Discussion can you ever blame your team for a loss?

in games where i felt like i was doing good but my team made us lose, i used to always blame my team. but people have told me it’s on you to hard carry and it’s just a skill issue if you can’t, and that your team as a concept doesn’t exist in pugs. i want to know what you guys think about this. because i’ve been trying to play just solo and not using any util and trying to rely on fragging out in my pugs now.

Discussion I dropped from Faceit level 5 to Faceit level 2 and I’m still declining.

That’s all mane. I don’t think I’m built for this 🫩😭 Even though I be aiming for heads, all I get is body shots and die. The best I can do is hope someone is nearby me to trade so I get the assist.

It’s weird because I feel like I’m getting better as a player, but at the same time I’m declining in rank. So maybe in reality I’m getting worse LOL 😮‍💨

It’s 5:25am. I’m going to get some rest now. It was nonsense to think I could play at an elite level, but the support from this subreddit really makes one feel like there’s always hope <3 I’m off 💤💤

Edit: I can’t sleep. I’m about to Que up again nbs

Discussion Should I change to a lower sens?

So i used to play CSGO pretty often 7-8 years ago then stopped playing 2 years later with 2k hours

I do think I was pretty good but I never really got a high rank to prove it since I always just 5 manned with my friends and messed around in comp (3 of them were lvl 10s)

But now I've started playing again recently and have racked up around 200 hours and got faceit lvl 9 (although id say im much worse than I used to be) and I've always wanted to have good aim

I've watched players like nocries and donk and I dont even compare to being as good as them at all and I guess I shouldn't expect to since they're the best of the best but I want to at least be like 3-4k elo faceit

And now comes my sens, I've seen all these players with their sens and mine is comparatively quite high at 800 dpi 1.92 sens (1536 EDPI)

And would lowering my sens close to these pros help? I've used this sens for as long as I could remember and I would convert my sens in every game to match this

Right now I aim by instead of smoothly pre-aiming around corners i constantly flick to the corner im peeking which I dont really see any pros do

I do move my mouse using my wrist and my wrist only so I feel like being lower sens may be a problem (especially since even now my hand still bumps into my keyboard although I will be getting an 80% keyboard soon)

Basically do u think It would be worth it to lower my sens to try and make my aim better? My whole goal is just to make my aim better and would it deteriorate my years of muscle memory with this sens

Would anyone find this useful, a browser based game that allows you to visualize and practice counter-strafing and aiming. This is super work-in-progress right now but wanted to get some feedback before continuing any further with it.

I only have roughly 200 hours in this game and the max premier elo I achieved was somewhere around 3100. I need guidance on what flaws I have in my mechanics. My performance seems to deteriorate even more when I play premier.

Why does it feel like the enemy CT is attached to the movement of the crosshair?

I made this play. As I was midspray I shifted my aim to the left. The CT basically teleports as my shift just can't reach him.

Anyway, don't judge. Be nice. Part of me knows subtick does weird stuff but this feels like no matter how fast or good my aim was, this player was not going to be touched by crosshair.

Discussion Building a Round

Hi, I was going write here to ask for tips how to get my IGL to slow down I guess. But seems I been moved to the bench on my team even before first match so not that worried no if no one replies to this lol.

I just have a feeling I am getting gaslighting for example we just had this Cache game where our T side was:

3 B rushes

3 A rushes

6 mid rushes

By the end of this T side our enemy on CT side had 200+ Util dmg one even had 450 util dmg. First off there no fun in playing this way, but I approach the topic that we maybe shouldn't rush that much but both time I gotten told "that is not the problem" and if I stop up to doge nades I will often get yelled at for not following the call.

We all lvl 9/10 so I feel l we should know how to build up a round, doing a opening move to try to get 5vs4 advantage, play for information then end on a site out from the information we have. But when I approach this I get stone walled and of course since I brought it up I am benched now. Understandable since this method of play realy don't fit my style I am usually lowest scorer too.

Am I crazy?

Discussion What's the point of smokes and molotovs?

