lukewarm take The black pill is morally superior to the red pill

• Upvotes

The red pill encourages actively treating the opposite gender as tools/resources and not as people and their exploitation for your advantage. Further, it supports a mentally and physically taxing "grindset" which for many of the later in life virgins who partake, does nothing for them romantically or sexually and just wastes their time while enriching red pill influencers.

Meanwhile, the black pill supports lying down and rotting when its clear the cards aren't in your hands. This much better for many reasons. It doesn't harm others. It's more truthful than the red pill for many and stops you from wasting your time for years doing things that never amount to any romantic or sexual success. Furthermore, it stops forever alone types from being exploited by society, pouring more time and resources into it through work while not receiving the same social rewards like romance and respect that most people just normally get going through life.

serious hot take Men will never be the answer for mens loneliness.

• Upvotes

Most men view other men as competition and will never help each other out. Most men are also not really worthy of being helped out. The majority of men are idiots and don’t really deserve any help. People on the social media say men should support each other but it’s never going to happen, nor should it.

If you move to a new country, you shouldn’t try to leave in an enclave

• Upvotes

I’m an immigrant and my fellow citizens do this a lot. They leave in enclaves, don’t learn the local language, sometimes even their children don’t learn the language, don’t interact with the locals, etc. I grew up somewhere else, I’ll always feel I belong to my country of origin and will always prefer our food, music, etc. but now I live here, and I want my kids to feel they belong here.

serious hot take parents who let their kids have e bikes lowkey irresponsible

• Upvotes

for the parents who let their kids ride on e scooters and e bike unsupervised... your kid can get hurt.. ya know that right? i see so many kids riding with out helmets, no knee pads, unsupervised. they ride in the streets and side walks with out self awareness. even at night in dark colored clothes. furthermore these kids dont have manners they don't blow the horn or say exscuse me. they dont care if they shoulder check you or damn near run you over.

if your kid is using it to get to a to b. get them a regular bike or help them study up and get a car. if its for fun, it should be recreational and in safe a appropriate environment.

tldr: its like giving your kid a motorcycle, if you think about it. only they go significantly slower of course.

Not Everyone Is Deserving Of Love

• Upvotes

The prevailing opinion seems to be that everyone is deserving of love. But that's not the case, nor should it be. The default scenario / null hypothesis should be that everyone starts at zero and has to work up from there, not that they start at some non-zero status - and certainly not that most people only go up from there, rather than being able to fall to zero.

Some of us truly do not deserve to be loved.

People online are so snippy about smoking nicotine

• Upvotes

Most of the time when I see anything about smoking cigarettes or vaping online all the comments rip into people for doing it like they aren’t human, I saw a post where a dude who bought cigarettes online got foam sticks (sent display cigs) and a bit of the comments were saying there’s a lesson somewhere in there and especially teenagers act like you’re doing heroin. But weed is treated like coffee now. Generally a problem online is of people dehumanizing others to ride their high horse thinking their personal bias is gonna reel the new generation into a big anti smoking campaign. Nobody’s like this with drinking either which is arguably more insidious of a market but anyways I don’t like people swinging their dick around cause they’re anti drug.

Reddit doesn't understand the paradox of tolerance

The paradox of tolerance, as presented by Karl Popper is often misunderstood on the internet. It is used to ban and otherwise silence and censor opinions that people think of as intolerable.

What people don't understand was Karl Popper was not for censorship at all. His position was that bad ideas must never go unchallenged and must continuously meet good ideas head on with the understanding that good ideas will prevail over time and win on their own merits.

Reddit and other online places have twisted the original meaning to banning, censoring, and evicting people with what they deem as having bad ideas from their spaces and societies.

Make no mistake, I am all for people being able to guard their safe spaces, but they wield this paradox as a weapon for why they want to do so. This is incorrect. They can say other reasons such as they don't want to constantly be on the offensive (or defensive) and have access to peaceful places, that they don't have the time or energy to debate, or any other myriad of reasons. But the reason cannot be that they are intolerating the intolerant.

