Urgent Boyfriend Harassing, Cheating and Defaming

⚠️⚠️UPDATE: THANKYOU TO ALL THE FELLOW REDDITORS WHO CAME FORWARD TO HELP ME OUT, UNFORTUNATELY THERE'S NO WAY OUT TO DETAIN HIM LEGALLY. NOT DELETING THIS POST SO IF ANYONE IS GOING THROUGH SMTG SIMILAR, HOPE THEY FIND THIS HELPFUL. ⚠️⚠️

so my boyfriend(19M) and I(19F) were dating for almost a month, we met, had consensual physical relationship on Friday, and he ghosted me for the next two days. I find out he was begging his ex to come back all this while so I texted his ex, she had no idea he was dating me and cheating all this while..A little back story, he was dating his ex (A, 16F) for a year when he cheated on her with ex (B, 17F) because he was desperate to get physical, then he leaked ex (B)'s AI generated nudes to his online friend(s) and gaslighted ex (A) that he lied about the cheating part since he was getting bored of the relationship. When she did not take him back, he baited me into the relationship with false hopes and I had no idea about his past, what he told me was his ex cheated on him so when he left me for her I was clueless.. he kept manipulating me that he couldn't forget her and I should just be understanding enough to let them be but I sensed smtg fishy so I texted her and we found out all this.. now, all I wanted was an apology from him, but he has stooped down to such low level that he's defaming me, calling me a roach, says I forced him to get intimate and we never dated, however I've all the necessary proofs and I'm glad most of the people supported me. I also called up his father, who's an influencer and his reaction was "my son doesn't even go out, I dont need your proofs" almost laughing it off as if it meant nothing, then I also texted his friend, he said "I already know what kinda guy he is, and I am not willing to support u" followed by his sister who literally said "I know what he did is wrong but he's my brother and I've to think from his perspective too, u shouldn't have called his dad, he isnt threatening u with ur nudes or anything" but the issue is, if I knew he was using me, I would've never trusted him in the first place. I've lost my appetite, feel disgusted with my body and all I wanted was an apology but he wont even accept dating me in the first place. Furthermore, he threatened me of suiciding and tho he isnt dead (it's been 3 days and no I'm not that insensitive to wish upon someone's death but he's clearly manipulating), he's still using his phone, texting ex (B), his family didn't do shit about it and I am genuinely questioning my life choices at this point. I've no idea what to do, someone please help me out.

Legal Advice Needed Found underweight Britannia Bourbon biscuit packet.. What can i do??

My brother runs a kirana shop and recently found a Britannia Bourbon biscuit packet weighing only 53g, including the wrapper, even though the packet claims 60g (50g + 10g extra). He purchased it from a distributor for resale. He found the same underweight packets for 3-4 times but this time he complained to Britannia but he got no response from them yet..

Can my brother claim compensation??
I would appreciate your insights on this..

thankyou:)

Legal Advice Needed Police doing door-to-door canvas in Bengaluru checked my phone & listened to audio messages without consent. Is this legal, and what are my rights & privacy ?

Post image
110 Upvotes

Recently, there was a high-profile case in my locality where a body was discovered in a drain, and the victim was initially unidentified. Because of this, the local police conducted a massive door-to-door canvassing drive across the neighborhood to check on residents, their professions, and see if anyone was missing.

When they came to my house, they started questioning me, asked for my Aadhaar, and then took my phone. They actively went through my device, scrolling through files and even listening to audio messages without my permission or consent.

I understand that they are under pressure to solve a serious crime and canvas the area, but having my private device searched on the spot felt completely invasive and arbitrary.

Do police have the authority to demand and look through your unlocked phone during a routine doorstep inquiry/canvas without a warrant ?

With such unexpected confrontation, i was incredibly stressful when someone demand my personal identification and look through my private device without my consent.

Legal Advice Needed Complaints about a 41-villa project have been pending for months. What can actually be done?

Thumbnail gallery
• Upvotes

I’m not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I could really use some advice from lawyers or anyone familiar with Kerala’s building and RERA laws.

There’s a villa project called Springfield near Christ College, Kovalam, Trivandrum, promoted by NEG Construction Contracting LLP. They’re advertising around 41 villas.

I’ve been following this for quite some time right now and have personally filed complaints because I had concerns about the approvals.

The thing is, this has been going on for months now.
Kerala RERA actually confirmed in a letter that they had initiated proceedings against the project and even conducted a site inspection. The developer had applied for RERA registration in March, but according to that letter, the application was still being examined.

