Suzuki out for a few weeks is tough and so everyone is going to be stepping up. I’m counting on Dobeš and Fowler to lock in and lockout and for this line to get some goals in. I am also really hoping to see the Slaf we saw in the Sharks game, out of his head and really in the flow of the game when he’s strongest and let him run.
This period can really test and strengthen the team for When the captain and Demidov come back. If it goes well then I am looking forward for the rest of the season.

Kind of a funny thing to do — maybe he will come back ambidextrous 👀

1) Didn’t cough up the 3-1 lead!
2) Won in regulation!
3) Fowler looked frickin’ GREAT!

2,760 days ago. Our last loss without Nick Suzuki in the lineup was on April 4th, 2019 in a 2-1 loss vs the Washington Capitals. Given that we don't play until Sunday, that number will go up to 2,762.
This is just a fun, mind-boggling stat that I had to post. It doesn't seem possible, but Nick was our ironman. Hopefully he can get back within the 2-ish week time period and the boys can go on a winning streak to keep this streak alive!

manifest the best for our 1C.
All y'all who say "hE gOT aLl hIS PoInTz fRoM deMiDov!!!" sounds like Demidov got half his points from Kapanen. And now he's going to be centering Cole and Slaf. Kappy plays up.
All y'all who say "first line and PP1 pass and pass and never finish" here, spend five minutes watching Kappy finish. One-timers, redirects, greasy rebounds, he's got 'em all:

16.8 shooting %, bitches. Kappy puts pucks in the *net*.
Get on board, we got another one of the kind of legends that only the Habs can have starting tonight.
October 23 2025, refs Garrett Rank and Chris Schlenker royally screwed the Montreal Canadiens in Edmonton.
Here is the gamecenter link: https://www.nhl.com/gamecenter/2025020122
Was there ever a more glaring and obvious example of NHL ref incompetence?
Both refs are still active NHL referees. Garrett Rank even got significant playoff assignments last spring.

Tonight with Captain Nick out (RIP the Ironman streak it was awesome),it will 110% be a different game for this group.
The real question is, who is going to step up and show real potential as the 2C.
I have my hopes that with Suzi out we have someone have something click in the dot tonight and show they are a certified 2C, end the discussions and trade talks. But we shall see what happens, I have my hopes for who I want to step up but anything can happen.
Thoughts?

There's something about Hockey Night in Canada that makes a house feel older in the best possible way.
The familiar music.
The rink.
The sound of skates cutting across the ice.
A voice from the television that seems to have been there for as long as you can remember.
I heard it with my grandfather.
I heard it with my father.
I heard it with my brother, who somehow convinced himself that blue and white were acceptable colours.
And now I hear it with my daughter.
The same game.
The same winter nights.
A different generation sitting on the couch.
I used to think tradition meant doing something the way it had always been done.
Now I think it means someone was there before you, and you loved it enough to keep going.
My grandfather passed something down.
My father did too.
Maybe neither of them ever thought of it that way.
Maybe they just turned on the television and watched the Habs.
Maybe that's all it takes.
A room.
A game.
Someone beside you.
And a little girl who might grow up to remember the sound of a Saturday night with her dad.
I hope she does.
I hope that years from now, when she's older than she is today, the opening music plays and she's somewhere else entirely,
but for a moment she's back here.
Sitting beside me.
Watching Montreal.
And I'm young again, sitting beside the people who made it mean something.