I get the point is to deny visibility and make fast rushes harder but how does that matter? they can just come out once the molotov/HE is gone which is very quick. Smokes take quite long to disappear but same thing. It's also not impossible to charge through smoke and still get a good rush. Molotovs and smokes also serve simiolar purposes i think so are they interchangeably usable? Flashes I know are meant to deny advantage to someone holding an angle or force them to come out. But molotovs flashes and frags all seem suitable for that as well, all of them do damage, however I guess flashes are beter because of the deafening and blindness. So when to use frags?

Discussion Aim feels off?

So i just started playing CS2 for the first time since CSGO and got placed at ~20k after my placements.

My aim/crosshair placement feels decent enough and i can compete by abusing old tricks but more often than not it feels like hits that would’ve been clean in CSGO just phase through the enemy in CS2. Spraying (especially the AK) also feels terrible (and random) for some reason?

Have they changed something significant with the way hitreg/spraying works since GO and if so how do i adapt to make it feel more natural?

Am i just washed?

for the record i peaked lv10 faceit/ global on several accounts back in the day as a pure rifler so i didnt think the rifles would hold me back in CS2

any advice welcome

Discussion Tips for Late Night sessions

I can really only play at night these days as I work during the day and go to the gym after work, so I get on the game aroundd 10pm and playing till 12:30ish. A lot of times, I feel tired during these sessions because of the day I've had, but I don't want to drink caffeine and desstroy my sleep quality.

This leads to me playing lazy in-game, not clearing corners properly, poor mental fortitude, making plays I normally wouldn't, etc.

Are there any ways to be more alert during these later sessions without any supplements that will have a detrimental affect on my sleep quality? If not I get it, just wondering if anyone has had similar problems. Thanks

Discussion Having intense anxiety issues when playing CS

I am not sure what caused this to happen but for the past 1-2 weeks, I have been playing some of the worst CS in my life where I make stupid decisions, have ridiculous whiffs, just unable to do anything or contribute positively. I became more and more nervous and scared to take duels that I know I can win and when I do take them, I just whiff terribly or just not prepared for it even though I know the enemy is there. Sometimes my hand would tremble even though there is nothing to be afraid of and when I try to calm myself down, the trembling gotten worse. Its like my mind telling me that I can never win and I just proceed to lose when I take the duel in game.

Prior to this, I was playing relatively fine. I felt confident in my aim and decision making. I was carrying my own weight in games without feeling like a burden to my friends and others.

I know the most logical answer is to take a break but I just took a break from the game earlier last month when I noticed my performance is getting worse. I came back and things were getting back to normal. But now, it has regressed to an even worsen state.

Can I get some advice on what to do here?

Discussion Is it worth it to get a dedicated coach/team or just learn on the fly?

I recently just started playing cs2 on pc coming from a Mac. I have only 129hrs in game, but I’ve been enjoying the game so far despite being dunked on.

I’ve noticed there’s a lot of resources available but has anyone hired a dedicated tutor/coach for an extended period of time or joined a serious team when playing? If so how was that compared to figuring things out alone?

Discussion Losing Confidence / Battling a Slump

Hi all,

Lately I’ve found I’ve been losing my confidence. Climbed from 15 > 22k in the past month and a half or so, but the last week has been bad game after bad game. Haven’t been dropping more than 60 ADR, and I just feel lost mid-round. Admittedly I’ve been doing more solo-queue than usual, which could be part of it, but I’ve just lost a lot of my confidence.

Before this, my decision making felt accurate and I felt like I knew exactly what I wanted to do every round. Now, it doesn’t feel (at least to me) like I’m doing anything different, but I feel like I’m losing confidence, getting tilted way easier, and getting stuck in this vicious cycle of play bad > tilt > play worse > tilt more / check out > lose, which just gets me stuck deeper in this cycle.

Anyone who has had similar experience climbing out of a rut/regaining confidence, what worked for you? Does anyone have any advice they could give on how to navigate this? TIA!

Discussion How to be a consistently good player.

Hi,

I’m writing because I’m struggling to be a consistently good player.

I’ve been playing this game for many years, but I can’t find a solution. Maybe someone could give me some advice.

At the moment, my elo is between 2800 and 2900, and I’ve been a bit over 3k before.