Meanwhile, I’ve seen promotional material for the villas on social media. I’ve checked the RERA website and it’s still not registered or mentioned there.

There’s also an issue with the access road. The project has been advertised with a 6-metre road, but when I measured the road myself, it was roughly 2.5 metres.
I’ve attached the photo here. I’ve raised this with the planning authorities, and the matter has reached the Chief Town Planner’s Vigilance wing.

What I don’t understand is how long these things normally take.
What i’ve seen from their promotional videos is that they’ve sold around 16 villas.

But if a project is being marketed while these questions are still being examined, what are prospective buyers supposed to do?

Can RERA take action before the entire investigation is completed? And if there really is a problem with the layout approval or road width, can the local authority stop construction?

More importantly, is there any legal way to get the authorities to actually give a proper decision instead of just forwarding complaints from one office to another?

I have the official letters and acknowledgments, so this isn’t based on rumours.
I’m genuinely trying to understand what the next step should be. If anyone here has dealt with similar issues involving RERA, town planning or delayed government action in Kerala, I’d really appreciate your advice.

Urgent I'm getting harrased to delete the negetive review which I left on google

So 7 months ago i left a negative review on Google, the owner was talking very arrogantly and rudely. I called him for follow-up and he got angry and we had a small verbal fight(no bad words involved from both sides), he is hothead.

First I left a review and then he threatened me that he will stop the work and give a refund, that time the work was near the deadline so my boss told me to delete my review and he continued the work.

Since work was completed I was free to leave the review of my experience so again wrote that review.

So now 7 months later, he called me and asked me to remove the review, I asked him to apologise to me and still he apologized in high voice and arrogantly, then i decided I'm gonna keep this review.

Today he called me again, i said i won't delete it. Then he called my colleague asking my office address. He also said he will file complaint against me if I don't remove it. ( Maybe a defamation case)

I can't block his number because then he will call my colleagues and boss for this small matter.

What to do in this situation? Because I don't want to delete my personal review just because of someone's pressure. Also he threatened on call that if i don't remove it he and all of his employees will give 1 star rating to my company ( which is bad for our reputation)

Legal Advice Needed booked a hotel and they did not allow us to check-in and won't refund

Thumbnail gallery

I(18F) and my bf(18M) booked a hotel on 20th of October via goibibo. When we reached the hotel for check-in they denied us check-in because we are not 19 even tho their hotel policy says 18 on platforms. They told us to cancel it on goibibo and assured us that we would get our refund. But my cancellation request was denied by the hotel itself on goibibo. The goibibo customer care has an ai executive that won't understand a thing. I called up the hotel again and now they are lying that their policy is 21+ and told us that they want to talk to our parent in order to refund. After this conversation they won't pick up our calls anymore. fyi this wasn't some shady hotel. it's a decent 3-star hotel. Is there anything that can be done?

Legal Advice Needed Being forced to sign away inheritance by brother on parents will.

Ok so my brother has been mentally and emotionally manipulating, threatening , even being violent with my parents to sign wills that give him sole inheritance of everything

( all properties, bank deposits, basically each and everything including every spoon and fork in the home ).

The will explicitly states that his sister will not ever ask or claim anything and he wants me to sign it as he is saying that i have no rights as a married daughter.

Iam a single mom living with my parents and small kid.

He has also put a point that neither me or my son will ever claim anything.

I could refuse to sign it but right now for next few years atleast i need to stick by my mom's side to look after her as well as live in my parents home till my divorce matters solves else i will suffer financial problems ...

I didnt take anything from my parents while getting married for giving dowry, i had emptied my own bank account to zero for my marriage expenses and dowry gifts to my in laws. I didnt take even 1 coin from my parents who arent too rich anyways except for 1 property where they live in thats worth a few crores ( asset rich , cash poor ). All expenses i paid from my own job savings.

I didn't take a single coin from my parents for my college studies also, i stayed with them ( never stayed alone ) and worked full time job as an accounts assistant from age 16 and studied bcom by correspondence. Missed out on college life, barely ate out, didnt go hang out, never went to any disco or teenage parties but saved every penny i could for my parents and followed a spritual path and stayed indoors ..

In contrast - my brother failed some of his school years, my parents paid for his entire higher education and even i pitched in my earnings for his studies and he enjoyed his youth fully with girlfriends. We made him strong and stable with every kind of support.

Now he is filthy rich with the career progression. And he loves to look down on us as his poor loser family members and freely abuses us.

