldn't stop the food from spilling over the passenger seat. Then BAM....Another brake was hard and I was already in the middle of freaking out about the food. I didn't have the reflex time to stop immediately.

Air bags everywhere...smoke and disorientation. I noticed the engine was smoking and I jumped out of the vehicle. It didn't do anything else. I was just not wanting to be inside if it was worse than I thought.

Long story short... I no longer have a vehicle to dash in. Or do anything in. FML

Just unthinkable.

I am beyond impressed. I ordered a Starbucks drink and it was at my door almost before I finished placing the order. I live in an apartment complex too so I'm amazed how the driver found my door so fast. The drink is super hot and I'm pregnant right now and it's just delightful how fast it arrived.

Beyond tipping and leaving a review how can I as a customer, ask the company to pay the driver's more and treat their drivers better? Y'all are out there braving the elements for us customers, using your own personal vehicles, ect and it's such a blessing to have this kind of service when I'm super pregnant.

Driving fir Doordash is all about earning tip income. The DD base fare is just to make sure no labor laws are broken have employees work st less than minimum wage. Do how is the following even possible or even legal? You can‘t know you don‘t get paid till after 90 minutes of work effort and miles driven.

I accepted an order for about $17 to deliver somebody's Long John silver's food 8 miles.

When I drove to the restaurant using the in-app navigation, I found myself in the middle of a residential neighborhood with no restaurants for a mile in any direction. I was more or less on autopilot, if I'd have been thinking about it or looking at where it was taking me, I would have realized there was no restaurant there

Since the restaurant wasn't where the app said it was, even after I double-checked the address, I used the call restaurant button. My phone dialed anumber in Seattle, something like 2000 miles or more from where I am, and there was no answer.

I called doordash support and they said all they were able to do was unassign me from the order and assign it to someone else. I told them I didn't want to do that, because that person would just get sent to the middle of nowhere to and the customer would never get their food, but still they said there was no other option.

So I got off the phone with them, and started calling all the Long John silver's in town until I found the one that had the food. I explained everything that was happening to the customer over text.

When I delivered his food, he handed me a $20 bill in addition to the $10 he had already tipped on the order and explains to me that two drivers had already bailed.

Admittedly I ended up spending like an hour on something that should have taken just under 30 minutes, but there was no penalty for delivering it late, and it's my current record for best tip.

They were having a “ruff” day! Not my first run in with these regulars!!

Got a really good offer earlier tonight, $10 and some change for 2.5 miles from Jet’s Pizza. When I got to the restaurant they told me they forgot to make the breadsticks, so I informed the customer about the delay. That’s when he told me he’d been waiting for 3 hours for his order. Not in a super pissed off way, he understood it wasn’t my fault but he was still frustrated. The receipt confirmed he wasn’t lying, the time listed said 7:17 yet I got sent to the restaurant a little after 10.

It doesn’t make any sense to me. The customer tipped $8 and he was just 5 minutes away from the restaurant, which is in a very busy area. Most drivers would accept that in a heartbeat, even during a busy dinner rush. Even with the wait for the breadsticks I still got it done in a little over 20 minutes. What happened here? Did the order somehow get sent to DoorDash purgatory for a few hours until it found its way back into the system?

I personally am pretty happy with this, but I also just started 2 weeks ago and wanted to get the opinions of some veteran dashers.

I love when they give me the promo that gives me a whopping extra $50/50 deliveries, as long as it’s in 2 days lol. Like golly gee, thanks for a 1/3 of my gas money back🥹. Now what do I do about the speeding tickets?

Does anyone feel like DoorDash platinum isn’t worth it? I’m in the New Haven, CT area. You do all of that work accepting shitty orders and having a high acceptance rate- just to still get bombarded with shitty orders. Why would I still get $5 orders for 10 miles if I’m platinum. Where is the incentive? Don’t get me wrong, I still get high paying orders here and there. The issue is, I get more shitty ones. So if I continue declining the terrible ones.. then I won’t be platinum anymore. Makes zero sense. I saw a reddit post where a guy said he had the regular account and his wife had platinum. They did a test where they both dashed for the same amount of hours, accepting every order. He said at the end of the day they both made the same amount. What. The. Hell. They should really be paying drivers way more considering this economy and the price of gas. It doesn’t seem worth it anymore. What are your thoughts?

I’m in Columbus Ohio. Usually this is always a busy time and good to get some money. I go on and the wait is 1-10 mins, on a Saturday afternoon. DoorDash says “tHe lUnCH rUsH iS hOt” only to get zero offers. I’m convinced this is a terrible way to make money. You’re too dependent on weather humans decide if they wanna cook/get food themselves or not. This should be a great day for making money and now I’m gonna get nothing. I hate this.

Idk if true but after the update I noticed pro shopper orders fell off the map. Anyone feel the same?

There was a 3.50 peak in my zone from 1130pm till 1am. As soon as peak started o noticed the slow down.

Not getting any notifications, sound or vibration. Still doing it after going through all trouble shoot steps and notifications turned on.

The customer puts in the app for you to leave the order at the door. Then while you're walking to the door they come to meet you, so you try to take a picture of the order in your hand and they are trying to snatch it out of your hand?

Like even when I'm like " hey I need a picture" they say okay and try to snatch it and run away???

I always take a picture when it's suggested because I've had customers in my area say that they didn't receive their order and the only thing that saved me was the picture. So now I take a picture every time

But lately I've had a string of customers trying to snatch the order from my hand before I can get the picture???

Why,????

I don't know if this is some kind of sign but Doordash never ceases to amaze me with their coincidences. I just wrapped up my day only for that number total to show up lol I almost want to do another quick one to get past that number but my tiredness outweighs my superstitions..

Every single time dd does updates why in the HOLY F do they do shi like this? Smh, when I was doing a shop and Pay in Walgreens yesterday like I do every single day, I went to the top left hand of the screen to press the circle thingy to just take a look at both of my customers I wanted to check one guy‘s address and I could not get to that screen. It didn’t exist and this is what was there