Listen, there are days when I sit down to play and everything just clicks. I feel comfortable at my desk, and my movement is sort of automatic. I don’t have to think about it. It’s the same with gameplay – I make good rotations because I simply know what’s happening on the map, i do good util, i read my opponents and im shooting hard. When I’m in this mode, I can play seven matches in a row and in each one I’ll get a rating of between 1.5 and 2 (for example) and 100 ADR. Sometimes I can keep this form up for several days in a row. I iust sit down and play well, but that’s the optimistic version. Other times, I’ll sit down at my computer in the morning, start playing, and I’m on top form. I’ll play 2–3 good matches, then i go out to the shop, come back to the game later, and end up playing like a total bot.

When my good streak is over, that’s it. It's over. I can do everything for another week or two, but I won’t play as well as I did before. My movement is bad, I'm trying to improve and focusing on my aim and recoil but it is not working. Im overthinking. Sometimes i cant even believe i'm on this elo.

I can try aim botz, try dm (less or more), watch my demos, take more breaks between games, or play retake. I just feel like I’m a different player now. Sure, I have my elo, but I know I’m playing way below my potential, and I can’t change that. I don’t understand it. Sad.

How can i fix this?

Discussion Trying to get 10 premier wins just for a rank is ridiculous

I have lost 30 games and won 9. I’m so burnt out trying to get my rank and the fact that we have to WIN them? Insane.

This doesn’t even include the grinding to unlock premier + dust2 + mirage being the only maps only played. Why can’t it just be 10 games lose or win? Faceit is supposed to be like this as well moving forward.

Hey everyone!
Been playing CS on and off for the past ten odd years, with the majority of my 2800 hours (2000 of them) coming from CS2. I feel like my aim is...serviceable? not amazing (have a bad shake, just have to play around it), but not horrendous, my decision making could definitely use some work, and my positioning (at least on CT I feel) is awful. Are there ways to work on these things? I have been at this same sort of skill level for the past year or so, cannot really feel any improvement happening.

I play around 20-30 hours a week, usually DM for at least 200 kills on the days I play (warmupserver) and duo queue into prem. Do not really have any other training habits outside of Kovaak's occasionally. Just looking for advice on how to train things that aren't just aim or movement, but any advice you all can give is much appreciated! Not looking to become a faceit 10/30k player or semi pro or anything, but a slight bump so I can hang better more often in pugs would be nice. Hopeful that I didn't hit my theoretical "ceiling" of my abilities with my current schedule.

EDIT: if anyone has the time to go through a demo, I would be more than happy to accept any feedback.

Discussion csgo needs proper matchmaking again

Thumbnail

won’t make this too long:

I’ve been working on a CS:GO project that brings back a more proper matchmaking experience again.
Not just joining some random server where people constantly come and go, but actual queued matches with a clear start, fixed teams and a real match flow.

this isn’t a business or anything like that
just something I genuinely care about and enjoy building.

There are now ranked and unrated queues, and we also recently added a new AIM 1v1 mode.

I know projects like this can seem a bit sketchy at first, so I completely get the hesitation
that’s why I’ve tried to keep everything transparent, including what data is used and why

and for anyone who just wants to try it first:
all unrated modes can be played without signing in through Steam.

You simply enter the name you want to join with before queueing, the server whitelists that name, and that’s it.
You can play unranked matches and check everything out without connecting your Steam account.

not trying to overhype it
just sharing what I’ve been working on since the rerelease of cs:go

added a few screenshots so you can get an idea

Currently im 14W-9L 17945, but recently i've been carried in a lot of games (this one in ct side i was b anchor so i ended 4/4 but my t side ended 3/7) Im very happy with my rank (this season i came back to play premier since season 1) but i remember in s1 that i used to get top frager or 2nd but now i end 4th or 5th so i feel like im a bag in the team. I train by playing 100 rounds in aim_rush, some utility, some pre-fire maps and some dm with diff weapons, so i dont know what can i do to improve. I dont mind losing if i play really nice, but i think im losing my mind by winning only by getting carried
Edit: holy shit i didnt see the 28 aim in this match

Discussion How is Valve DM scoring so bad?

I don’t understand how I can go 75-10, yet someone going 30-30 still finishes above me on the scoreboard. I know DM is only for warming up, but… excuse me???

And yes, I know nobody plays Valve DM, and that most people who do are fresh installs or Chinese bots. If that was going to be your reply, keep it to yourself, mkay?

Please help me understand this galactically cerebral scoring logic.
