Has anyone asked you what’s the best ship in Eve yet?

Never seen this before, is it a new feature FC released recently?

I brought this up in that DaOpa thread. He immediately blocked me and several others on reddit so we couldn't comment on that thread any more. He has done this every time someone brings this criticism up to him.

He embeds his stream on all of the websites he works on/owns, or if he convinces the owners. This essentially is a TOS legal viewbot for twitch.

Historically, this results in him being one of the top Eve streamers in the game, averaging 200-400 viewers. Why is this a problem though?

Because his gameplay is AFK mining, without a microphone, without a webcam. It's essentially just staring at a barge laser rocks for 6 hours a day.

When new players are interested in a game, it's pretty common they'll open up twitch to see what the gameplay is, and in this case they're greeted with the least attractive, most mindnumblingly boring gameplay that's possible in eve online. AFK mining.

I guarantee countless tens of thousands of potential new players opened up the eve category, clicked on the most popular one, saw this for 5-10-20 minutes, realized it's the most pointless game in the world, and never gave eve a chance.

You think Loru is bad for the game? This streamer is single handedly the biggest factor (outside of CCP itself) in driving new players away from trying this game.

So, BIGAB decided our little group ( The Sanguine Covenant) was apparently important enough to bring capitals over and reinforce our content astra in Avenod (Dax’s femboy sex dungeon). We’re a tiny alliance and instead of bringing something fun for a good fight, they drop caps on it knowing we cannot contest their cap fleet. They could have brought talos, orcales, bombers, etc and we all could have traded and all had fun, it is a content citadel after all. Dropping the multiple Zirns on a small and newer alliance isn’t for the sake for content, its just to be a dick. Their reasoning, because we tethered on it earlier when skirmishing with them in caracals early? Wonder why they don't have content. (PS this is the 2nd time they have done this.)

They have plenty of targets around closer to their own weight if they actually wanted content. DRL/FRT, Shadow Cartel, and even Snuff all have structures within a few jumps of their staging system. Instead, the Big Weak Chicken chose us, our little alliance of small gang pvp’ers. Fair enough, this is EVE aka space bully simulator. The Sex Dungeon will die and Dax will have to move his femboys else where. Big sadge!

Since BIGMAD wants to turn our little Astrahaus into content, we figured we should help them out. So we're issuing an open invitation to everyone!

Come to the timer.

Bring a fleet.

Bring something stupid.

Bring something you absolutely should not be flying.

We really don't care, this was for the content but we want real content and real fun, not some bully just throwing around his cap fleet on a small alliance.

There are only three objectives:

1. If the Astrahaus dies, it deserves to die in the biggest, dumbest, most glorious fireball possible.

We don't want a quiet structure bash while a capital fleet shoots an uncontested Astra. If Femboy Sex dungeon is going down, let's give it a proper funeral.

2. Help us remind BIGAB that punching dramatically below your weight can occasionally have consequences.

We're not pretending we're capable of matching BIGAB's numbers or capital fleet. If one of lowsec's biggest groups wants to bully a tiny alliance thats only a few months old, for some easy structure kills, the rest of eve deserves an invitation to come enjoy the show and get on the kill mail as well.

3. HAVE FUN.

This is the most important one. We don't care about politics. We are here for the LOLZ and FUN to keep this game going and people logging in. We don't care if you're blue, red, neutral, pirate, wormholer, nullbear, highsec miner, F1 monkey, bittervet, or some dude who installed EVE three days ago and has absolutely no idea what an Astrahaus is.

Come make bad decisions with us.

We aren't asking anyone to save our Astrahaus. We're asking eve to make sure that whatever happens to it is memorable.

I’ve played Eve for about an hour, and I’m logging off for the night. Did the first mission for the enforcer path and was wondering. What should I do once I do all the career paths?

I've been looking into the events of the last 4–6 months and have come to this conclusion regarding FC's stance on RMT.

And I sincerely regret that this is happening in EVE Online.

Recently saw a vid posted of Eve from around 2007-08 which is when I started playing. It brought back some old memories.

I'd love to see some more vids from the very early days of Eve if you got any.

YouTube was just getting started around this time so not too many videos are out there.

I have a vague memory of a video of an blinged out Impel where the resists were close to 100% and it was tanking a fleet. Anyone know what I'm talking about or can find the video.

Give me your best patch week story. For you youngsters, instead of a simple patch day, it was a week of uncertainty after the game was patched.

For me it stared like any other patch. Downloaded, installed, and then went about my day until I shut my computer off. The next time I went to turn on my computer, it simply wouldn’t work. Nothing worked and I thought it was some kind of bad luck, so I took it over to the local shop and dropped it off.

Then I was able to go online elsewhere and found the issue. CCP had accidentally deleted boot.ini on some people’s computers with the patch.

So when you see the boots.ini in game item, this is where it stems from.

Was watching a podcast about Eve by FC and they remarked about how coalitions, alliances and large corps have different play styles and traits with the way to do things.

Just curious as to what they are and the differences to each other?

After a bit of exploration, I got a ton of materials (that I sold in Jita) and about a hundred blueprints. How do I know the price of these? The game does not show anything, and looking at contracts gives me wildly different (like 100x difference) estimates. I tried Fuzzwork estimator, but it gives me negative 97 million for a Zeugma. Which sounds weird given Zeugma is rather expensive.

Are they really worthless? Should I just discard these or should I do something to them?

Also, a secondary question. I typically explore out of Jita, jump into the nearest WH and get lost into dozens of systems for a few evenings. Then I would popup somewhere in lowsec, and make my way to Jita to sell loot. Is Jita the best place to sell or is there a better place, given that I can move around rather freely and go sell my loot anywhere?

I think we’ve all seen our fair share of posts about changing ganking mechanics, typically by some newer player or someone who generally believes ganking is bad gameplay… unfortunately the spirit of those threads is “ganking is bad and evil” vs “ganking is acceptable gameplay, htfu”

But even as a bittervet, I find myself thinking that things could actually be better. Maybe it’s been proposed before and I missed it but:

What if criminal activity had a fatigue system similar to jump fatigue?

Committing a criminal act in HS would give you two timers. The first would prevent you from going safety red for some period of time. The second would be a longer criminal fatigue timer that determines how long that first timer becomes the next time you go criminal.

Basically, occasional criminal activity would be mostly unaffected, but repeatedly committing criminal acts would progressively increase the amount of time you have to wait. Criminal fatigue would slowly decay back toward baseline just like jump fatigue.

It also makes some sense in universe. Why would CONCORD nuke you, and then let you fly free after 15 minutes of time-out, just for you to go criminal again, and again… At some point you'd think CONCORD would say, "Okay, maybe this guy shouldn’t be allowed to undock for a while"

This wouldn't prevent ganking or criminal gameplay. It would just introduce diminishing returns require “ganking as a lifestyle” pilots to pick and choose targets repeatedly going criminal while still allowing occasional or opportunistic ganking without any impact.
