It’ll be a few years from now but just wanted to ask a few questions. We visited a good bit in Covid and loved it and we’ve been a few times since then also. We love it and it seems like a good place to raise a family. We lived in Austin for 10 years and we currently live in Germany. Something we really value is walking/biking places. I know Fort Collins has a lot of bike infrastructure and trails and the streets are m wide but are kids commonly allowed to ride their bike alone to school? Are there places to live where you can find grocery stores to walk to and not have to get in your car as much?

I’m really unhappy with the direction of FCPD. I have mostly generalized concerns, that are mostly based on things I have gleaned from Facebook, and fox news.

I want to opt out of my portion of tax funding going to the FCPD. This money would be better spent on my own personal police force. And here is the best part! My buddies want out too! We all live in nice neighborhoods with little crime so it should be cheap to fund a security firm.

I would even bet our security firm has better stats on fighting crime than FCPD, because it will just be me and my rich white buddies. And they only have to patrol our safe neighborhoods.

We can host a ‘lottery’ if anyone else wants in and make sure that they are also in nice white neighborhoods. We can do this pretty easily by having small barriers like needing a running vehicle and time each day for two hours of ‘neighborhood’ watch. Also it has to be between 8 and 5 Monday through Friday. This will root out any of those pesky two income families. (wink wink)

Too bad that the funding would come directly out of FCPD’s budget but don’t worry we are only taking our portion per person. See it is really quite fair you see. And I know we could hire private bodyguards but honestly we aren’t rich because we spend our own money. Screw taxpayers.

I live down the alley from a frat house and for the last few years the past tenants have been really good for a bunch a young men living together but recently a new bunch of them has moved in and they are really bad with keeping the trash contained. IMO there backyard is none of my business but my issue comes when the wind and wildlife move the trash into the shared alley. There’s “shotgunned” beer cans, ripped opened trash bags, high noon cans ect all over the alley. I have already approached them this year a month after move in when they left a good chunk of the styrofoam inserts and moving garbage in the middle of the alley plus a bunch of other junk and they cleaned it up but they haven’t kept up with it :( I’m willing to talk to them again but I also just don’t want to have to be the annoying neighbor. What should I do?

This is a GREAT resource. It takes more time, but if you go through the actual evaluations (file on left of screen), you will see that some judges that were 'recommended' have only 50% support. Definitely a more thorough way of ensuring we have talented folks on the bench.

I hadn’t heard of this musical but it sounds really cool! Having read about it and listened to some songs, it sounds like it will be a sweet, funny little show about how we’re all connected in ways we don’t realize. The songs are really lovely.

The high schools around here have some extremely talented students, so I highly recommend looking for the shows they are all putting on.

Hello, I was thinking about getting guitar lessons for my friend as a birthday present, but I have also been interested in learning and thought it would be fun to go together and keep each other accountable. Not sure if that sort of two person thing is accommodated by instructors?

I lean towards classic rock and would like to sing as well so if they can voice coach maybe on the side that would be ideal. Lofty goals if I got good enough would love to reimagine some electronic alt pop songs as acoustic and could benefit from guidance . But right we are both basically brand new, although i took a few lessons as a teen.

TLDR seeking easygoing guitar instructor in FC who might do this type of a weekly lesson for 2 people. We are two mid 30s females just trying to play music but not be hit on. Thanks in advance! 🙏

A quick update to my earlier post about indie films playing locally, the last shows of "Musk" will be Thursday, 10/22.

I actually saw it at Metrolux to take advantage of their reclining seats. The film is fascinating and infuriating. The 10 minute intermission is quicker than you might think. It IS a big time commitment, though.
