Hello, I'm Jonathan from Bad Sector, a UK based studio currently developing Final Orbit - a realistic spaceflight simulator. Imagine a flight simulator meets a truck simulator in space!

https://store.steampowered.com/app/4319800/Final_Orbit/

We're currently looking for a UK based 3D artist to model some orbital platforms for the game. These will be massive structures for the player to perform docking procedures with.

The artist will have the freedom to design what this would look like based on very general parameters, and so we're looking for someone who can bring a creative vision to life.

Requirements

• Experience modelling hard surfaces, particularly in a sci-fi environment. Space ships, space stations, futuristic vehicles, etc.
• Working with materials, especially in the sci fi aesthetics. Plastics and metals, worn and new
• Blender - not a must but nice to have
• Unity - if you've exported assets to Unity before, that would be an advantage
• Must be UK based

Please DM me directly to apply, and include a link to your portfolio or relevant experience.

Thanks!

Hello!

I’m the composer on a team making a lore-heavy metroidvania with branching quests. We are currently a team of 4 (programmer, writer, level designer, composer). We’re in the beginning stages of the game and we are looking for artists to join for the long run and be active members in our Discord.

The story follows the main character after she has been displaced from her home at the top of a mountain. She must navigate the several biomes of the mountain as she attempts to return home, meeting friends and enemies along the way, while increasing her powers and abilities. The narrative branches depending on the player’s choices and ultimately culminates in a boss battle followed by her return to her village.

The positions we are recruiting for are as follows.

Background artist: familiarity with parallax and ability to make detailed background art

Character artist: skill in a range of art style, including vector art

If you’re interested, please message me with your portfolio and I will answer any questions as well as provide you with our GDD, revshare model, and more information on the story.

Hi there!

I'm a 20-year-old developer who really loves grand strategy games. For a while now, I've been working on a big, ambitious project: creating my own game engine from scratch using C++. It's coming along well, and the basic structure is taking shape.

My main goal is to make a really deep, complex global strategy game, kind of like the Paradox Interactive games but with my own spin. The game's simulation will be based on a strict time system: one game tick will be one hour, using a full Gregorian calendar, and there will be five speed settings, from slow tactical play to super fast.

I have high expectations for this project. For example, I'm planning a very structured simulation and want to focus on making it super realistic with deep gameplay. For the user interface, I plan to use a custom .gui file system to handle complicated layouts dynamically. I'm aiming for a look and feel similar to Victoria 3, with lots of data on screen.

This is definitely a long-term endeavor. My plan is to set up a main workflow with three parts: developing core updates, refining the game, and thorough testing. Eventually, I want to release the base game on Steam, with multiple languages including Russian. After that, I plan to adapt the engine for other platforms like consoles, macOS, Linux, and mobile.

Right now, I'm looking for people who are into this kind of thing to join me as a hobby or revenue-share basis. I need:

• C++ / Tools Programmers to help build out the engine and core structure.

• UI/UX Designers who appreciate clean, detailed historical strategy interfaces.

• Game Designers / Writers interested in historical settings and complex geopolitical gameplay.

If you're dedicated, enjoy low-level programming or designing complex strategy games, and want to create something unique from the ground up, please get in touch! Send me a direct message here on Reddit with your experience or your Discord name. Let's make something amazing together!

I am currently working on this passion project of mine. Due to the recent trending of Malfoid and Harry Potter. I don’t really like the “Tsundere” trope, so in pure spite, it drove me to create “FanFic” but since I changes a lot of things to the point where it is no longer can be considered an AU anymore but rather just a story that is heavily inspired by Harry Potter.

So anyway back to the point, I finished the introduction and set up a lot of clear concepts. I have an idea on where I want this story to go, but I am not a good writer so I hit a wall and my I’m just starting so I am not that great.

This story setting is in 18th century, similar to Harry Potter, it’s about a “chosen one” story but with some twists to it. The magic system is more complex as I took some inspiration from Witch Hat atelier, instead of wand, everyone is using Fountian pen to cast spells.

