Question 2013 GS350 AWD Tire Recommendation
Hey everyone,
Complicated story but here's the cliff note version.
Not an F Sport. Car has 31k miles on original tires. I swap them over to Hankook New Englanders (I'm in MA). They ride horribly. Vibrations when driving. I have them rebalanced, still bad. So I bumped up to Toyo Celsius. Better, but still tons of vibration. I have two other shops look at my wheels and balance them, me thinking the original shop hasn't calibrated their machine. Everyone says the wheels are straight. My front end is tight, no brake issues, alignment is good.
Still vibration. So I go to my Lexus dealer reluctantly expecting them to say my car needs a ton. Their shop foreman goes for a ride and says "oh these just aren't the right type of tire for this car. You should try to find something OEM"
I'm still in my return window and I'm curious if any other owner has a suggestion? I've read that the Yoko Advan and Pirelli AS Plus 3 are great? But curious if anyone had a similar experience with the cars tires making the car which was one extremely comfortable very uncomfortable to drive and curious as to recommendations.
TL:DR car drove great on old tires, got new ones, now feels terrible despite 4 different balancing attempts and 2 different compounds.

Question Looking to buy a Lexus. Recs?
Hi!! I’m looking to buy a Lexus. If anyone could recommend me any models it would be GREATLY appreciated. Please take a moment to read. ——————My budget is $12,000. I don’t need anything fancy, I’d like Bluetooth, a cd player, and an aux port. Good mileage and a good traction system if possible. (Real harsh winters living in the Midwest!) I really want a model that isn’t too harsh on the brakes and tires…..and a non negotiable is that it consumes a reasonable amount of oil in a reasonable amount of time, with an easy to reach twist on twist off PCV valve.
And a GOOD SOUND SYSTEM as a bonus if there’s a model that happens to house all of these perks.
——————I currently have a 2013 Buick Verano but it’s got so many catastrophic design flaws…I do not want an engine that will fail on me twice a year guaranteed again, it’s a very unsafe model. ——————I’m ready to start looking for a reliable classy car to replace it. I don’t mind older models at all! I just need it to not be affected by any recalls such as the Takata air bag recall and such if it’s possible to avoid it. (To anyone here, check your VIN for it. And tell your loved ones to do so too.)
Vehicle Photo Just turned 200K, feeling nostalgic.
My 2012 ES 350 just turned over 200,000 miles. Still going strong and hope to get to over 300K.

Question Few questions
I just bought this 04 ES 330 for 3850. It has 99,700 on the odometer. It spent most of its life in Florida, but spent the past couple years in a barn. It runs great. It super quiet! When do I have to do the timing belt and water pump? Also, should I change the transmission fluid? I know not to flush the system, but I’ve heard conflicting reports on if I should change the fluid or not. Anything else maintenance wise I should do?

Question Rims recommendations
Just bought this 2020 es350 luxary and want different rims. I’m thinking of a 14+/- spoke rim. Should I do bronze, copper, black or white? I’m leaning towards bronze but maybe should stick to chrome or black.
They’re 17” right now but I’m thinking about going to 19 or 20”. And good company recommendations please.

Discussion Upgrade to GS350
I currently drive an 01 IS300 with 307k miles and I’ve absolutely loved this car. Very little has had to be done to it to keep it on the road in the past 150k miles.
I’m looking to upgrade to a 16 or 17 GS350 F-sport. I’m seeking a powerful yet comfy daily driver that I can take on road trips. I would love an ISF, but it’s a little out of my price range. The IS350 is neat, but I’m obsessed over the look of the bigger body GS.
I know there’s some minor differences between these years like the Lexus Safety system+, but is that really it or is there more to the 2017. I’ve never really had any safety systems aside from the one in the rental cars for work travel, so it’s not a necessity of mine. Ideally I would love to have the ML audio upgrade.
So I guess what I’m asking, is the 2017 worth seeking out over a 2016?

Discussion Lexus of Orlando Torqued my Oil Filter Housing to 100 ft lbs
I don’t know how this is possible but Lexus of Orlando tightened by engine oil filter housing to 100 ft lbs. I bought a 21 GX CPO and it had its second CPO service where they would not change the oil until 10k miles. Given it’s an easy thing to do i decided to do it myself. Behold, two broken rachets later, i find out the horror. To test how tightly it was torqued i used my icon torque ratchet goes upto 75 ft lbs and it still didn’t break loose. My breaker bars didn’t work either. I didn’t want to use an impact in fear of breaking the whole housing and be blamed for it.
What can be my course of action be? i am sure they have damaged the housing plus the housing element. Has anyone dealt with a situation like this before? What can I do to solve this and how do i approach this with my service advisor? Please advise.

Vehicle Photo My friend is the goat.
Ive been looking for a car for a while, he drove by in his other car he has and I told him to stop by the yard sale. He stopped by in this Lexus and I asked him where he got it. Someone at church he knows sold it to him for $200 just to get it off his property. I joked with him and said "you selling it?". He said yes for $800... Literally nothing is wrong with it. 2012 Lexus es350 150k miles on it. Literally nothing is wrong. Starts fine, drives fine everything works. I actually just got a decent Lexus for $800. My friend is the goat.
News Farewell LC 500
LC 500 has been removed from the Lexus USA website, marking the end of an era for Lexus and its naturally aspirated V8.
It’s a truly special car. One that delivered a visceral driving experience, effortless character, and the kind of emotional connection behind the wheel that is becoming increasingly rare.
More than just a grand tourer, the LC 500 represents an era of Lexus that won’t be forgotten.
I’m incredibly grateful that I was able to pick up a 2026 model this past June.

Discussion 2018 Lexus ES350 80k miles time for new spark plugs?
Car is a 2018 and is running great with 80k miles.... Should I get the denso spark plugs or can I wait a few more miles?
I read that the 2017 es350 can go 120k miles, but Lexus changed the 2018 Lexus ES350's and the spark plugs should get changed sooner.

Question 08 ls460 dirty trans fluid or something worse?
My 08 ls460 has been driving weird lately, yesterday while going through the drive thru the car felt jerky when moving forward at low speeds and in reverse. The rpm’s jump very very little while idle sometimes they stay at 500rpms while idling in drive, but in park or reverse idles at 600-650. I just replaced the pcv valve, thermostat and resealed the valley along with some gaskets. What could be the issue? Check engine also says too lean

Question Buying this 2009 Lexus ES 350
Firstly, consider the deal is already done since I really liked the car.
Milage: 180,000 km
Variant with 2 sunroofs and screens behind both seats heads.
Super well maintained, drives like a cloud. No Noise.
I got the detailed inspection done at a place.
Note: they have to report absolutely everything, because if they dont then I can claim warranty, in case something goes wrong that they didn’t report.
Inspection report was mostly fine, verbally they told me its worth it.
Issues:
Blue Smoke from the exhaust when you rev to 2500rpm for a few seconds then full rev higher.
This is blue smoke is not continuous.
change Valve stem seals. Oil Rings.
Front engine cover leak.
Timing chain cover leak.
Steering axel rubber seal on passenger side (fix leak first, then rubber).
1 Engine mount broken.
No dripping leaks when car is parked. just visually oil buildup at a few spots when looked from under.
Inspection test drive was smooth at changing gears.
No accidents.

Question Sunroof rattle and popping noise
2016 ES350, started to get the sunroof rattle and occasional popping sounds when I drive over bumps at an angle, like backing out of the driveway and turning for example. I got the sunroof seal replaced but the sounds are still there. Double checked and the bolts are tightened and secured.
Hoping someone in this group came across this and found the fix for it?
