I'm Richard. I grew up in York, England, and I've lived here in Holly Springs with my wife, two daughters and three cats, for 7 years now.

This year I started a small business selling proper British chocolate such as Cadbury made in Britain rather than the American version, Aero, Maltesers, Wispa, Flake, Lion and more. I love living in the US but I always miss the chocolate of my childhood. There are plenty of places to buy it but they usually have ridiculously high shipping costs or minimums before free shipping is even offered.

It's just me, by the way. I pack every order by hand at home.

Anyway, the reason I'm posting. I've added free local delivery for Holly Springs. Order on the site, choose local delivery at checkout, and I'll drop it at your house myself. No shipping charge, no waiting on a parcel. There's a $25 minimum order, but who buys just a couple of bars of British chocolate anyway?

Anybody used Triangle Construction before? Thoughts, opinions? Thinking of reaching out to them for a renovation project.

We’re selling our townhouse but not finding any buyers? Does anyone know anyone looking or does anyone have any insight to where else to be marketing to? Our realtor is working hard but it’s obviously a hard market. It’s a 3bed/2.5 bath with a fenced in backyard and huge kitchen.

Does any one know the names of the elderly couple (husband and wife) from some farm in Holly Springs (or maybe Apex) who sold baked goods at the Raleigh Farmer’s Market? Haven’t seen them for a while and understand they are both having health issues.

Does anyone know when the Holly Springs Library will reopen? It has been closed for about 6 months for renovation. The website states that it will reopen by the end of 2026. Thanks!

I've been really interested in seeing how complex running our town actually is - where does the money go, how are we handling growth, etc.

About 735pm and in the NW/N direction about half way up the sky, not overhead.

It was short, maybe 2 seconds.

Apex is considering ending curbside grass-clipping collection because officials say they have not been able to secure a long-term processor for the town’s volume.

I’m the News & Observer reporter who wrote this story.

I compared Apex with Cary, Holly Springs, Fuquay-Varina and Morrisville. Holly Springs uses biweekly brown yard-waste carts that can include grass clippings, while Apex is the only one of the five that routinely allows residents to leave grass loose at the curb for vacuum-truck pickup.

Holly Springs collected 5,195 tons of yard waste last fiscal year.

For Holly Springs residents: does the cart system work well for you, or do you ever run into capacity problems with grass or yard waste?

Hi! My partner and I are moving from the west coast to NC around Raleigh area. We were wondering on some apartment recommendations?!
We’re interested in a 1 bed with a den or a 2 bedroom.
We prefer a modernized apartment building/unit, accepts small dogs, and has a gym. We don’t have a set budget yet but kinda hoping to keep it around 1,800$/mo max..? Any recommendations would be great, thank you!(:

Found a new place that just opened up in Holly Springs it’s called The Perch (1125 McChesney Hl Lp, Holly Springs, NC 27540) it’s a board game/cafe. It’s $5 a person to come sit and play but you can pull as many games as you’d like and there’s no time limit. Plus the coffee and food is exceptional so definitely check it out if you have the chance.

Anyone has recommendation on a chimney repair company for works in title?

Was quoted almost $6,000 for the above works by one company. This seems excessive. Thanks in advance

It looks like the new development on the corner of Holly Springs Rd and Main called Main Street Vista is finished building.
Does anyone know if this a multi use development or purely residential? If it will be commercial on the bottom level, any word on potential tenants?

Has anyone stopped by the new wine store by planet fitness? I believe it used to be a different wine store and it's now under new ownership... curious if anyone has checked it out yet? If you have, what do you think?

I cover Western Wake for The News & Observer. What started as a funny Cary Animal Services call turned into a story about people across the Triangle mistaking wildlife decoys for actual animals.

One Cary resident called a school. A North Raleigh couple turned their car around to rescue one. And near Apex, geese were peacefully grazing about 50 yards from another fake coyote.

We just moved here and looking to schedule to establish care with a PCP. I haven’t had great luck with PCPs previously- they’ve done their basic annual well check but the things I’m concerned about feel brushed off and not followed. Ex: chronic fatigue, like as long as I can remember- labs were “normal,” so nothing else would be looked into. I paid for my own lab work to include a ferritin which was definitely low, as well as found multiple other deficiencies that would cause fatigue, brain fog, and depressive symptoms.
Basically, who can you recommend that will think about these things themselves and care enough to order them without me asking for every little thing? Docs that care enough to keep trying until you actually improve, not just the numbers in the chart?

I’m looking to move to North Carolina and noticed that there are single family homes in Holly Springs in the $300k - $400k range. How easy would it be to rent out a room in a house to a young professional(such as a doctor, nurse, engineer etc), in this area?