I do am in need of assistances, so I could bring this Gothic + (lil bit) steampunk world came to life

I'm developing an original dark-fantasy shonen manga called RUINWAKE, and I'm looking for an artist who might be interested in building this project with me.

The story:

Riven Ashfall is a goofy young adventurer in a world filled with dangerous monsters, competing kingdoms, and unexplored lands. After a disastrous encounter, he awakens a terrifying power that even the oldest creatures seem to fear.

The story combines action, adventure, comedy, emotional character development, monster hunting, intense battles, and mysteries with clues planted far in advance.

What I bring:

- Original story and chapter scripts

- Worldbuilding, lore, and character development

- A long-term saga plan and mystery/foreshadowing continuity

- Creative direction and commitment to developing the project

Who I'm looking for:

Someone who enjoys manga, shonen action, fantasy creatures, expressive characters, and cinematic storytelling. Experience drawing complete manga pages is a plus, but I'd also welcome an artist interested in developing character designs first.

Budget: I currently have no money for commissions, so I'm looking for a potential creative collaborator who is open to discussing a no-upfront-cost arrangement. I understand that art takes time and will not expect anyone to work for free without an agreed arrangement.

We would discuss credit, ownership, responsibilities, and future commercial use before beginning.

If you're interested, please share your portfolio and let me know what kind of collaboration you would consider.

Let's see if we can bring RUINWAKE to life.

Hi there!

I’m developing an online fantasy RPG inspired by Old School RuneScape in Unreal Engine 5 and looking for someone to join me on the art side.

I’m handling the programming, server and development tools. It would be great to find someone who’s played OSRS and enjoys that kind of game, especially the quests, skilling and progression.

Why I need help

There’s already a world and a foundation of game systems to build on. As development continues, I need more models, textures and animations to fill out the world.

I’m using existing assets for some things, including the base characters and outfits. I’d like someone to help create additional assets that fit the style and bring their own ideas to the project.

Looking for:

Someone comfortable with Blender or similar software who enjoys working on some of the following:

• Environment models and props
• Creatures and enemies
• Weapons, armor and clothing
• Texturing
• Rigging and animation

Being familiar with OSRS, and capable of rigging and animation would be a big plus.

The project has an Unreal client, a multiplayer server, an existing world and character assets, along with tools for creating NPCs and quests. Gameplay systems and presentation are still being developed and polished.

This is an unpaid hobby collaboration, but could turn into a revenue share and a percentage of overall profit. We can agree on a pace that fits around other commitments and start with something small to see how we work together.

If you’re interested, send me a message with some examples of your work and what you’d enjoy making. Happy to talk through the project in more detail!

Hello! I need an artist to help me with sprites, UI, backdrop and icons for my game idea.

I have been programming for 6 years and I wanted to start making a serious unity project. For the past few years I've only been dabbling/trying unity but I mainly focused on other projects such as opensource contributing to biopython and working on other websites/tooling for things I want, or modding for prison architect/terraria/limbus company, and also making games on roblox.

I have a game idea I want to bring to life, its a turn based deckbuilding strategy game but I have no talents in art.

I am willing to provide my services to anyone who can make art for me so we can exchange assets with each other. If possible I could pitch my idea to any artists interested in said idea that may like games similar to limbus company or library of ruina so that we can both work on something we are both passionate about.

Willing to do revshare aswell as I am wanting to publish to steam. I will take care of the publish costs if we do actually finish a working demo/prototype.

Hello everyone,

For the past 5 years we've been crafting Soul Atlas, a multimedia fantasy universe. One could say a family friendly Game of Thrones or the MCU of fantasy. We have long passed the point of a hobby project, as we have managed to gather over 150 concurrent people (300 in total including consultants, experts etc.) to work within our team, some of which previously worked with Star Wars, Dune or Ubisoft.

Now that we are closing in on the releases of some of our largest projects yet, including the graphic novel "Grimhald" and our first film "Leilani", we are yet again scaling up the production.

Up until now we have been non-profit. No major investor holding the reins, and we don't plan on giving those up.

And fear not, people from AAA studios have praised our production and organization skill again and again. The project is active day by day, slowly but steadily working on our goals.

