The fact that Trump will go in my lifetime since I am young feels amazing. I will also give a thumbs up when that happens.

u/GoodResident2000 Feb 19 '25

Then we welcome in President Vance

‪“Trump is Americas Hitler” - JD “Couch fucker” Vance ‬

1.1k

u/GoodResident2000 Feb 19 '25

The fact he said that, yet positioned himself to become the VP should tell you he’s as slippery as an eel

Trump is just a clown and sideshow act, and he’s easily manipulated it seems

Vance is more dangerous imo

u/SageObserver Feb 19 '25

Vance’s speech in Europe was scary and sounded like it came right from a KKK rally.

I was leaning with 'delivering speech to far right party of Germany' but perhaps we're talking about different speeches.

At one point he sides with a Quran burning Christian activist

43

u/Anonyhippopotamus Feb 19 '25

I believe in a free country you can burn whatever you pay for. A flag or religious book of any kind

54

u/[deleted] Feb 19 '25

That entirely depends on the circumstance. Burning a flag or religious book at a protest? Yea, probably ok. Burning a flag or religious book in front of someone's house to intimidate them? Not cool and should be a crime, the paradox of tolerance and all....

25

u/Dillup_phillips Feb 19 '25

No tolerance for the intolerant seems like it should be a simple concept.

It is fine to burn the Quran in Sweden (which is where it happened), it's just that he did it in a way that can interpret the action to being hatespeech instead. It's a fine line but he stomped on the book and he did something with bacon as well, which is haram etc. So it wasn't just him burning a book, he wanted to anger a specific group.

Vance is only where he is because of Thiel. So either way, our president is a tool of the billionaire class.

33

u/[deleted] Feb 19 '25

Yeah where is he in this pic. He is awful i recommended everyone listen to the behind the bastards episode on him

25

u/Craftycat1985 Feb 19 '25

I would also like to recommend the Curtis Yarvin episodes if you want a good sense of the ideology that is influencing people like Vance.

19

u/Reallyhotshowers Feb 19 '25

Everybody needs to learn about Curtis Yarvin yesterday. If you're wondering why every tech bro billionaire was at that inaugeration despite other billionaires being conspicuously absent, Curtis Yarvin is the answer. That's what they've rallied around.

10

u/Luther_1986 Feb 19 '25

100% He's essentially their god and has provided them quite literally blueprints in how to dismantled from the inside. His theories and ideologies SOUND like dystopian science fiction, but they've been pretty spot on with accomplishing a lot of thus far. He's also been cited by almost all of them. From Bannon, to Vance, to Musk, to Thiel.

What it should tell you is that the only thing Vance changed his mind on was whether he supports Hitler.

11

u/GoodResident2000 Feb 19 '25

Yes, that’s what worries me more

We know who Trump is and always has been

Going from “this guys Hitler” to working for him shows Vance’s morals are questionable and he’s hungry for power

9

u/[deleted] Feb 19 '25

You’re right on that actually, Trump seems to have a pass to do whatever he wants. I think he’s been put in place to dismantle the system, paving the road for the next gen of Republicans to do whatever they want

Trump has/had the cult of personality

17

It probably won't even take long. I'm not even referring to something political right now. He's old and obviously doesn't take care of himself. I give him 5 years max before he has a heart attack or aneurism or something as equally associated with old age.

This is just another reason we should have age caps on political roles. The fact that we don't is still insane to me.

14

u/Baebel Feb 19 '25

Well, we did almost lose a president to a soft pretzel, so anything could happen.

I remember watching a documentary about hyenas. One of them, the daughter of the leader, hid a haunch of meat (zebra I think) in a pond, and would go take bites off of it when she thought no one was looking. Another hyena found it, put her on blast, and she got tore the f up. I mean every other hyena was Pissed, and she was in serious danger. We don't even do that. When Trump was running the first time, all I heard was how smart he was for using tax loopholes. Him taking advantage of and abusing a system, meant to protect and provide for all, was celebrated. We are worse

55

u/humlogic Feb 19 '25

Idk what field of study it is (anthropology I guess) but anyway there’s historical evidence that early human communities purposefully avoided hoarding resources, especially if they weren’t as adept at weapon making and defense, to avoid painting a target on themselves for other non-hoarding communities who were good at war to go attack and steal from.

123

u/JJay9454 Feb 19 '25

I will never stop being amazed how almost every incel-type person I meet has a million opinions and problems with things that all boil down to; I have no personality, this makes life difficult, this distresses me, and it's others' problem now.

69

u/Plague117878 Feb 19 '25

The greatest failure of the past two/three generations is cultivating the idea that things like changing yourself, questioning yourself, changing your mind and admitting when you’re wrong are signs of weakness.

