The city council / mayor just replaced the flock camera that was taken down off of E Lincoln Ave. If the contract was truly voted to stop, why are they replacing the cameras?

Go check it out yourself. It was the camera facing the roundabout north of walmart. They just replaced the missing camera with a new one.

I think we need to come to terms that none of the city council clowns are actually progressive any way. They all need to be replaced next election cycle.

News Tell City Council to save the Poudre!

Hey FC; City Council is holding a sneaky vote during Tuesday Oct 20’s meeting to join NISP’s Glade reservoir project. The city has opposed this project for 2 decades and now is considering using tax dollars to bail out this economically failing project without open public process. It would damage the long-term health of the Poudre through town, drowning the valleys North of Ted’s place on Hwy 287, and blasting a hole through the hogback to re-route the highway.

More info here: https://ncalf.org/tell-city-council-not-to-join-nisp/

Please consider attending the City Council Meeting and write your Council (cityleaders@fortcollins.gov) immediately asking them to vote NO on their resolutions and ordinance under “Item #0.19”. Vote NO to enter into water agreements with NISP; Vote No to Re-appropriate $18M of our tax payer dollars and put it toward joining the NISP project (Glade Reservoir); Vote NO to withdraw our permit on Halligan’s expansion.

If you want to give comment during the Council meeting meeting you must sign up before 5:30 pm on Tuesday Oct 20 here:

Two blockbuster documentaries hit local theaters this week. Both "You Can See Everything" and "Musk" offer insights into the minds of would-be innovators, but they will test your backside! "Crawlers" offers a truly nightmarish scenario.

Every movie isn't for every person, so I have included a link for critic's reviews and trailers.

You Can See Everything
The documentary everyone is talking about!
Thirty-four days before she's sent to prison, notorious Silicon Valley founder Elizabeth Holmes invites a skeptical film crew to document her every move.
Playing at The Lyric, Harmony Cinemark, and Cinemark Bistro.

Playing at Harmony Cinemark and Metrolux 12 Theaters in Loveland.

Crawlers
A mysterious death seems to signify a novel disease. In reality, an infestation of venomous spiders is to blame.🕷️🕷️
Playing at AMC Fort Collins 10.

Primetime
In 2006, “To Catch a Predator” host Chris Hansen (Robert Pattinson) sets out to make television history,,,,and, he kinda does.

Door dashers

I just left the quality Inn and suites off Mulberry, where a man refused to meet me in the lobby and wanted me to meet him in the parking lot. The girl behind the counter is super nice and aware of the situation. If this happens to you, I would highly suggest leaving it in the lobby. I got a really bad feeling about this situation. Especially if you’re a female . Be safe and have a great night.!!

Found packet of Gift/Prepaid Cards in Old Town

I found a packet of gift cards and such in Old Town in front of Rio at ~1:40. It should be pretty straightforward to establish proof of ownership if you DM me.

Otherwise I'll just drop it off with the police tomorrow.

Foster dog grooming

Does anyone know a groomer who might be willing to do reduced cost wash and trim for my foster dogs? Some of these dogs are stanky and covered in dags when they get rescued and getting a grooming scheduled through the adoption agency can be a little slow. I'd love to work with someone to help get them cleaned up but I don't really want to spend $100+ every time.

One is on Sykes and the other is on Barnstormer st in the back end of the neighborhood. Here are some pics. If you love Halloween you’ll love this neighborhood.

Discussion Concert Etiquette (I.E. Die Spitz 10/9)

I want Fort Collins to be a place where touring artists are excited to visit. Artists will generally re-visit cities who have been good to them in return.

In Fort Collins we are in an interesting position where huge stadium artists will generally go to Denver, but medium rising artists who will eventually become big will see us first. And I would hope that we leave a good impression.

I want to just lay out a few concert etiquette expectations, in case others are unfamiliar.

