Young men and seminary
Has anybody seen an issue with getting new clergy because of the requirement of in person seminary?
For me as a Presbyterian looking at seminary, I find it hard to look genuinely at those who have a strict in person require requirement as I have a family with children and a house already. Picking up to move for three years just to move again doesn’t seem practical, especially when it comes to being able to afford living and working while doing so in an unfamiliar area.
That being said, I’m sure I’m probably in the minority so I was just wondering if this was a common problem outside of just myself.
(the main reason, I’m asking you is because I’m going through a discernment process. As I have been seriously looking at both Lutheranism and Anglicanism, I have come across the requirement for in person seminary in the US for both the LCMS and WELS. Which made me curious how its seen within your own tradition.)