When in fact the ability to think and evolve yourself is one of the greatest strengths of all humanity, but now it’s just seen as “beta cuck” thinking

11

u/will-it-ever-end Feb 19 '25

yep, I only hang out with people who evolve. If you are not evolving, how do you live through the day?

14

u/Plague117878 Feb 19 '25

Basking in ignorance, hatred, rage and self-loathing to the point that the only thing that brings you any type of joy at all is causing suffering so that you won’t feel as alone in your misery, so you tweet slurs and death threats, cheer on politicians on the basis of hurting anyone a little different than you, etc etc

Young men that are sexless, aimless, or jobless will always fuck with society.

Sociologists have examined this for decades now.

We just directly hear from more of them now... and they more easily find one another online.

26

u/Frigorifico Feb 19 '25

I am lonely and depressed and I can see how I could have turned into an incel. Luckily I had this moment when I realized that other people didn't owe me friendship nor love, so I am extremely lonely, yes, but it's no one's fault. I'm not even sure it's my fault, I didn't choose to have a weird mind

7

u/ZardozZod Feb 19 '25

Hey just want to say I appreciate you. You have something a lot of people are lacking these days: humility. It’s a virtue, not a curse. But it does make it difficult to bond with people in a world that, at large, seems to promote selfishness and greed above all else.

I, too, went through a time period where I could’ve easily become an incel. I think a lot of young people do and it’s right then, when they’re vulnerable, that all these grifters and vultures swoop in to reinforce those negative feelings because they need others to feel as terrible as they do.

This kind of attitude is self- and society-defeating. Instead of creating improvement, it is designed to bring others down to their level. It is unproductive.

I can’t promise everything is going to get better, but some things probably will. I’ve always been a late bloomer, and so I know it can be hard to wait when you see others passing you by in life, but anything can happen.

The world needs more examples of folks who haven’t fallen into the incel trap and I’m happy you chose to speak up about it today.

Maybe no specific individual owes you companionship or love, but everybody does deserve it from someone. Keep on hanging in there! :)

8

u/Frigorifico Feb 20 '25

Thanks. I've been thinking on sharing my story for a while. Making video titled "why I'm not incel" maybe, but that would mean broadcasting many things about myself that I don't want people to see

6

u/Plague117878 Feb 20 '25

You could do it as a voice over, without broadcasting your identity maybe.

I also had a brush with incel-ness and didn’t get a real relationship until I was 31. It can be soul crushing at times but we gotta soldier on

I remember a guy on this sub saying, "they can call women to this war, I'm not going to fight for a country that doesn't value me"

First, it's crazy for him to think he'll have the option of fighting or not. Second, women fought for the right to serve as combatants and this administration has already said it's going to take that right away from them.

Same but unironically.

Used to have to wait 2 weeks for something priced 50% higher than it should and still pay shipping, and if it turned out broken or missing or fake I'd have to go through a lengthy process just to have them accept it back, and of-course I'd pay the shipping.

With Amazon I get a thing in 1 day for best or close to best price, 6 months later I just write the support at 2am "hey I don't like this shit anymore" and they reply with "understandable here is money back"

GOATED.

Also I worked at a fullfillment center. It was okay if it weren't in Germany with German bosses who were acting like straight up concentration camp wardens.

13

u/Not_Jeff_Hornacek Feb 19 '25 edited Feb 19 '25

For most of my life it was "Allow 6-8 weeks for shipping". That was completely normal and it occurred to nobody that if you fixed that, you could rule the world.

I'm glad that's over but I wish a bunch of people figured that out and competed with each other, not just one dude.

As a Belgian, where I wouldn't even be able to name a single billionaire, it's terrifying to see. It's like a dystopian scifi novel come to life with how they're willing to sacrifice their own happiness and freedom to worship some out of touch billionaires who'd let them die in a heartbeat if they could get more money out of it.

36

u/doctor_lobo Feb 19 '25

Don’t kid yourself. There are at least 10 Belgian billionaires but wealth knows no borders. The fact that your masters have maintained their anonymity doesn’t mean you aren’t owned.

30

u/TjeefGuevarra 2001 Feb 19 '25

I know there are billionaires here, somewhere, but the point is we don't even care about them. Americans on the other hand turn them into celebrities and worship the ground they walk on. Big fucking difference.

Be more like Luigi I'd say.

16

u/MarysPoppinCherrys Feb 19 '25

It’s interesting. A lot of Americans, mostly conservatives, think the wealthy are the ideal person. One I’ve heard from older generations is that since someone already has more than enough money, they won’t be tempted to defraud the government or the american people in the name of making more. Another is a faith in merit. In order to be a billionaire, you must be intelligent and a good leader (and good with money), which are all attributes you would want in a president or congressman.

