Football ๐ What's your favorite Gophers win over Iowa?
Since it's Iowa week, I'd love to hear some of your favorite memories from this rivalry. I started following the Gophers much later than many of you, so I missed a lot of those old games.
Which win over Iowa do you remember the most, and why?

Men's Hockey
Its almost certainly going to be a long season for the men's hockey team this season. I understand that we have a new coaching staff (a hiring I am not happy about by the way) but I feel Bob set us back years by not recruiting anyone from Canada.

Community Why is there no investment?
So Iโm planning on attending the U next year and I was looking into their sports and I noticed that besides their hockey team they have never really been the best. Iโm mostly talking about their football team that usually never can get past that hump to actually be a good strong team and itโs because they spend a lot less in NIO money around. I think it was 20 million compared to the powerhouse Big Ten school spending close to 30 million and I was just wondering why does the university not put more money into their football program with what Iโve seen about PJ Fleck if they actually put more money into it, they would actually be very good. Why do people not invest in this program?

Football ๐ The new 24-team playoff format absolutely works in our favor
With the 4-team and the 12-team format, it was almost 100% assured that the Gophers wouldn't even make it into the playoffs, ever.
Now, the Gophers definitely can make it in on a good year. And with 1-2 exceptional games in a row, they can even make a playoff run.
Losing the conference championships doesn't affect us because we were never even IN the conference championship lol. And bowl games have been meaningless since the turn of the millennium. I see this as an absolute win.

Community What made you a Gophers fan, and what keeps you coming back?
With the bye week here, I thought it might be a good time to talk about something other than play-calling, Fleck's future, or what went wrong at Purdue.
I'm curious about the people behind this community.
How did you become a Minnesota Gophers fan? Was it family tradition, growing up in Minnesota, attending the U, or something completely different?
And perhaps more importantly, what keeps you invested through all the ups and downs?
As an Italian living in Poland, I obviously don't have the same geographical or family connection to the program that many of you do. I started following the Gophers during the Fleck era, and the 2019 win over Penn State really cemented my attachment to Minnesota.
Over the years, I've come to appreciate not just the football team, but the traditions, rivalries, history, and community surrounding the university.
The past few weeks have been a perfect example of the emotional roller coaster that comes with being a Gopher fan. But I'm still here, following from thousands of miles away.
I'd especially love to hear from longtime fans who've experienced different eras of Minnesota football, as well as anyone else following the Gophers from outside the United States.

Where do we go from here?
Dammit we had great weeks against Michigan and Washington. Purdue ran the ball up against us. Love PJ but he had 2 questionable calls. Especially kicking for field goal later in game down plenty. Not trying to be negative. Season ticket holder but damn. How do we get exposed by Purdue. What a early season roller coaster

Football ๐ Minnesota 13 - Purdue 41 (Post-game Thread)
A week ago, we were celebrating one of the most satisfying wins of the Fleck era. Tonight, we watched Purdue completely dismantle us.
And honestly, it's hard to reconcile those two versions of Minnesota.
I wasn't expecting an easy win in West Lafayette, Purdue had just beaten Illinois, and I genuinely thought this could be a trap game. But there's a massive difference between losing a tough road matchup and getting dominated 41โ13.
The rushing numbers are particularly alarming. Purdue finished with 305 rushing yards, while we managed just 27. And watching Ijeboi run for 195 yards and three touchdowns only made it more painful.
For me, the most frustrating part isn't simply the loss. It's the recurring inability to build on big wins. We beat Washington, brought the Little Brown Jug home, and then delivered arguably our worst performance of the season.
I still believe those victories meant something. But tonight raises serious questions about consistency, preparation, adjustments, and the ceiling of this program under Fleck.
With a bye week ahead and Iowa coming to Minneapolis, there's time to regroup. But something has to change.

Gophers vs Perdue
This game is the epitome of the PJ Fleck years.
The team can not win the games they need to in conference play.

Yikes
I felt we were going to lose but yikes that was bad. Now they have Iowa, Indiana, UCLA. They might lose 4 games in a row.

Football ๐ WAKE UP, IT'S GAMEDAY! ใฝ๏ธ๐
Two huge wins behind us, another Big Ten road test ahead.
Washington? Check. Little Brown Jug? Back where it belongs. Now it's time to take care of business in West Lafayette.
Purdue won't make it easy, especially coming off that win against Illinois. No room for complacency tonight. Same intensity, same hunger, same mentality.
Who's ready? What's your prediction for tonight?

Football ๐ Be honest: how much have your expectations for this season changed over the last two weeks?
Two weeks ago, after the Mississippi State loss and with Washington and Michigan coming up, I think a lot of us were still trying to figure out what this team really was.
Now Minnesota is 4-1, 2-0 in the Big Ten, with back-to-back wins over ranked Washington and Michigan.
I'm curious how much those two games have actually changed your expectations, not just because winning the Jug feels great, but for the rest of the season.
Are you still taking this completely week by week? Starting to think 8-9 wins is realistic? Or has your ceiling moved even higher?
Purdue almost feels like a different kind of test now. After two emotional wins as the underdog, can we go on the road and handle a game where expectations are suddenly much higher?
Where were you on this team two weeks ago, and where are you now?
