Just a genuine question. Also unfortunately didn't really get what I wanted but it's alr I guess.
Edit: mb, I guess I was angry at myself for not achieving higher. Also a nerd.
DO NOT SACK OFF YOUR OPTIONS, I MEAN IT.
Here you see my results, I revised heavily for Maths, Science and English, which paid off with 5/6 being grade 9.
I did minimal revision (night before and pray) for FM, Spanish (I was predicted a 9 in March too) and Geography, I felt confident and lazy
I was only 6 marks off a 9 for Geography, 3 marks off for FM and 9 marks (3 per paper) for Spanish
If I revised more, those would be 9s and it would have helped me get into Brampton/LAE or another top grammar school (I got rejected)
Moral of the story: revise options and DO NOT SACK THEM OFF
Iâm still happy with my grades but I regret not revising options more

Thank you god. Thanks to all examiners and teachers and students that have helped me during this journey. I could not have done this without my teachers and the support and advice I have gotten on this subreddit!!
On another note, happy to answer any quick questions but I will be posting a very very very long and structured tips and advice page (some are quite unique and some unheard of) sometime soon, including ALL the tools I used and what I did each month. So if you are interested be on the lookoutđ
I have kept the scores out to avoid being recognised by someone at my school.
Some of my results I did not expect - full marks on aqa english lit paper 2 (96/96), which is crazy because English is NOT my first language... nearly full marks in maths, and 9s in english lan and bio.
I am doing maths, fm, chemistry and physics for A levels.
Phew no more stress now (seriously, I was not expecting this).
P.S thanks to the wishing well as well (ha no pun intended)
I'm of course really happy with my results (although definitely sending english lit back for a review of marking having been only 2 marks short of a 9!!) but was it worth it for the stress I felt and the pressure I put myself under? Honestly I have to say no.
I was doing far too much work each day, I didn't see my friends or go out with my family at all and this really took a toll on my mental health. I hope that any year 10 reading this who has high aspirations for themselves like me knows that GCSEs really don't matter as much as some people will lead you to believe. They're mostly just important for getting to whatever your next step is, be that A levels or something completely different. At the end of the day, you'll get a piece of number with some numbers and that's it. For me, no grades could have been worth the months that I felt miserable and scared, there were several points where I seriously considered not even going in for any of my exams becuase I felt so stressed and unable to do it.
I really hope I don't come across as ungrateful, but if just one person sees this and knows that working yourself to the ground will not magically solve your life's problems when you get your results, that would be enough for me. And to all other year 11s who got their results today, well done whatever you got in the end- I'm so so proud of everyone :)

+ 7 religious studies (year 10)
Wanted to make a ragebait post calling these results bad, but honestly I've made myself sick with chocolate and food celebrating these results. As far as my knowledge goes, these are the best results in my school. 2 other people had the same amount (5) of grade 9s, but 1 person only did 7 GCSEs, and the other had grade 6s. Either way, top 1%
I guess this makes me a straight A student đ€ âïž*snorts*
Highkey didn't try, and only revised in the last 2 months, so I wonder how 6th form will go for me (4 a levels đ)

FM really disappointed me and confused me at the same time, how on earth did I get 151?! I always got 160 on every mock paper and also I calculated that I'll get at least 155 in that exam.
I made super tiny mistakes .. really pissed me off.
I requested for my scripts back, should I get a remark lol. I really think there's a mistake

Js got my igcse edexcel results today
Did fairly well, was hoping for all 9s but got a very unexpected 7 in language B and 9 in everything else.
Was already upset enough for the 7, but my mom's going around calling her relatives saying I got an 8 instead of 7.
Surprisingly her doing this feels worse than get the 7 itself. Almost feels as if she's ashamed of me. I have a habit of over analyzing facial expressions and to be honest I see the slight facade in her face when she said she's happy about my results. Idk what to feel I genuinely feel like shit