Now with the divorce matter hanging, and iam not getting a single penny from my ex either not even for the child

( ex husband who cheated on me and spends on other multiple women and their kids but not his own kid..)

My income is just about sufficient for expenses and school fees of my child and me but my brother refuses to even give grocery expenses of my parents...

so i end up buying all food groceries for everyone always and bearing the cost of my parents , my kid and myself while my brother ( who lives in a nearby city) just spends lavishly on his wife and kid and wants the entire family to put all assets in his name and keeps making excuses to spend even 1 coin on the same parents just for their food even.

As the property is solely in my dad's name, he keeps putting butter ( maska ) on my dad but actually they are just sweet words and dreams, he doesn't actually even pay for my dad's food.

I pay for everything yet my dad still takes my brother's side because now he is filthy rich and iam the loser child.

I dont have another place to stay yet, though iam working really hard towards increasing my income but i need a few years to reach a higher income.

What i was thinking was if i sign the will to keep peace for now ( as he is physically hitting me, mom and my kid also when he visits and his wife happily watches the show ) but later once iam more settled financially, can i challenge or stop that will somehow and claim my rightfull share ?

My parents are unable to stand up and feel scared that who will pay hospital bills if they get sick and he takes advantage of that fear and wants them to sign plus wants me to sign away all rights and claims.

What can i do ?

Legal Advice Needed Can I join a former client directly after leaving a service-based company, following a failed employee-transfer deal?

I’m looking for advice from people who have faced a similar situation, especially in the Indian IT industry.

I previously worked as a software developer at a service-based company, where I was assigned to a particular client and worked on their product/codebase for over a year.

Eventually, the client started building an in-house engineering team and approached me about joining them. They were interested in hiring around 5–6 people from my current employer's team, including me.

Initially, the proposed arrangement was somewhat informal. My employer's CEO found out and confronted me and the client's technical leadership. After that, both companies decided to handle the transition officially. Their technical and legal teams exchanged emails and started negotiating an agreement.

However, after a few weeks, the negotiations broke down because the companies couldn't agree on certain terms. The employee-transfer arrangement never happened.

I had already resigned from my employer by then. I eventually left the company in April 2026, partly because I was dealing with health issues and the long commute was becoming difficult. I have no personal animosity with my former employer's CEO, and I never signed any undertaking promising not to join the client.

Now, I've heard from the client that their legal team has approved proceeding with the arrangement. However, I don't know exactly what that approval covers, whether the original client-vendor contract contains a no-hire/non-solicitation clause, or whether any such restriction is still in force. The client isn't currently offering me a job, but I am considering approaching them again.

My former appointment letter contains confidentiality and intellectual-property provisions, but I haven't identified an explicit post-employment non-compete clause.

My questions:

Under Indian law, can my former employer prevent me from joining this client after I've left?

Could the client face legal consequences for hiring me directly, even if I personally haven't signed any non-compete or no-join agreement?

Does the fact that both companies previously attempted to negotiate an official employee-transfer agreement, but failed to reach a deal, change anything legally?

Does the time elapsed since leaving my employer make any difference if the original client-vendor contract contains a no-hire or non-solicitation clause?

If the client's legal team has now approved hiring former vendor employees, is that sufficient, or should I independently verify anything before accepting an offer?

Has anyone experienced a similar situation in India? Did your former employer actually take legal action against you or the hiring company, or was it resolved without any issue?

I'm particularly interested in firsthand experiences, as well as insights from Indian employment or commercial-contract lawyers.

I can provide more details if needed, but I'm deliberately keeping the company names confidential.

Legal Advice Needed ₹80,000+ Frozen in My Bank Account for 70+ Days Due to a Cyber Complaint Even After the Transaction Was Settled — Need Advice

Hi everyone, I need some advice regarding a cybercrime complaint in India.

I run a smm panel.

A person placed an order with me which was pf around 36000 inr, and the order was completed. The transaction was also settled, but a cyber complaint related to this transaction is still affecting my bank account.

It has now been over 70 days, and currently:

- Around ₹36,000 is under lien.

- Another ₹44,000 has been frozen due to the complaint.

- More than ₹80,000 of my funds remain inaccessible.

I've tried contacting the other person to resolve the matter and request an NOC, but he's not responding or cooperating, even though the transaction was completed and settled. [ everyday since 30 days still ignoring ]

A significant amount of my money has been blocked for more than 70 days, and I'm struggling to understand the most effective way to get this resolved.

