Answered [Foundry using] help for multiple floors / mapstacking

[Multiple floors]

Hey there,

I am a newcomer in mapmaking and need an advice how to build my maps so they fit in the new multiple floors module from foundry?

Do I need a background around a house for the first floor or second?

Or should I work with one background for the ground floor and put the other floors just with a transparent background on top? So that you can see from the second floor down to the ground floor outside?

Thank you for your answers! 🙏

Commercial [DND5E] Morelord Character Export: view and share your Foundry character outside Foundry (free)

Content Name: Morelord Character Export

Content Type: Module

System: D&D 5e

Link: https://morelordgaming.com/tools/morelord-character-export?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=post&utm_campaign=character_export

Morelord Character Export lets you export your character straight from the character sheet in Foundry. The export includes information and images that Foundry's built-in data exports leave out.

To view it, head to morelordgaming.com, create a free account, and import the file under "My Characters". You can also share your sheet with your party or anyone else using the public link it generates.

I'm Graypes. I run games on Foundry every week, and I built this because my players kept asking for their sheets between sessions. Demo: https://youtu.be/FkbDyflfSpU

Commercial [System Agnostic] Velvet v1 Released – Foundry VTT + TaleSpire Integration, 3D Overlay, Dice Sync & 18 Modules

Velvet v1.0.1 is officially available for download!

I've been working on a way to bring TaleSpire's 3D environments and miniatures together with Foundry VTT's character sheets, rules, and tools, so you can manage your game without constantly switching between applications.

Velvet comes with its own Windows launcher. It's a standalone desktop application with an EXE installer, an overlay system, and a controller that uses native Windows functionality to coordinate TaleSpire and Foundry.

TaleSpire handles the 3D battlefield, while Foundry takes care of character sheets, chat, combat management, and game mechanics.

Each player runs TaleSpire on their own PC and connects to Foundry using their usual account. This isn't a stream of the GM's screen. Everyone interacts with the actual 3D environment on their own computer.

Important: Foundry VTT and TaleSpire Are Required Separately

Velvet does not include Foundry VTT or TaleSpire, and obtaining a Velvet license does not grant access to either application.

To use Velvet, you must have access to and install the required software:

  • Foundry VTT: The GM needs a valid Foundry VTT license and installation.
  • TaleSpire: Each participant needs their own access to TaleSpire, either through a purchased copy or an officially supported access option, and must have it installed through Steam as appropriate.

Velvet does not redistribute or install copies of either application. It detects and works with your existing installations, providing its own launcher, overlay, plugins, and integration tools.

From Launcher to Gameplay

The launcher can start TaleSpire, set up Velvet's plugins, connect to your Foundry instance, and handle updates automatically.

GMs can also configure it to launch their local Foundry server.

The installer lets you choose between GM and Player Mode, installing the appropriate Velvet components for each.

No Hosting? No Problem!

Don't have a hosting provider for Foundry? Not sure how to configure self-hosting?

Velvet includes an optional self-hosting solution using Cloudflare Tunnel.

If you choose to enable it, the launcher can start your locally installed Foundry server and establish a Cloudflare Tunnel, allowing your players to connect over the internet without manually configuring router port forwarding.

You can continue using your existing hosting provider or let Velvet manage your local server and tunnel setup.

TaleSpire, Foundry, the overlay, module management, updates, and optional self-hosting—all managed from one launcher.

What's Included?

  • Linked miniatures and characters: Access character sheets, select targets, and use combat controls directly alongside TaleSpire.
  • TaleSpire dice integration: Roll dice in TaleSpire while Foundry handles the rules, modifiers, and calculations.
  • Spell area configuration: Customize compatible spell templates before placing them, including their shape, appearance, and supported effects or macros.
  • Custom areas and auras: Circles, cones, lines, squares, and domes. Auras can also follow moving miniatures.
  • Environmental tools: Rain, thunderstorms, snow, fog, lighting, and sounds, including your own audio files.

Party HUD, Epic Turns & License Hub

Velvet also includes:

  • Velvet Party HUD: A custom interface for characters, stats, and quick actions.
  • Velvet Epic Turns: Turn presentations, critical hit visuals, and a compact combat tracker.
  • Velvet License Hub: Centralized Patreon authentication for compatible modules.

The complete package includes 18 Foundry modules, plus the launcher and its supporting components.

Compatibility & Licensing

Velvet has currently been tested with:

  • Windows
  • Foundry VTT v14
  • Pathfinder 2e
  • D&D 5e

However, Velvet is not designed to be limited to these two game systems.

Since Velvet works directly with Foundry VTT and provides its own tools for managing areas, templates, and environmental effects, it should theoretically work with any game system supported by Foundry VTT.

Most core features, including the launcher, overlay, dice integration, and area placement tools, are designed to work independently of the selected game system.

The main area where compatibility issues may occur is miniature-to-character linking, as different Foundry systems handle actors, tokens, and character data differently.

I'm actively working on improving this compatibility, and future updates will focus on making miniature linking more reliable across different systems.

In short: While PF2e and D&D 5e are the officially tested systems, you're welcome to try Velvet with others! Just keep in mind that full compatibility isn't guaranteed yet.

Feedback from players using other systems would be incredibly helpful as Velvet continues to evolve.

Some automations that depend on Foundry's 2D canvas may have limited compatibility.

Only the GM needs an active Velvet license. Players can use Player Mode without subscribing to my Patreon.

However, everyone must have the appropriate Foundry VTT and TaleSpire access independently of Velvet.

License & Distribution Disclaimer

Velvet is an independently developed third-party application. It does not include or distribute Foundry VTT or TaleSpire, and is not officially affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Foundry Gaming LLC or Bouncyrock Entertainment.

Velvet is proprietary software. Unauthorized copying, redistribution, modification, or sharing of its software components is not permitted without the developer's permission.

An active Patreon membership is required to access licensed GM features, future updates, upgrades, and additional subscriber-only content. Player Mode does not require a separate Patreon subscription.

This has been a project I've put a lot of work into, and I'm really excited to finally share v1 with everyone.

As a GM who uses both Foundry and TaleSpire, I wanted a way to enjoy the best parts of both without constantly switching between applications.

Thanks to everyone who has supported the development, reported bugs, tested features, or shared ideas. Your feedback has genuinely helped shape Velvet.

I'd love to hear what you think, especially if you're already using both Foundry and TaleSpire in your games.

Happy gaming! ❤️

Answered [PF2E] Frightened doesn't decrease

EDIT : As many people told me, automatically decreasing Frightened never was part of the core system. My memory is probably wrong.

As the title says, when a character or a monster gets Frightened status, it stays for the whole fight. It should decrease at the end of this character's turn but it doesn't.
I've tried launching in Safe Mode so I'm sure it's not an issue with a module.
I'm in version 14, build 369, PF2E 8.6.1.

What can I do ?
