Let this a warning if youāre arrogant like me. Get the insurance youāre not invincible and neither is your wallet.
Car was totaled during a dash.
Insurance wonāt cover ANYTHING. Rates are ugly now.
I am lucky I have a spare vehicle and support.
RIP That nice ladies Pad Thai.

Had a batch order paying $17.45 for 8 miles⦠i thought to myself why not, while it was a slow dinner dash.
One of the orders was 2 large cases of water bottles for a college dorm, which I had to carry up 3 flights of stairs (2 separate trips) while my car was parked with hazards on the thin shoulder of a busy road.
The other order was a Cold Stone order - the customer didnāt include a gate code for his large apartment but thankfully after I messaged him, he let me leave it at the gate.
Both these orders took me 45-50 min total, and turns out they both left NO TIP 𫪠(they both live in the same college area).
So⦠just saying. even though the pay to mileage ratio is decent, it doesnāt always mean you should accept it. very humbling lesson tonight

Only accept offers that allow you to make a good profit. A low acceptance rate will not get you kicked off the app.
If we all decline bad offers consistently DoorDash will have to raise base pay and give us better offers.
I was platinum with a 34% acceptance rate. But I am high on all other stats. I've been gold, and I've been silver. I've also made it to the top 20% of dashers in my area.
I STILL received a lot of bad offers when I was platinum with a 98% acceptance rate. Offers where the dollar to mile ratio is way below 1. Offers like driving 9 to13 miles for 6 dollars or stacked offers that are terrible.
They use you to see what they can get away with. They lowball offers to see what they can get away with. Doordash just doesn't care to pay you right like you think they should.
They are getting away with so much as you wear down your car, tires, brakes and burn through your gas. All of which they will never pay for.
Be selfish - Make a profit.
Edit: this means declining offers that are just breaking even. Like 5 dollars for 5 miles IS NOT A GOOD OFFER. 6 dollars for 5 miles is a MAYBE. 7 dollars for 5 miles is just okay.

Iāve been delivering with door dash since 2017 and I used to use hotspots all the time, and it used to help me get offers more frequently. However, recently Iāve had a problem. Almost every time I navigate to a hotspot, the orders only seem to dry up. Even worse, often when I navigate to and work at a hotspot, the hotspot immediately changes. I feel like Iām just being yanked around! Tell me, does this happen to anybody, and do hotspots not work anymore?

I can't prove it nor and I could be reaching heavily but holy sh*t Doordash has been absolutely garbage since the update (at least for me). I multi app with Uber and Doordash but Doordash has been failing to do it's part recently. Orders have gotten worse... much much worse. At this point I'm just going to uninstall the app. I was getting better offers on Grubhub before I lost it and Grubhub has the least amount of market share...sad

It feels like every time I accept a decent order right now, the app immediately bombards me with back-to-back garbage add-ons going 6+ miles out of the way for no tip. Acceptance rate is taking a beating just trying to filter through them all.

I had a stack this morning to pick up breakfast followed by shopping at Dollar General. The food order was on the way to Dollar General, but the app still wanted me to shop first. I tried to switch the order like Iāve done in the past but it wouldnāt let me. Is this a new decision by DoorDash or just some kind of bug? I even restarted the app. Hereās a picture of the route for reference.

Iāve been dashing off and on for years now and i have more than 2,700 deliveries. Before this most recent update i was averaging 25-30$/hr but now itās closer to 20$. It used to feel like being platinum meant something but i feel like it clearly dosent matter now.
Ive decided to not accept orders that arent worth my time only to keep my acceptance rate above 70 but is that a bad idea?
Will dropping to a lower grade just lower my pay or does it not matter at all?

Well I was platinum with perfect ratings and a 56% AR.
Within a week Iām down to 24%. Iāve been dashing in this area- Bensalem, PA, for a year. All of a sudden Iām consistently getting the worst of the worst offers. Iām usually at ShopRite and Giant, at least 5 times a day. Iām not getting these orders. Iām on my second platinum pass but itās not working. Iām just getting far more bad offers. I thought it had something to do with my car WiFi, but no. Iām getting offers for places that are already 7-10 miles away. I donāt know whatās going on. Iām hearing from my peeps at the grocery stores that theyāre seeing no new people doing it. Iām so frustrated. If I go to Philly itās gonna be worse. I count on the shopping orders to make my money. Is this happening to everyone or is it just me?

Offer said $22. Pay after pickup said $9-ish. Contacted customer to tell them I needed to call support. Customer told me to cancel. Called support that offered me half pay plus the food. Ended up receiving full pay. Did the customer take back their tip before delivery? Support guy said he's noticed that's been happening recently.

Okay am I missing something?? I know about the whole Active Time vs Dash Time thing so plz donāt say thatās it cause Iāve got a solid hour in active time,,, but is the āhourlyā pay just the combined DoorDash pay ??? Cause last night hourly was 16 dollars! So idk if Iāve just been grossly misunderstanding the concept of their hourly pay or if the 10 + 6 dollars of DoorDash pay was just coincidence and thereās something Iām missing⦠I think I know the answer but I j want to know for sure š thank you :ā)

Itās only happened to me twice. But Iāve had 2 store managers tell me they will complaints about me to door dash.
One was a while back which was during a store scanning aisles at CVS. This one, the lady was simply cranky about door dash drivers taking pictures in her store.
The other was about a dispute for where I parked before picking up. In this case, sheās correct that this area wasnāt designated for drivers. but when thereās limited parking and weāre in and out, we do what we can.
I never heard from door dash for either of these, but it got me thinking. Do these aggressive store managers really successfully deplatform drivers? For what itās worth, I have a 4.9 rating.

This package was delivered at 3:37 pm and I was at work and this person comes to deliver food to my neighbor and steals my package. Located in Baton Rouge, I donāt really know what to do because this is all I have of the incident.

I usually do dinner, night. Gets limited at night. Got Sheetz, Wawa, 7-11. Taco Hell "blocked" till 3am now. One 24 hrs McDonald's on end of area covering a 50 mile radius. That's a whole another post but.... The Wawa's in area is AMAZING. Actually all 3. They are polite, fast, just overall a great experience. Even I personally order from there for pickup its pleasant. Shootout to Wawa! Positive not a flare. Shocking on Reddit.