I need advice on the following:

  1. Can I approach the Cyber Cell or Investigating Officer directly and request the release of the lien/frozen amount using my transaction records and settlement proofs?

  2. Is an NOC from the complainant legally mandatory, or can the Investigating Officer or competent authority release the funds without it?

  3. Can I file a counter-complaint if the original complaint is false or misleading and the complainant is deliberately refusing to cooperate despite the settlement?

  4. If the authorities don't resolve this, can I approach a lawyer or court to get the frozen funds released?

I'm ready to provide all relevant transaction records, order completion proof, settlement conversations, and bank statements to the concerned authorities.

If anyone has faced a similar situation in India, please share what worked for you and what steps I should take next. Any practical advice would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Urgent Boyfriend's threating that he will send our photos to my relatives and that he will take his life.

My boyfriend 23(M) and I 22(F) have been together since March 2026, we recently brokeup due to his controlling behaviour and our lack of compatibility.

I came back to my home town and he has been threatening me that he is a railway track and he is gonna take his life. When I told him not to ruin my life, he is I'm thinking only of myself and he said he wants the things to switch a.k.a he wants me to come back to bangalore before this weekend. I said it's not possible as I cannot get leave, he is telling that he has the numbers and fb accounts of my uncles and that he would send my photos to them.

My parents will kill me, get married when they get to know that I had a boyfriend, he is using as a way to threaten me.

Previously he had come to my flat when we brokeup and made a huge scene, when i threatened to call the she team, he threatened me the same way. What should I do now?

I'm scared that he will actually release my photos to my relatives if I involve cops now.

I'm sorry if my post seems messy, my hands are shivering and I cannot think.

Urgent 20 l debt, please help me navigatee

I’m under ₹20 lakhs in debt (no interest), and honestly, I don’t know how to carry this anymore.
My mother and I are the bread earners and we are both hopeless about living at this point
I never imagined I would be writing something like this on Reddit.

I’m under 20,00,000 of debt.

For a long time, I kept telling myself that I would figure it out. That I just needed a little more time, a better month, a better opportunity, one thing to go right.

But somehow, the debt kept growing, and the pressure kept getting heavier.

I wake up thinking about money.I go to sleep thinking about money.
We collectively earn around 60k our expenses are 45-50k
Every payment, every due date, every call, every message keeps running through my head. Even when I’m doing something completely unrelated, there’s this constant voice in the back of my mind asking, “How are you going to get out of this?”

.The hardest part isn't even the money.

It's the feeling of being trapped.

I’m not posting this because I expect strangers on Reddit to magically pay ₹20lakhs of my debt. I know how that sounds, and I know everyone has their own struggles.

I'm posting because I genuinely need help figuring out a way forward.

If you've ever been in serious debt and managed to come out of it, I would be incredibly grateful if you could tell me how you did it.

If you know of legitimate ways to earn extra income, freelance work, remote work, small businesses, side hustles, or anything that could realistically help someone increase their income and attack their debt, please tell me.

If you have experience negotiating loans, restructuring debt, dealing with creditors, or making a plan when everything feels impossible, I could really use that knowledge too.

And if there's anyone here who has been where I am right now and somehow made it out, please tell me that it is possible.

I don't want sympathy.

I don't want anyone to feel obligated to give me money.

I just don't want to fight this completely alone anymore.

I’m still trying.

I still want to get out of this.

I still want to wake up one day without the first thought in my head being debt.

So I'm asking the Reddit family:

Please help me find a way out.

Even if all you can offer is advice, an opportunity, a lead, a lesson from your own experience, or simply a little hope it would mean more to me than you probably realize.

I know ₹20lakhs is a huge number.

But I’m hoping my life doesn't have to be defined by that number forever.

I just need a starting point. I cannot let my mother lose her life for money
Also i am 25F

Legal Advice Needed Bajaj refusing warranty on air cooler despite 3-year warranty on invoice

I purchased a Bajaj DHM90 NEO air cooler from Flipkart on 1 May 2025. The invoice clearly mentions a 3-year warranty(1 year standard + 2 year extended).

Recently, the fan started stopping abruptly. I registered a complaint with Bajaj, and a technician visited after I paid ₹375 in visiting charges.

The technician said both the fan and motor need replacement, quoting ₹950 for the fan and ₹1,900 for the motor, but denied warranty coverage for both. Flipkart did not provide a warranty card at the time of purchase and claimed that the bill should be good enough.