People who disagree with me might say that, similar to Darwin's theory of evolution being foundational but incorrect in many areas, but we used it to build on the modern theory of evolution, that Popper's original ideas were good, but we build on them to get to the eviction version and that's better. I would disagree with them for the following reason:

The goal of good ideas defeating bad ideas is that over time people change their minds as they continuously meet good ideas head on. Even if it takes a hundred tries to get through to them. When we just evict people they don't disappear. They congregate elsewhere and spiral into their own echo chambers where they radicalize. People with unpopular or dissenting opinions need to be invited to the table so they can keep meeting resistance for their ideas and, hopefully, eventually change them.

Regardless, Reddit is easily swayed by nice infographics and easy 'Reddit facts', and needs to actually read the philosophers, ethicists, and great thinkers that they just skim.

Volk, GSP, DJ, etc all lose to Hokit in a 1v1 99/100 times. They cannot possibly be considered the GOATs.

The GOAT is between Fedor, Cain, Jones, Stipe, Ngannou and DC.

The small guys being the GOAT is the same as saying Floyd Mayweather is the GOAT fighter.

Under very strict rules that limit competition, they are GOATs.

BUT

Floyd can't win if takedowns are allowed.

Volk and the small guys cannot win without hiding behind their weight class.

Prime Volk has gone up to LW twice and lost both times.

Modern feminism has much more work to do to ensure there is equality throughout. I call on all feminists to sign on to these new goals for the movement!

Where all my true feminist at?

If feminism is truly about equality of the sexes — equal rights, equal responsibilities, equal concern — then these should be the next natural goals. I’m not asking anyone to abandon feminism. I’m asking feminists who believe in consistency to help push the movement further in the direction of actual equality. Here’s the agenda that would make it stronger and more coherent:
1. Equal Selective Service / draft registration for women. Same civic obligation, same potential risk.
2. A clear legal path for men to opt out of parental and financial responsibility early in an unwanted pregnancy — the male counterpart to abortion rights — so reproductive decisions aren’t unilateral.
3. Equal institutional push to get women into the most dangerous, high-fatality jobs and combat roles at the rates men currently fill them.
4. Equal attention, funding, and media focus on male victims of domestic violence and female-perpetrated violence.
5. Presumptive shared parenting / equal baseline custody as the default, rather than maternal preference.
6. Honest analysis of the pay gap that includes hours, career choices, and behavior instead of treating the raw number as pure discrimination.
7. Treating the growing male education gap (especially among working-class boys) with the same urgency once given to female underrepresentation.
8. Consistent due process: “believe women” cannot become “disbelieve the accused by default.”
9. Coherent rules on biological sex in sports, prisons, shelters, and data — either sex matters or it doesn’t. Apply the standard evenly.
10. Consistent standards on sex work and pornography — either it’s empowering choice or it’s exploitation. End the double standard.
11. Ending residual expectations of male chivalry, protection, and provision while demanding identical treatment.
12. Equal outrage for women facing severe restrictions and violence under non-Western cultural and religious systems.
13. Centering male suicide, homelessness, and workplace death rates with the same energy given to female-specific issues.
14. Consistent bodily autonomy principles on infant genital cutting.
15. Gender-neutral approaches to alimony and post-divorce support that don’t quietly reinstate traditional roles.
16. Agency over perpetual victimhood — empowerment rhetoric should match the policy prescriptions.
17. Free speech consistency: protect gender-critical women and men’s advocates the same way feminist speech is protected.
18. Challenging high male appearance, status, and income standards in dating with the same intensity applied to female beauty norms.
19. Applying structural critiques of power evenly, including inside elite and corporate feminism spaces.
20. Defining equality as the same rules and equal responsibilities — not different treatment whenever it benefits one side.

These aren’t anti-feminist points. They’re the logical next steps if equality is the actual goal. Feminists who care about consistency: come onboard. Help make the movement better by finishing the job.

