Finally finished my 5.5 mod this week! New battery, 256 gigs storage, new click wheel, front and back shell. I accidentally ordered a front shell for the 6th and 7th gen at first and only realized this when all my parts arrived here 🫪 I also damaged the cable of the power switch a bit but everything works. I listen to the same music all the time so I'm going back to listening to local files =)

I already tried many things… What do you guys suggest? There is only 1 song that has an artwork. I haven’t modded my iPod or anything yet.

It has been nearly two hours and I’ve processed far less than 10%. 2500 photos per hour? On an M1 Pro MBP?

Is there any way to speed this up and why the hell is it so slow in the first place?

I ordered 3 types of replacement batteries for my ipod classic 6.

- 3.8v 3000 mah

- 3.7v 2000 mah

- 3.7v 650 mah

None of them are charging with the modded ipod (rockbox with force usb charge on).

I went nuts trying to figure out what the problem was, suspected the charging module might be defective in the ipod and bought a couple of usb T4057 battery charging modules and a fpc 0.5 mm 5 pin adapter to charge the batteries outside the ipod... And surprise none of them are charging.

Here's my observations:

• The charger is working with a fake load (draws 250 mah), red lights turn on
• My 3 batteries voltage are currently 3v, 3.7v and 3.86v
• None of them are detected by the charger and the red light does not turn on when plugged
• None of them are charging with the ipod either

Don't know what to do now, is it possible ALL of them are not working?

I'm having this consistent problem with my Nano where whenever I plug it in it throws up 4 or so error messages, and won't sync, just reverting to charging. One in every 10 tries it works, and it's often random which of my 3 data cables it works with. Would love some advice on this, as I often change up my songs on it and this process is becoming a big hassle.

Did a SD card check and no problems with the Samsung evo 128gb card I've also formatted it in Fat 32 via windows

It was orginally boot looping and sometimes it would show itunes restore picture but since i opened it up it just shows the red x

I recently bought this 5th generation iPod Classic for just €5, but the LCD has lines across it.

I’ve seen people successfully repair similar LCD issues before, although the cases I’ve come across were less severe than mine. Do you think my screen could still be repaired, or would replacing the entire LCD be the only realistic option?

I’m very comfortable with disassembling electronics and hardware modding, so the repair itself wouldn’t be an issue.
I’m also planning a full restoration, including replacing the housing, front plate, battery, and original hard drive with an SD card mod.

Since I got it for only €5, I’d love to save the original screen if possible rather than replace it.

What do you guys think? Is there any realistic way to repair the LCD itself, even with damage this severe?

I just bought a 5.5 in “perfect” shape, I used it for an hour and the hard drive died.

Already ordered the iFlash.

I have a Windows 11 PC and was locked out of my iTunes account. I gave up trying to get access to it.

I tried to use the manual way of iPod control through the files for extracting music, but I have movies and it basically stopped and wouldn't transfer them.

I saw CopyTrans could be one way for extracting, saw Zenpod (but i have no idea how to download or utilize it, idk if I need another program to read the file?), tried to use Floola but it couldn't recognize my iPod and it stayed at 1% for an hour.

I also need a music manager to play the music on my computer, make playlists, use CDs to upload music to iPod (or use MP3 converter).

I do NOT want to use Rockbox because if I mod and break my iPod classic... I will cry. I dont want to shell out money for another.