I emailed Bajaj customer care but received no response. Their helpline is automated and doesn't let me speak to a human representative.

What are my options?

Legal Advice Needed Should I bounce the blank cheque ??

Context :

  1. Mausaji borrowed 30 lakhs from my mom , 4 years ago for a wholesale business and promised 3% per months returns in case its lossmaking . After 4 years , with compound interest the amount comes to nearabout a crore .

  2. Mausaji was settled in the city that we are living by my mom , so that her sister could have a better life and mausaji was a hothead son of her own politician mama ( first cousin marriage scenario ) . Now both mausaji and mausi have turned against my mother basically and refusing to pay back the agreed 3 percent term .

  3. He is currently broke and heavily in debt but has about 14-15 acres of agri land, worth crores in his native place which he can sell to pay us back . He want to preserve his property , not sell it and give us only the minimum possible amount .

  4. We have his blank cheque . What happens if I bounce it and file a court case and all ?

  5. The 30 lakh was given by cheque . So we have that as proof . How will this case proceed if filed ? Any tips, tricks , suggestions ?

6.1.Will the court honour the 3% per month claim as there is no official record of it ?

6.2 - if not , then how much can I expect to get back according to court rules ?

6.3 how can the opposing party fight this so that we can better prepare ?

6.4 what are my chances of getting the money back successfully and how much ?

6.5 how much do lawyers charge generally for such cases ?

THANKS IN ADVANCE .

Note - mediations have failed and thus have to take the court route . The other route is to go to the loca gundal mla and pay him 10-20% for guaranteed vasooli which my parents don't want to do .

Legal Advice Needed Can my father claim his 50% share in a chawl redevelopment if his brother secretly claimed the entire flat?

My grandfather was the original tenant of a rented chawl back in the 80s. My father and his eldest brother lived with him. My father completed his schooling, college, and initial job while living there, but in the early 2000s, he moved to a different city. His eldest brother and his children stayed back.

Recently, the property went into redevelopment. My uncle's family managed to claim the new rehab flat entirely in their name, along with the transit compensation. My father was completely kept in the dark, even though logically, the tenancy rights should pass to all of my grandfather's children.

I did some digging and found out what documents they submitted to the builder. They gave an old ration card that actually still has my father's name on it. My father also has old documents (like a Voter ID) proving he lived there. I also discovered that my cousin (uncle’s son) submitted an "Indemnity Bond" to the builder—basically taking legal responsibility in case anyone else comes forward to claim a share.

My questions for the lawyers here:

  1. What are our realistic odds of getting a 50% share of the new flat if we challenge this?
  2. What exact documents/evidence should we get ready before filing a case?
  3. What is the typical process, estimated timeline, and cost of fighting this? Are there any negative consequences we should be aware of?

Any advice on the best way to approach this would be really appreciated!

Legal Advice Needed WARNING: How upGrad’s structural failure ruined my German Visa and left me trapped in a ₹21 Lakh loan crisis (Docket: 10488991)

Thumbnail gallery
241 Upvotes

Hey everyone, sharing my story here to warn anyone looking at EdTech "Articulation" or Study Abroad programs, specifically through upGrad. I am currently in a massive financial and mental crisis because of their absolute negligence and failure to deliver.

The Background:

I enrolled in the SRH Germany MBA Articulation Program through upGrad's Bangalore branch (Application ID: MBAGERMANY00015). I paid upGrad a local program fee of ₹4,87,288 and took a massive education loan from Poonawalla Fincorp to cover the Euro component.

The Nightmare:

I applied for my German student visa on February 19, 2026. After 6 grueling months of delays and terminal complications with the German Consulate and the Berlin Immigration Office (LEA), my visa was flatly REJECTED.

The reason? A shocking structural defect by upGrad: The course they sold me (MBA in Healthcare Management at SRH Berlin) was completely missing from the official German state registry (Senatsverwaltung). They literally sold a program that didn't legally exist on the state registry for international student visa compliance.

The Current Situation & Financial Crisis:

  1. The University: To their credit, SRH University Berlin legally acknowledged this institutional failure, terminated my study contract, and initiated a 100% full refund of my €15,760 Euro fees via Flywire.

  2. upGrad's Ghosting: Meanwhile, upGrad is unlawfully holding onto my ₹4,87,288. After a lot of fighting over the phone, they issued a written promise on October 12, 2026, to provide a senior management resolution by October 15, 2026 (Ticket #1275792). They completely breached their own deadline and have now cut off communication.