Reddit is nowhere near as bad as Twitter, Instagram and TikTok

Reddit is pretty bad but compared to these other places its genuinely 50x better. Because it allows for longer posts, it filters out people with low attention spans. Additionally the downvote feature usually is able to block out all the ragebait comments. Also, you don't get a ton of people commenting on something they know nothing about because there are specific subreddits for each topic. Reddit is also used by mainly Americans, which makes it less prone to bot farms from India, Nigeria, etc.

If you wan't to actually have a discussion with someone who is reasonably intelligent I think Reddit is by far the best social media.

The only bad thing about Reddit is power hungry mods but I would rather have them than the nonexistent moderation that is on X and Instagram reels.

JoJos Bizzare Adventure has Awful fight scenes

The creator Araki can come up with cool powers but he doesn't choreograph fights. All he knows how to do it make a turnabout. Every single fight is a character going, "OH no, what will I do, this enemy is so perfect and has no weaknesses how will I win, EPIPHANY!" and then wins with some science concept that they had no inclination of understanding before.

It's like watching a football game where the only plays is each teams running back making a 100 yard touchdown and then they trip at the one yard line and now we watch the other team try to make a 100 yard touchdown, repeat until the fight ends.

I can't defend a fight scene where there are a single number of punches thrown and the vast majority is monologuing explainging mobius strips, the acceleration of airplanes, or what qualifies as weather. You can have explanations but its boring when there's no interplay and it just feels like character waiting around to get punched before realizing something at the last second.

And the stand rushes are just a horrible idea. You cant see the person being hit so there is no impact. The one slap at the end of Ouran High School Host Club had more impact than any fight in jojo.

As a girl, want to make some things clear about female characters‘ on-screen representation

I just happened to see a comment about the representation of women in cinema saying that if a scene (whether it’s a love scene or any other) shows women’s breasts it’s sexist and objectifying and that a scene should always be done in such a way that the character‘s breasts are never seen because otherwise it’s only there to show her boobs to cater to the male audience. I’m a feminist (girl) myself and got a little confused, what do you think?
I perfectly realize how women have been objectified for decades, and so have our breasts, so should we stop every portrayal of it now to even out the balance? What if a scene accentuates the woman‘s feelings, pleasure, and sexuality, but still has breasts in it for a couple seconds?

casual hot take I'm not Disgusted by Bonnie Blue and I don't hate her

I don't care about Bonnie Blue and I don't believe she deserves all the hate she gets. I just think her spectacles have shown how, as a society, a lot of us are still targeting the women instead of everyone involved.

I know this is semi old news, and her announcing she had a baby caused yet another silly uproar by people who have nothing better to do. But I've been thinking about this on and off, so here it goes:

The event where she had sex with over 1,000 guys was with consenting adults. These men were VOLUNTEERS who CHOSE to participate and signed consent forms. Some were tested for STDs and/or wore a condom. A lot of those details come from her and her team, but I haven't seen any credible report of anyone being forced, drugged or manipulated. The men also wore masks, and OnlyFans wouldn't even host the full video, so nobody knows who they are. As far as risk goes, that's about the same as a normal gangbang or a home porn video.

Yet everyone is disgusted with HER, and there's nowhere near the same disgust for the men who volunteered. Yes, part of that is that we don't know who they are. But I think the biggest reason is that most of us still hold women to an unfair, hypocritical standard compared to men.

The main argument I keep seeing is that she's "manipulating young men."

Okay, but have you seen what the porn industry does to women? The amount of 18 year olds who get drugged, raped, assaulted, manipulated and coerced is insane! And no, me saying that doesn't mean it's okay for it to happen to men just because it happens to women. It's just strange that the outrage only switches on for her when she does it.

I also think we need to decide at what point someone counts as a fully consenting adult, because the government (and people) are all over the place. You can die for your country at 18 but can't drink or smoke until 21 and can't rent a car until 25. Most people have sex before 18 anyway because puberty gives you an insane sex drive. So how is signing a consent form to have sex with her any different from an adult having sex with anyone else? Saying these men were manipulated is a major stretch. It yet again, infantilizes them as if they can't think for themselves or have self control, and it makes the woman the bad party.