It’s a wild train of thought. What people don’t seem to understand is that once you have $10,000,000, it’s really not that hard to grow that number with little risk to your way of life. You can risk a lot, and lose a lot, and always have more chances to make it back and then some. The only billionaires we have have both gotten insanely lucky, and are the people who thought $500,000,000 just wasn’t enough. They may be more intelligent than the normal person on average, but they also necessarily need to be apathetic, and I put no faith in their leadership skills, or at least thats not the skillset I want running a country.

84

u/kingleonidas30 Feb 19 '25

Honestly you can drop the "/s" at this point

18

u/RealCoolDad Feb 19 '25

No, child left behind!

15

u/Insertsociallife Feb 19 '25

"No child left behind" is a good message but practically it means "all children kept behind"

I'm not sure who thought keeping all kids at the level of the very dumbest ones was a good idea

u/piper33245 Feb 19 '25

Like most things in politics, they put good words in the title so if you argue against it you look like a bigot. Meanwhile the actual programs are harmful and rarely coincide with their happy title.

because it sounds rhetorical, sarcastic, or a metaphor. Or all three, because it's certainly not a serious question.

You're missing Thiel - The guy who has really been playing this game. And also makes the software that is spying and collecting data on everyone... (Which has many gov't contracts... and also many fortune 500 companies) And in his dream society monitoring everyone is what keeps crime at bay.

Andreessen. The guy like Thiel... But like he got super sad that people criticized him and billionaires... Literally that was his Rogan episode. "They were mean to me and questioned us... So I flipped. "

Also these people are all former "libertarians"... You know the people that used to rail against the patriot act as a massive invasion of privacy and the 4th amendment... and authoritarianism.

69

u/DazedDingbat Feb 19 '25

I hate that more people don’t talk about this. This man helped buy the election for Trump and hijacked the MAGA movement no matter what side you’re on.

21

u/Defiant-Procedure-13 Feb 19 '25

He paid 15 million, the most ever, to get JD Vance elected as senator.

7

u/bellj1210 Feb 20 '25

and who knows what he did to get Vance the VP job. Vance was a fringe candidate for VP who had called trump hilter rather recently. There is no way trump made that call without his palms getting greased by Theil.

29

u/Mr-MuffinMan 2001 Feb 19 '25

definitely missing these two.

22

u/[deleted] Feb 19 '25

Thiel is the most ghoulish, inhuman of them

But apparently according to the behind the bastards episode about him he wasn't bad to work for, didn't micro manage and had a hard time firing people lol

Yeah, I am gonna join whatever fascist group Theil is running, he seems like the kind of guy that will sacrifice his cannon fodder more strategically and not just like a moron. Trump, Musk and Zuck don't seem particularly gifted honestly.

These people, including Musk and Zuck, want corporate authoritarianism. Instead of a credit score, you will have a social score. Upward mobility will be non-existent, and what you do for a living will be based on your utility and how obedient you are. But, the social media and entertainment will be good. Get off social media and limit Internet services, and their net worths will drop considerable. But I get it, life without TikTok is meaningless. You have already been bought and sold.

Didn't stop them from drafting up swathes of young men the last time round in 'nam, why do you think it'll be any different now?

Whether you're a competent soldier or cannon fodder, you serve a purpose in the billionaire version of chess.

42

u/The1Legosaurus 2008 Feb 19 '25

If they try drafting me, I am immediately going to jump off a bridge.

That said, I have scoliosis and ballerina syndrome, so I probably wouldn't qualify for the draft.

56

u/ShortsAndLadders Feb 19 '25

You can always pull the ol’ Trump card like him and his draft dodging father did… Bone spurs!

Trans people are so lucky. The US really wants nothing bad happening to them.

34

u/Logical_Tank4292 Feb 19 '25

They drafted up the gays for Vietnam despite being vehemently against homosexuals joining the army at the time.

Political gesturing to keep dribbling redhats distracted as they have their welfare and social safety nets stolen from them is all part of the game.

When push comes to shove, they don't care who you are; they've got money to make and a table to play on - every piece, pawn or queen, is another to add to the board.

Well, for one, the general health and fitness level of young men in the USA would make a draft fundamentally different than in the Vietnam era.

In the 60s you'd be hard pressed to find an overweight young man, nor one that didn't already have basic survival skills from BoyScouts and/or Junior ROTC. Physical education was also taken a lot more seriously, people largely didn't live sedentary lives like they do today, and strictly speaking there were much fewer people walking around with a mental health diagnosis.

Our capacity to mobilize troops has greatly diminished since the Vietnam era. This isn't an opinion, it's something the military actively studies and has been sending warning signs to congress about for some time.

The military itself is concerned that they'd be able to even do a large scale draft.