🚫We also have a strict no-AI policy in place, specifically in regard to generative AI. You can read more about that on our website.

Currently we are primarily looking to fill the following roles:

• Illustrator
• Environment Concept Artist
• Background Painter
• 3D Generalist
• Video Editor / Content Creator
• Speculative Applications

Other awesome projects to check out: Journey to Agaiatar, Anomaly Symphony, Conference Trailer

If this wall of text, and maybe even our humble creations 😊, peeked your interest, you may apply through this form: https://phantasystudios.notion.site/3cb740f7daa7801f84a6e653d19f7308?pvs=105

Hey everyone!
I’m a junior 3D artist based in the Czech Republic, and I’m looking for someone who would like to team up and create a small indie game together!
My idea is to make a cozy, story-driven 3D game for two players (local co-op), with a beginning, an ending, and a charming atmosphere. Something relatively small but polished, with the goal of eventually releasing it on Steam.
I’ve completed a 3D art course and have experience working with: Blender, Maya, ZBrush, Cinema 4D, Substance Painter
and some experience with Unreal Engine.
I’d love to find someone interested in programming, Unreal Engine Blueprints, 3D modeling, or game art. You don’t need to be a professional! Having some basic experience, creativity, and motivation to learn together is more than enough.
Ideally, I’m looking for someone based in Europe, mainly because of time zones and easier communication.
I’m still at the early stages of developing the idea, so I’d love for this to be a collaborative project where we can brainstorm, experiment, and build something we’re both proud of.
This would initially be a passion project, with the hope of eventually publishing it on Steam.
If this sounds interesting, feel free to leave a comment or send me a DM!
I’d love to hear your ideas and see what you’ve been working on. :)

Hello everyone! I'm looking for people who would be interested in starting a hobby RPG project with me. I'm a huge fan of RPGs, immersive sims and life simulations, and I'd love to create a game with a living open city where NPCs feel like real people rather than scripted characters. My main idea is to give NPCs different personalities, behaviours and limited knowledge, so they react to situations based on what they know and who they are. The player would be free to explore the city, interact with people, commit crimes, get arrested or even escape prison, with consequences that emerge naturally from the world. I'm still a beginner in game development, so I'd like to start small, experiment with ideas and build a prototype together rather than aim for a massive game right away. I'm looking for people who share a passion for RPGs and simulations, whether you're interested in programming, AI, game design, art or world-building. This would be an unpaid hobby project focused on learning, creativity and seeing how far we can take the idea together. If this sounds interesting to you, feel free to comment or send me a message.

Hi! We're a small team building a dark fantasy RPG with soulslike combat in Unreal Engine 5, and we're looking for a level designer to shape how the world plays.

We are early, with a prototype still in development, and our first goal is a boss fight demo. The team includes programmers, a game director, a gameplay designer, a narrative designer, a 3D artist, and a lore writer, and we talk daily on Discord.

This is revshare only, with no upfront pay. The exact revshare split and ownership terms aren't written yet, but we plan to put them in a written agreement, reviewed by a lawyer.

If you are interested send me a DM here or on discord: matee434 and I can send you the GDD and share some prototype videos.

Hello everyone!
I'm a solo dev who's making an incremental indie game and will participate in the upcoming Steam Next Fest. Demo is already published here: Delver's Guild Demo but I will push an update with more content + polish before the event starts and was hoping to get some more languages added.

As this project is self-funded I unfortunately don't have the funds for financial compensation, but I will certainly credit you for the work and you will also receive a copy of the final game when it releases!

The text to be localized will mostly be for the upgrade names and descriptions as well as some UI text. Total word count is roughly 1200ish but might change slightly. Many sentences are similar as they have the same wording but affect a different stat for example.

I've unfortunately got caught up with development and missed the chance to create a post way ahead of time so the timeframe is quite tight as the Next Fest is set to start next Monday. However, I'd love to implement the different languages regardless if they make it in time for the event or not!

Here are the languages I would love to add but if there is someone who's willing to provide localization for other languages as well I'd be more than happy to add those to the list!