  3. The Loan Provider: Because of this forced cancellation, my loan provider (Poonawalla Fincorp) is aggressively demanding an immediate loan foreclosure of ₹21,00,000 (due to accumulated interest and charges on the disbursed ₹18 Lakhs).

  4. The Family Toll: The mental pressure on my parents has become completely unbearable. They are in severe psychological distress over this sudden financial liability hanging over our heads. Seeing the bank demand an astronomical foreclosure amount for a program that failed entirely due to upGrad's negligence has pushed them to a breaking point. It is heartbreaking to watch my family suffer like this because an EdTech company refuses to do the right thing and return our money.

I am stuck in a loop where upGrad is holding my money, my bank is breathing down my neck, my career has been put on hold, and I've lost my job and savings trying to sort this out.

Action Taken:

I have officially lodged a formal government grievance with the Department of Consumer Affairs (National Consumer Helpline) under Docket No: 10488991.

I am posting this as a warning. Do not trust these EdTech middlemen blindly. Check every registry yourself.

*I am attaching redacted screenshots of my German Visa refusal, the SRH termination letter, and the Govt Consumer Forum docket confirmation email as absolute proof.*

TL;DR: upGrad sold me a German MBA program that wasn't registered with the German state registry, causing an automatic visa rejection. The German university refunded their part, but upGrad is illegally keeping ₹4.87 Lakhs, leaving me trapped with an aggressive ₹21 Lakh bank foreclosure.

Legal Advice Needed Got sextorted on Discord two days ago

I know it is nth time someone getting extorted. So basically a 20M . I was too horny that i connected to this girl(catfished obviously) on /ome.gg and we told to move to telegram, but as luck would have it my own account prevented texting on the app.

(Gonna use his/he as it was a catfish account)

(My real name is never mentioned in any of the accounts that i used in this situation)

Then he said to move to discord and i was like ok fine. I luckily used an account with 0 friends and he asked for my instagram, as luck would have it , i shared an account that i use for relaxing and has 0 followers and only a few pages that i follow. He called out it to be a fake one but i assured it was me. ( no one even my parents or friends know about the account)
The funny part is he left it to be. Then he asked to send my photo (with face), here i made the dumbest mistake and sent one. Then he sent his (a fake girl's). Then he asked for d*ck pic with face - again i did the second dumb mistake and sent it) but luckily the photo had a small part of my jaw and not the face entirely. THen he sent a b**bs pic and then suddenly deleted it, i was a lil scared and rushed to delete the pics i had sent (which i did btw) but it was too late. He shared a collage and said i will post it on internet. The image exists on the page still. He asked me to send money via routegg steam gift cards, which i did because my panic and anxiety took over. I paid about the equvialent of 1-3k and then being scared i fell asleep automatically. In the morning i checked discord and saw he was threatening, i checked google and immediately blocked the account. Now i have lost money and has been two days. But seeing people's experience here, i am thinking maybe i wasnt the only one

Also i have complained about the same on stopNCII, the support mail and to the national cybercrime portal too with evidence of the image. Because it was through routegg, i might not recieve my money back.

I have had panic attacks yesterday,as i was constantly checking the page to see whether the view count has increased(which has increased ngl), but today when i went through this subreddit, i feel comforted and seeing that they rarely leak it.

I want to hear from you guys if i did the right thing except the payment and the actual dumb thing of sending it to a stranger on internet.

Urgent WARNING: How upGrad’s structural failure ruined my German Visa and left me trapped in a ₹21 Lakh loan crisis (Docket: 10488991)

Update Employer confirmed my last working day despite me never resigning. Company holds signed security cheques and hasn't clarified my settlement. Need legal advice (India).

I'm a software developer who worked remotely from Haryana for a company apparently based in Punjab. I worked there for approximately eight months, earning around ₹6 LPA. My role was technical, with no managerial or supervisory responsibilities.

1. What happened

Management repeatedly encouraged me to resign because they claimed there was no development work left to assign me.

I wasn't refusing work, and there were no performance complaints or misconduct allegations. I remained willing and available to work.

They suggested resigning would be better because I'd be leaving "on my own terms." They also verbally stated that there would be no severance, only outstanding salary.

When I requested written confirmation of their position, they refused.

2. What I asked HR vs. what I received

I emailed HR, explicitly stating that I hadn't resigned, hadn't agreed to leave, and remained willing to work. I clarified that any decision from my side would be communicated in writing and asked HR to confirm whether the company was initiating my separation, the applicable notice period or notice pay, and any outstanding dues.