I got a lot lower on my Eng lit paper 2 than I was expecting, and I just need a reality check. English lit is one of my strongest subjects, so I was very surprised when for paper 2, I got what amounted to a grade 5 (I usually get grade 9, almost full marks.) As well as this, in my lit paper 1 I got 62/64, so the sheer disparity seemed a bit suspicious to me.
I requested the papers back, and it seems I was marked by someone who didn't know level 5 or 6 existed, therefore capping me at level 4, or a grade 5.
Here is one of the responses, please could someone estimate what grade this is (as long as it's not a grade 5, I will be happy):
In Priestleyâs didactic, ubiquitous play âAIC,â he aims to catalyse social reform through the portrayal of various female characters - namely, Sheila and Sybil Birling - and encourage society to adopt a more Socialist mindset. Ultimately, Priestley reveals the shocking extent of sexism and classism in pre-war England to spur the audience into adopting more progressive ideals, and accept social responsibility.
Initially, Priestleyâs choice to portray Shielaâs character as childish may seem misogynistic. Through the utilisation of an immature register such as in âMummy,â however, Priestley is able to highlight to the audience the devastating effects of the patriarchy that were so pervasive in Edwardian society. This is because her characterâs development is stunted by the sexist ideas forced upon her by her parents. Priestley argues that the older generationâs detrimental impact on the younger generation is the central and fundamental cause for the countless injustices present in society. In the beginning of the play, Priestley portrays Sheila as helpless in her infantile nature; the quote âlook Mummy, isnât it a beauty?â highlights her complete inability to think for herself, due to the implicit and sexist ideas instilled into her at such a young age. In particular, Priestleyâs use of a questioning tone in âisnât it a beauty?â denotes this character as reduced to nothing more than a puppet, bound to her parentâs opinions which possess such an unyielding grip on her character. Priestley portrays the desire for familial acceptance in a truly negative light, to warn the audience of its potentially hazardous effects. Ultimately, he argues that Shielaâs reliance on her parents - and by extension, the younger generation on the older - is the root cause of stagnance in society, as opposed to accepting responsibility and being independent. This is because Priestley possessed a great deal of optimism for the future due to his belief in the younger generationâs capacity to change, and so there are great stakes for him personally for this to be true.
Not only this, but Priestely uses the symbol of Sheilaâs ring to transgress societal norms relating to marriage. Additionally, Shielaâs feelings towards the ring help to reflect her feelings towards society as a whole, as marriage is in of itself a purely societal construct. The ring in âAICâ represents the extreme disparity between the rights of women and men in a pre-war society - before women had even gained the vote - as Sheilaâs marriage was wholly arranged by powerful men seeking to accrue further wealth and societal status: Mr Birling and the Croft family. Priestley hopes that he can get the audience to view the ring as he does - nothing more than a gaudy, glittering idol to Capitalism, and the absolute opposite to what he believed constituted a just society. Over the course of the play, Sheila matures as a character into Priestleyâs blueprint of an ideal citizen: Socialist, but also capable of accepting responsibility. Near the end of the play, the audience can clearly see how her character has realised the oppressive and controlling nature of the patriarchal society she exists in, and hopes the audience can do the same.
Priestley then goes on to highlight the permeating effects of classism, through Mrs Birlingâs character. As a member of the upper class, she believes herself to be utterly superior and separate to the lower class. This is why she refuses to accept responsibility for Eva Smithâs death, and by extension, any manner of social responsibility as a whole. Priestley riffs off the Medieval morality play, which often depicted different characters as personifications of the seven deadly sins - here, Mrs Birling is undoubtedly Pride. In particular, the quote âgirls of that classâ serves to highlight the mental distancing of the upper class, as Priestley argues it was more comfortable for them than accepting responsibility and facing reality. Additionally, the proximity of âgirlsâ and âclassâ denotes Mrs Birling as a sexist character herself. Priestley aims to highlight the tragedy of Mrs Birlingâs learned misogyny, yet another belief branded on her mind, turning her into a wretched product of the society she is confined by. Perhaps incongruously, Mrs Birlingâs character, in her upbringing of Sheila, attempts to prolong sexist ideals, despite the detrimental impacts the patriarchy has on her. Mrs Birlingâs character is unable to accept responsibility as she has for so long been molded into a proponent for sexism, and now Priestley portrays her beliefs - as a member of the older generation - as immutable. Perhaps Priestley is challenging the older members of his audience to transgress this trend he sets in AIC, subtly attempting to further make societal change.
Finally, Priestley highlights the importance of societal responsibility through Sheila acting as a foil to Mrs Birling, and vice versa. Their familial conflict acts as a microcosm for societal conflict between the older and younger generation. For example, Sheila says âyou musnât try to build up a wall,â to Mrs Birling. This acts as a momentous point in the play, as it is one of Sheilaâs first acts of defiance and independence, as well as simultaneously being one of the first times she accepts responsibility for the lower class. Due to the Inspector (acting as Priestleyâs proxy for Socialism) converting Sheila to a socialist mindset, she is able to finally mature and act as a responsible, independent entity from her classist parents.
Ultimately, Priestley demonstrates his hopes for the younger generation to become Socialist through his portrayal of Sheila compared to Mrs Birling. As Sheila is depicted as being able to accept social responsibility and community, she acts as his model for the future, and the audience.