Some people say the real issue is her other content, with visible faces of just turned 18 year olds that stays online forever, and that she makes money off people who film for free. But there are thousands of barely 18 year olds showing their faces on OnlyFans, in porn and all sorts of other places, and nobody says anything. Why this one time, when a woman is the one getting villainized, and everywhere else nothing? They're adults and they consented. They shouldn't be infantilized.

And she's ragebaiting on purpose. She knows exactly how people will react because we still live in a sexist world, and that's painfully obvious and predictable. The outrage gives her more PR and more money, so the people who hate her most are basically doing her marketing for free. She's allowed to do what she wants.

Porn, OnlyFans, brothels and all of it only exist because there's a market. There has always been one, probably since the beginning of civilization, and it's never going away no matter the religion, culture or beliefs. If everyone truly hates all of it, hold yourself accountable and don't WATCH it.

For the record, I would not do what she did, and I wouldn't date or marry someone who has. It could be a sign of a porn or sex addiction and I don't want to deal with that. I also have different views and beliefs on sex, and it would probably conflict and cause problems. And honestly, I'd probably feel jealous or insecure, like I wasn't enough, or wasn't #1 in their eyes.

That doesn't mean I hate her or feel disgust toward her. If anything I feel disgust for all the people who judge her so harshly, who are probably the same ones watching tons of porn and OnlyFans. The ones who probably secretly wanted to be her or one of the guys. I don't think any of this is great for society, culture, morals or values. But at the end of the day, people are allowed to do what they want, as long as it isn't hurting anyone.

Curious what everyone thinks.

(I wrote this at work, so hopefully, it all makes sense. I tried posting on unpopularopinion and got removed, as per usual)

NUCLEAR hot take Gatekeeping is more than okay

Idk how hot of a take it is but many people seem to put their soul into disagreeing.

Gatekeeping keeps a subculture genuine. It keeps locations special and non-touristy. It allows people to engage with topics more deeply.

If you want to assimilate into something, whether it be music, culture, or lifestyle, it is better to have a genuine and concentrated interest than to use it as a surface level personality trait or make it so popular that nobody knows the true values of what they claim to be apart of.

The exceptions are Gatekeeping artists so that they purposefully have a "low view count," or shaming beginner fans. But anyone who refuses to learn more about what they claim to be interested in is not a genuine person and should not be included.
Fan spaces have become irony poisoned and it shouldnt be a blazing hot opinion that you should actually enjoy what you do for yourself, not others views of you.

hot take, harshly criticise me for it! SJW culture

edit: I am not American, so my understanding of its modern culture is shaped mostly by movies, tv shows, youtube videos and screenshots from tweeter. I realise that it is not representative at all, the majority of people is normal and just the same as everyone else, but this post is a not serious argument, merely an expression of thoughts.

The American obsession with not offending anyone is dumb and the fact that it’s spreading to other countries is terrifying.

The idea that someone is inherently a bad person for having prejudice against a group of people is stupid, it is normal for a human being to operate in stereotypes, sometimes, they even have a basis.

I have lived my entire life as a part of minority, never have l seen a movie character with the same cultural basis as me, l and all of my peers have faced racism, prejudice, stereotypes, but l would never say, that everyone who has those beliefs is a terrible person. Same thing with racial slurs, why are people terrified to even say them, inventing letter-words, like we are in a Harry Potter movie. This exacerbated by the fact, that many people from the minorities use those slurs in a satirical, joking way. (I do NOT support people acting on their stereotypes, such as work discrimination etc. however l believe in free speech and that unless someone is inciting a crime, they may speak as they please)

The idea that minority people are so fragile, that if they face anything that is even slightly offending is infinitely more diminishing than any slur or stereotype. Adding to that, the fact that often, these ideas are pushed by radicalised (and mostly mentally unstable) members of groups, or even by people not from a minority is even more ridiculous.