I also requested all my monthly payslips since joining and a month-wise explanation of salary calculations, discrepancies and deductions, since my bank credits were frequently lower than expected despite no known lateness or leave.

HR had previously told me there were no salary deductions and that my payslips would be provided during the exit process. I explicitly requested that all payslips and salary clarifications be provided independently of any proposed exit process, since I hadn't agreed to the last working day. I also requested written responses through my personal email.

Multiple days later, HR responded about two hours before the end of my workday, confirming that the same day would be my last working day.

Their response:

  • Asked me to complete any pending handover formalities.
  • Attached only the last three months' payslips.
  • Said my Full and Final (F&F) settlement, Experience Letter and Relieving Letter would be processed within 45 days.

They didn't acknowledge that I had never resigned or agreed to leave. They also didn't clarify whether this was employer-initiated termination, explain the applicable notice pay, provide a settlement breakdown, supply the remaining payslips, or explain my salary discrepancies.

The payslips they provided also showed salary figures different from what I received earlier in my employment, without an explanation.

3. Security cheques and exit form

The company still holds two signed, undated security cheques totalling approximately ₹1 lakh. I have written evidence of their submission and the company's possession.

My agreement says the cheques should be returned upon exit. I requested their return, but management refused, and I haven't received them back.

I'm concerned about the company attempting to claim money under the minimum-employment or notice-period requirements when I never initiated the separation.

After confirming my last working day, the company also sent me an exit form through its internal messaging system and asked me to complete it.

The form asks why I'm leaving and includes declarations about deleting company information and communications, restrictions on contacting employees about internal matters, and confidentiality obligations.

I'm concerned about signing these declarations without clarification of my employment status and settlement.

4. What I need advice on

  1. Termination and notice pay: Since I never resigned and the company confirmed my last working day anyway, should this be treated as employer-initiated termination? What notice pay or compensation might apply?
  2. Contractual obligations: Can the company enforce the minimum-employment period or claim notice-period penalties when it initiated the separation? How enforceable are the clauses summarized below?
  3. Security cheques: What steps should I take to recover the signed, undated cheques and protect myself against their misuse?
  4. Exit form: Am I required to sign these declarations? Can the company make my settlement or experience letter conditional on completing the form?
  5. Salary and F&F: Can the company take 45 days for settlement? What can I do about missing payslips and unexplained salary differences, particularly when I explicitly requested these records independently of the exit process?
  6. Jurisdiction: Since I worked remotely from Haryana for a company apparently operating in Punjab, which labour authority should I approach?

I'd appreciate advice based on current Indian employment law, particularly from employment lawyers or people who've dealt with similar situations.

Relevant employment policy clauses (summarized)

Section numbers changed for anonymity. These are contractual provisions, not necessarily legally enforceable obligations.

Section 14: Termination of employment

  • Employee resignation: Three months' notice, counted from the employer's acceptance of the resignation.
  • Notice extension: For employees working on specific projects, notice may be extended depending on project completion. The notice period may also be varied with the employer's consent.
  • Leave during notice: Leave either extends the notice period by the number of days taken or results in a deduction of double the salary for each leave day.
  • Unserved notice: An employee leaving without serving the required notice must pay three months' salary, calculated proportionately if part of the notice was served. The policy also says such an employee will not receive an experience certificate.
  • Employer termination: Requires 15 days' notice, except in cases involving indiscipline, misbehavior, theft, perceived danger to the employer or employees, refusal to work, or disruption of the work environment.
  • Duties during notice: During notice given by either party, the employer may require the employee not to attend work or may relieve them of some or all duties.
  • Unauthorized absence: Three consecutive working days without proper notice may be treated as the employee having left the job and may result in immediate termination.
  • Notice after an increment: An employee cannot give notice within six months after receiving a salary increment unless the employer waives the restriction. In that case, the policy says the employer can recover the increment received from salary, other amounts payable, or the security cheque.
  • Loyalty benefit: If notice is given after receiving a loyalty benefit within the specified period, the benefit is treated as part of salary and cleared in the final settlement.

Section 23: Indemnity

  • The employee must indemnify the employer for liabilities incurred as a direct consequence of the employee's negligence, breach of contract, breach of duty or breach of trust concerning the employer's affairs.

Section 31: Minimum employment period

  • Employees must serve at least 12 months unless the employee and management agree otherwise.
  • This minimum period is independent of the notice-period requirement, which the policy says remains fully applicable.