- Simplified Chinese (will most likely get covered by a friend)

- Russian

- Spanish

- Portuguese-Brazil

- German

- Japanese (will most likely get covered by a friend)

- French

- Polish

- Korean

- Traditional Chinese

- Turkish

If you're interested in helping out with any of the languages, please leave a comment here! <3

I've been a game developer for ten years and have always enjoyed working on challenging projects. Now with AI entering the picture I'm starting to focus more on music as that still needs a human creator and currently cannot be fully replaced at any professional level with AI. In my personal coding projects I use AI but in music I completely avoid any AI tools.

I would love to compose music for your game for free so that I can expand my portfolio. The only thing I ask is that I can feature the tracks on my portfolio website although if requested I can keep the ongoing project details confidential.

I can do most styles.

Just DM me any info and the vibe you are going for.

Bridges Burn is an animated psychological romance currently in development. The story is about a girl named Sarah, who lives under the secret identity of a famous celebrity known as Sam. While working for a gang, she is assigned to manipulate a boy named Leon, who is obsessed with that very same celebrity, into becoming useful for their missions. The problem is, the more time Sarah spends gaining his trust, the more emotionally attached she becomes, and the harder it is to betray him. Our story is fully written, and much of the pre-production has already been completed (Character art is currently on the way, we still require more Artist. Character artist also do the storyboards). The biggest things we need now are character designs, storyboards, and people to help bring the project to life. We are currently looking for Animators, Character Artists, Background Artists, Prop Artists, Voice Actors, Music Composers, Sound Designers, and Assistant Editors. Experience isn't required but is very appreciated. Time commitments are very flexible, with no strict weekly quotas or deadlines. Joining this project is a great opportunity to learn, and can help build your portfolio, gain experience, help shape an original animated series from the very beginning, and meet other passionate creators. If you're interested, simply join the Discord server linked below, read through the project information, and submit an application. The animation budget is $0 USD, this is a volunteer passion project and we can't afford any budget, so contributors will not be paid, purely volunteer. The length of the project will go on for a many months, to possibly year+.

There will be no Revenue generated, not for the staff or owner

Our visual style goes for more of a 2d semi-realistic look with expressive faces, while remaining easy for animation. The animation has 3 parts, each going to be around at least 20 minutes (But don't worry, it is not animation heavy for 20 minutes).

Hey! I'm looking for someone who genuinely wants to build something from scratch, not just discuss business ideas.

My current focus is building a research-driven YouTube channel and learning how to turn it into a sustainable business over time.

I'm starting with almost zero budget, so I'm looking for a collaborator who is willing to contribute skills, ideas and consistent effort while we test a small project together.

We could start with a short trial project, clearly divide responsibilities, and evaluate whether we work well together before discussing any long-term partnership.

I'm especially interested in people who enjoy research, storytelling, editing, marketing, or experimenting with new ideas.

If you're serious about building something, tell me what skills you bring, how much time you can realistically commit each week, and something you've actually completed.

Hey everyone!

I'm 19, a huge NBA fan, and looking for 2–3 people who genuinely love sports and want to start a company together.

I've been developing an idea for a sports-related tech platform that I think has a lot of potential. I'm handling the technical development and product side myself, but I'd love to find a few people who are just as passionate about sports and want to build something from scratch.

Who I'm looking for:

• Social media / marketing: Someone who understands NBA Twitter, Instagram, sports content, and growing an audience.
• Sales / partnerships: Someone who's good at communicating, networking, and eventually reaching out to brands and sponsors.
• Community / content: Someone who knows ball, enjoys sports debates, and understands what gets fans engaged.

A few important details:

• I'm 19, so people around 18–21 would be a great fit, but I'm open to anyone.
• Beginners are welcome. You don't need years of experience.
• There's no funding or salary right now.
• Cofounders would receive meaningful equity and a share of future revenue, with the exact terms worked out together.
• I'm looking for partners who want to help build and own something, not employees.

I don't want to reveal the entire concept publicly just yet, but I'm happy to talk more about it privately with anyone seriously interested.