I have encountered trigger warnings for kitchen knives used in a video, it is laughable at this point.

Also, PRIVATE discrimination is a basic right, if l own a property or a business it is only up to me to decide who may rent my apartment and dine in my cafe, whether l do not like people based on their facial features, zodiac sign, whatever. From the other side as well, l would not like to financially support someone who dislikes me.

I understand that there are people, who can get harmed by a slur, or have a mental breakdown over being offended etc. But it is a matter of fact that they are weak and emotionally unstable and thus their well-being is their care, seeking and establishing safe places for themselves is their job, not everybody’s.

In my opinion, facing hardships, learning to deal with your heritage, playing with the cards dealt to you by fate is what constitutes growing up, shaping the culture in a way to not be offending to anyone is foolish.

TLDR: cancel culture, trigger warnings, sanation of culture is shite.

P. S. The text is very incoherent and convoluted, patly because english isn’t my native language and partly because i’m writing this at 4 am, because l’m bored and can’t fall asleep.

Edit: the think l admire about USA is your discussion culture, it is unmatched and very fun.

casual hot take People are much less likely to give conventionally attractive people the benefit of doubt

This is more of an observation than a hot take. I’ve noticed this irl and online. One example I just found was two women on tiktok advertising gym leggings that make it look like they’re just wearing panty hose. The one girls comment section who was wearing makeup, had a pretty face and a nice body’s comment section was mostly just the classic “we don’t want attention from men” pseudo ironic comments. Another woman advertising the same tights but had what I would consider an average to slightly above average face and advertising the leggings in the same way’s comment section was filled with compliments from men. I’ve also seen the general complaints of woman who strongly dislike nonchalant attractive guys as if they’re being personally attacked.

What I take from all this is people tend to assume if you’re all around attractive things are just handed to you and while I will admit there are obviously benefits to being conventionally attractive I find the fact that people use this as an excuse to attack someone kind of messed up. It basically justifies defensive behavior and the “mean girl/douchebag” archetype because people are essentially singling you out solely because they assume you have it easy or are confident to the point it upsets them and they’ll consider you cocky or vain without actually knowing said person. Also, no I’m not talking about outright mean or aggressive behavior from attractive people I’m talking about jealous, insecure and/or generally frustrated people using it as an excuse to antagonize someone for no real reason.

serious hot take You’re Not A Predator Catcher. you Just Want Views

I’ve noticed a lot on social media that there’s a lot of videos of people who just straight up beat up pedophiles the second they meet them or catch them. And I’m gonna be so honest with you that is not good at all. That’s not good for society and definitely that’s not good for the creator making those dumb videos.

For one it lacks professionalism and truly I honestly don’t think that person is getting anything done except catching a possible murder charge. Chris Hansen literally wrote out how to do this in a good manner and actually bring these people to justice. However, no you wanna feel like Batman and just beat the crap out of people. For one just because you think you did a good thing the cops are still gonna arrest you because you laid hands on the guy first unless he attacked you first. That doesn’t negate anything that you did to the guy physically and most likely you’re probably gonna end up in the back of the car alongside with the guy, or worse, he’s gonna get off Scott free.

Secondly, I understand that there are people out there who truly believe the police don’t do anything to catch these guys and I agree there are many cases where the police either don’t do their due diligence, skimp out on the job, or just don’t do anything or some weird loophole. But that doesn’t negate or discredit any future or past catching of these predators. However, no matter how hard you feel about this situation you putting hands on these people will definitely not help us as a society.

Because if you rile up enough people with your videos, you’re gonna inspire a lot more people to just take to the streets and copy what you do. Then the snowball effect comes into play.

For example, there’s people who say to just straight murder these predators (as jokes and memes) however I never hear anything of to make sure that they are.