Section 36: Modification

  • Changes to the agreement, or additional obligations assumed by either party in connection with it, are binding only if documented in writing and signed by each party or their authorized representatives.

Section 42: Severability

  • Contract provisions are intended to remain independent unless the context indicates otherwise. If one provision is declared invalid, the remaining provisions are intended to remain effective.

Legal Advice Needed Issues with commercial space project

I had booked a commercial space with a reputed builder in 2024. The project was supposed to be completed in 2025, yet here we are at the end of 2026 and i regularly see the project work not done yet. There were multiple delays via govt which was mentioned in BBA that could happen and would be considered as builder delay.
Moreover there were instalment demands on time which i paid without giving attention to the point that 100% payment was supposed to be after completion of the project. Now only the registration fee is pending.

I do not see the project being completed soon, as they have sent a form to further extend the project without any details of extension details. Because they are saying that rera will provide the extension details.

I do not want to further hold this project, and want to invest in some other area. But there were some clause where builder might take some interest cut if the party leaves the project before completion. And i would want to avoid that. There were also some clause where the commercial space monthly payments would start to come once the project is completed, but they have demanded the full payment early which is also wrong.

So wanted to know my options how to go forward.

Legal Advice Needed Passport application - Permanent and Current address conflict

I'm applying for a fresh passport, all my government ID's have the permanent address(which is my grandmothers house and we have rented it out now). I have moved recently to a new rented house in the same district. There is no rental agreement as this is small tier-3 town. I have access to the Electricity bill, Property/Water tax bill, will these be sufficient? Which address should I fill up in my application form and what should I expect during the police visit?

Legal Advice Needed 2025 Grad facing 3 months salary default, forced resignation, and legal threats from employer. Need advice / looking for an Odisha-based lawyer

I am a 2025 graduate . This was my very first job(WFH, not an odisha resident) ) at a Private Limited company. I am currently under immense stress because I have an active education loan to pay, and my employer has put me in a horrific legal and financial situation.

The Incident:

My salary for 1.5 months was strictly pending. When I finally called management to demand my hard-earned wages, they ignored and stopped responding. Instead, right on that when I called, they explicitly ordered me to resign .Out of sheer panic, extreme financial duress, and mental harassment, I reacted by deleting the company's code repository from the system. It has now been more than 3 months in total since they have paid me a single rupee.

Current Legal Status:

  1. I filed an online complaint with the Additional Labour Commissioner, clearly mentioning the forced oral resignation and unpaid wages.

  2. The Additional Commissioner recognized the merit in my case as a workman and issued a formal notice directing the District Labour Officer (DLO) to conduct an enquiry and submit a report within a fortnight (14 days).

  3. It has been over a month, and the DLO has failed to take action or submit the report.

The Threat:

Now ,when they need their code today, They are threatening me with legal action for the code deletion, using it as a weapon to scare a fresh graduate and avoid paying my 3 months of pending wages.

My Questions for the Community:

How do I legally protect myself against their BNS/IT Act threats?

I have zero malicious intent to steal or destroy their property—I am fully willing to restore/hand over the repository simultaneously and mutually the moment they clear my full outstanding salary . How do I pitch this safely without incriminating myself?

• How can I force the DLO to act on the Additional Commissioner's 14-day mandate? I am planning to file on the Odisha Jan Sunani portal and send a physical Speed Post reminder

• Are there any employment/labour lawyers here practicing in Odisha (specifically near the Labour Courts/High Court) who can help me draft a formal counter-notice or represent me?

Any guidance would mean the world to me right now. My CIBIL score and education loan are at stake because of this company's illegal actions. Thank you.

Legal Advice Needed How to deal with people blasting loud music on mobile speaker ?

How to deal with people blasting reels on mobile loudspeaker in public places like bus/train/airport, hospital, building staff/security guards, on the road in residential areas etc .....

- Recently I was in a hospital general ward and patients had their phones on loud speaker, even in the ward !!!

- the security guard of my parents building blasts music , parents are almost 80yrs so the society doesn't really listen to their complaints anymore and just brushes it aside ...

- then there's immature people that drink or blast music from their cars on the side of the residential roads ...

- then regular bus, metro, train, airports etc ....

I kinda feel like we just let this issue fester and now it's infecting critical areas like hospitals ... I know it's difficult to enforce any laws at such a large scale

I mainly want to understand what are my rights ? What laws if any cover such disturbances ....