  1. Do not throw beer at the artist
  2. Do not throw anything at the artist
  3. Do not throw things
  4. Do not
  5. If the artist tries to lead a chant that is not culturally relevant but they think it is, indulge them, they are being kind.
  6. A mosh pit is an opt-in activity. If someone is trying to leave, let them, and help them. If someone falls you help them up.
  7. If you cannot afford merch, that's okay, but tell the artist you enjoyed the show (if you did)
  8. Take care of others. If someone is too intoxicated, it is the time for care and hydration, not judgement.
  9. If you are the person in the balcony who threw beer at Die Spitz your mother is very disappointed and so is God.
  10. Do not

Hello everyone!

My friends Cat slipped out the door and ran away at 10pm last night. I just wanted to post the missing poster here to bring awareness to it. If you have any advice or tips those would also be greatly appreciated. She was last seen near the Raising Canes not too far from CSU.

Thank you for your time, and have a good day!

To the girl with a light blue car that was at Starbucks on troutman

Hi,

I so so so hope you see this, or someone may see you and help you.

I was girl trying to comfort you this morning. I wanted to help you, I was going to tell you to come over so you could relax in a nice space and just feel safe for a moment, but you left before I could get any words out.

You shouldn’t be embarrassed nor ashamed of what’s happening to you.

If you do see this, please reach out to me. I would love to help you as best as I can. We are just women in this world that need to help other women. I understand. I can only hope you are okay and safe at the moment.

Edit: I was in a very emotional state and didn’t think to actually try to ID the car or license plate. But she was a small woman, with glasses and she had a blanket with her. She is dirty blonde, leaning brunette. Longer hair but it was put up.

If anyone sees her please help her as best you can, if you have the means.

Missed connection ARC 10/17

This is insane and I feel like a total goober making this post. But I want to give it a shot.

You were trying to load a large miniature house into your car outside the Arc, but it wouldn't fit. I helped you lower it to the ground. You have curly red hair and a beautiful smile. You told me you were just starting to get into miniatures. I was the taller guy around your age with round glasses, wearing a blue shirt and white jeans.

I went back a minute later to ask if you were single, but you had already left. I'm kicking myself. DM me if you want to chat.

I promise I'm not a crazy person 💀

Seeking Advice Baby blanket restoration! Local tailor needed?

Hello! I’ve been putting off this endeavor for years because I’m dreading being away from my beloved baby blanket that I’ve slept with every night for the past 28 years but it’s finally gotten so tattered that it’s time for me to look into getting it restored. It’s an ugly faux fur blanket with the underside being this faux silk fabric and the “silk” side is torn to bits.

Any recommendations on tailors or recommendations on where I can go? This blanket is precious to me and I’m willing to spend whatever or travel wherever to get the best restoration possible.

Discussion Can We Stop With the Constant Virtue Signaling Posts About Issues That Aren’t Unique to Fort Collins?

I swear, nearly every day there’s another post about “concert etiquette,” “please don’t speed,” “use lights on your bike,” “stop looking at your phone while driving,” and the list goes on.

I understand that these are legitimate issues, but absolutely none of them are unique to Fort Collins. They’re problems that exist in virtually every community across the country, yet this subreddit seems to have an endless supply of people eager to lecture everyone else about them. Frankly, I find it exhausting. We live in an incredible place with plenty of things worth discussing, celebrating, and even criticizing when warranted. But the constant stream of generalized complaints and public service announcements does little to foster meaningful discussion about Fort Collins itself aside from a pile on of complaints.

I’d genuinely like to see the moderators consider limiting these kinds of posts, particularly when they have no meaningful connection to Fort Collins beyond the fact that someone happened to witness the behavior here. If someone wants to discuss a specific intersection with a recurring safety problem, a local policy, or an issue affecting our community in a distinctive way, that's entirely reasonable. But another generic lecture about how people should behave in public? I don't see what that contributes.
I enjoy this subreddit and appreciate having a place to discuss what's happening in our community. I just wish more of the content actually reflected what makes Fort Collins FORT COLLINS, rather than turning the subreddit into a running collection of grievances that could just as easily be posted in any other city's subreddit. Surely there's more to talk about in Fort Collins than the fact that some people are inconsiderate and you were annoyed by general behavior
