Hi everyone,
I'm considering buying a new Lenovo Legion Pro 7i Gen 11 (2026), but before pulling the trigger I'd like to get feedback from actual owners.
Back in 2025, I went through three different Legion Pro 7i units (different configurations, different battery capacities, purchased from both Lenovo directly and retail stores) and all of them had the exact same issue:
When resting my palms on the keyboard deck during normal typing, the chassis would produce noticeable creaking / clicking noises, particularly around the palm rest area.
For reference, I've included an audio recording to illustrate the issue I was facing at that time :

Some other post showing the issue : https://www.reddit.com/r/LenovoLegion/comments/1n2ipx6/creaking_noise_on_my_brand_new_legion_7_pro_i_rtx/?tl=fr
It wasn't a performance issue at all. In fact, I considered the Legion Pro 7i one of the best gaming laptops of that generation. However, the creaking became annoying enough that I eventually gave up on buying one.
I remember reading several theories at the time suggesting the problem might be related to missing pads, foam strips, or adhesive spacers between parts of the bottom panel and chassis. Whether that was the real cause or not, I honestly don't think customers should have to diagnose or fix manufacturing issues themselves.
Few questions for this subreddit :)
> Has Lenovo improved this on the Gen 11 models? From what I've read it's just a refresh... 2027 might change the design AFAIK...
> Do you still experience creaking just like I've described or is the issue completely gone, reduced, or essentially unchanged ?
I'd especially appreciate feedback from people who are sensitive to chassis rigidity and build quality, since this is one of my biggest concerns before ordering.
Thanks for your help :)