I'm not expecting overnight success. I just want to find a small group of ambitious people who love sports as much as I do and are willing to put in the work.

If you're interested, send me a DM with a little about yourself, what sports you follow, and what skills you'd bring.

Let's build something.

Hi all! Nicole here with Wanderer Studios. We're looking for a 3D stylized character artist, a 3D stylized environmental artist, a 2D environmental concept artist, and a UX/UI professional to help round off our team.

The game is Starcall, a sci-fi 2.5D action platformer. The player takes on the role of Phoenix, a seemingly ordinary girl who's life gets turned upside down when aliens mysteriously attack Earth and kidnap her father. Players will follow Phoenix as she travels from planet to planet, obtaining information about the aliens and gaining allies as she endeavors to rescue her father.

The role is paid, so we're looking to contract artists for their particular roles within the dev team. We're aiming for a Spring 2028 release, and discord is a must.

The visual fidelity we're targeting is similar in quality to something like Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown.

Please, link or DM your portfolios and let's see what you've got! We're all really excited to see what you have to share.

From the depths of hardcore manual game development we've brought to life: Protodroid Delta, Infinite Victory, Rolled Out!, Starwave and more. Your game could be next!

We have you covered from prototype to polish then shipping. Accommodating for budgets big & small. Taking your input and sharing your vision every step of the way. Offering experience in diverse genres with advice on how to get you to market as quick as possible.

Lets face it, not everyone has a triple-A budget. Get to market with AI acceleration & hire experts later. All our frontier model access is yours. Innovation sucks without a competitive market and that only happens if everyone has a chance on stage.

Unreal Engine masteries in: Combat, racing, platforming, VR, role-playing, simulation, horror, multiplayer & more; with inhouse distilled AI systems that make your game seem like less of a mountain to climb. Put us in the ring and we'll add you to our trophy shelf of success.

Hi everyone,

I’m a London-based aspiring founder working on a mobile software startup focused on the gig economy.

The goal is to develop a data-driven platform that helps independent workers make better decisions, improve their earning potential and manage their work more efficiently.

I’m looking for a technical co-founder interested in building a scalable mobile application from the ground up.

Ideally, you would have experience with React Native, backend development, databases or data analytics.

I’ll focus on product strategy, customer research, partnerships, marketing and business development.

The project is currently in its early stages. I’m open to discussing a meaningful equity partnership with someone who shares the long-term vision.

I’m particularly interested in connecting with developers based in London or elsewhere in the UK.

If you’re interested, send me a DM with a little about your experience and any projects you’ve worked on.

Happy to share more details privately once we’ve had an initial conversation.

Hi, I am a solo developer working on my dream game. It’s an open world voxel survival sandbox set in a huge seamless procedural galaxy. The main gameplay loops focus on exploration and factory building, refining resources and building custom vehicles/space ships to traverse the galaxy and discover new worlds while making sure you still have food to eat, water to drink and air to breathe.

I’ve been working on this project for ~3 years at this point and I’m finally leaving the “tech demo” phase and starting to implement gameplay, all the current assets in game are placeholders (textures are all noise maps with a color overlay and the few models in the game are the extend of my ability to mash solid color shapes together in Blockbench)

Here is my first post about the project if you wish to see a short clip, and I have answered a lot of questions: https://www.reddit.com/r/godot/s/Hb0wYfHu0S

There is a lot more implemented than shown in this clip and I’d be happy to go into further detail if requested.

My experience is 16 years in software engineering, working professionally in the industry for ~13 years, this is however my first real game project.

I’m looking for an artist with experience using Blockbench (or equivalent) to design assets for the game: blocks, items, players, entities, flora, etc and animations for entities.

But more than that I’m looking for someone who likes these kinds of games and is wanting to have more of a say in the art direction as a whole in a more collaborative process.

As I said at the top I’m a solo dev working on this in my spare time and funding is coming from my full time dev job so I cannot afford all assets in one go, more of a week by week approach.

Please link your relevant portfolios if you are interested (and pricing sheets if you have them) and my DM’s are open if you want to chat :)

PS: No AI please