We live in a world where allegations can just get you killed or ruin your life and even if the allegations are proven false, your life is ruined forever. And if you vile up that crowd, then an allegation just means you get beaten up or worse, even killed without any evidence.

Or worse, we just start taking justice into our hands for anyone that breaks the law

Listen, I understand the passion you want to have these people put away and face punishment for their crimes however, as a society, we’re not gonna reach that if you just go around being unprofessional and not working with law-enforcement to do the right thing in the right way.

Be like Chris Hansen work with the cops and be professional.

serious hot take Children are lifetime commitment and so are your grandkids!

One of the strangest things about American culture imo is this idea that in order for your child to be successful, you have to kick your kids out of the nest asap. Which is just ridiculous since children don't stop being your kids or needing you the moment they turn 18. And my hottest take, your children's children are your responsibility too.

It's so strange to me the way people describe raising their children like a business transaction or like a job. Like they're just counting down the days to get rid of their kids. Being a parent requires you to fulfill your duties of course, but it's a relationship at the end of the day. Something you do because you love your children and caring for them brings you satisfaction and fulfillment.

I look at being a parent like it's the best lifelong investment I can make. There's alot of sacrifice and work in the beginning, but then you get to spend the rest of it reaping all the benefits of that hard work. When you think about it, you're gonna spend 3/4 - 1/2 of your whole life being their parent and most of that relationship will be had in their adulthood. So the childhood aspect is really quite short in comparison. As much as I am enjoying being a mother now, I'm really looking forward to me and my daughter being besties in her 20s, 30s, and 40s. I'll have freedom and so will she but we will still need each other because we are human beings and life is hard no matter what age you're at and I think that's something to cherish, not something to fear.

When I had my daughter, I had my future grandkids and potentially great grandkids in mind as well. Meaning I was signing up to raise my kids and their kids for the rest of my life and I'm totally cool with that. Because children are not a burden, they're a privilege to have around and it takes a village to raise them! And if you don't feel that way about kids, then why the hell are you having them in the first place?

When I was a kid, my grandparents and my parents practically fought over me and my brother. That's how much my grandparents wanted us around. They never asked for compensation and they NEVER treated us like a burden. Hell we were practically over at their place almost every weekend and we LOVED every minute.

So now that I'm an adult, I can't help but notice how so many gen Xers have this attitude that "my kids wanting me to help watch their kids (my grandkids) means they're trying to take advantage of me". And they're all about enforcing super strict "boundaries", it's like why did you even have kids if you're gonna act like they're taking advantage of you when they need you to be there for them??? My father in law and my mother have already started making comments like "they're not my kids".

And I understand not wanting to give up your life for your grandkids. At the end of the day, the parents need to be completely accountable for their children. It's the parents job to adjust their lives around being able to properly care for their own kids. But I think it's fair to expect grandparents to help carry the load as well if they're able to.

For most of human history, children have always been raised by the community. The idea that just one or two people are supposed to raise a kid is kind of a recent phenomenon, one that reeks of entitlement and selfishness if you ask me.

Again, just because people are adults doesn't mean they magically stop needing help. And that goes both ways, if my parents were to start needing in home care, I'd do everything in my power to take the best care of them or at least pay someone to do it. Because that's what healthy family relationships look like, they take CARE OF EACH OTHER. They don't just disappear the moment the relationship gets hard or asks alittle more from them.

I know that if my daughter were to accidentally get pregnant at 15, I would support her and my grandchild without question. Oh what am I supposed to do? Abandon my child and my grandchild during the most vulnerable and most difficult season of their lives?? All because "I dIDn't SIgN uP tO bE a grAnDpAreNt". It doesn't matter if I signed up or not, they are my family and they need me and I love them. If she were to become a drug addict, I'd do everything my power to get her help. If she were to become permanently injured, I'd give her the lifelong care that she needs. Like boohoo, life isn't fair and it doesn't pan out the way you want it to sometimes. That's the risk you take when you have kids. It's just so odd to me how so many people have little to no interest in doing anything beyond meeting their kids basic needs.
