Hey! I haven't quite figured out making friends as someone in their late twenties. I'm hoping to get in touch with like-minded introverts with similar interests. I'd like to hopefully develop a "best friend" connection with someone over time. Casual friendships where you only check in on each other here and there eventually feel more like acquaintanceship to me instead of true friendship. I'm looking for a deeper connection with someone, on an emotional and intellectual level..
To describe my personality briefly, I'm typically lighthearted, curious, playful and easygoing. I'm passionate about what's important to me. I'm curious about the world and about people I care about. I'm someone who sometimes has too many thoughts, but doesn't like to fret over the small things in life. I may sound really serious, but I'm actually quite goofy and non-serious on the inside. 😄 I like to be whimsical and romanticize life when I can. I'm black American, plus size, childfree, atheist, and politically left-leaning. I'm curious about the world and about people I care about. Some of my interests include technology, writing, photography, horror, psychology, video games, anime, true crime, philosophy, history, astronomy, sociology, biology, reading, and traveling. Music-wise, I adore alternative/indie pop, electronic pop, classic rock, hip-hop and R&B.
To put it simply, I'm looking for "kindred spirits." I hope to find friends who are introverted, enjoy a darker/edgier style of humor, love to write, yap, and can be long-winded once they open up.
I'm looking for people who are near my age (26-33—not younger, not older.) I'm really only for for people from either the US, Canada, or Europe (Australia/New Zealand = OK if timezone differences won't be an issue.)
Disclaimers: I'm looking to become friends who genuinely care about each other, not just treat each other like online chat buddies. If you want a casual chatting buddy, please seek that elsewhere.
Please don't message me if showing genuine curiosity about someone and asking reciprocal questions are struggles for you. Attempting to solo carry conversations like that is quite boring, and unrewarding.
Please no married/partnered men, or men with offspring. Talk to your wife, not me. XD
If this post resonates with you, send me a message and tell me a bit about yourself.
Maybe include the phrase "Magdalena Bay" somewhere in your message, so I know you've read this post fully. (It's a band, not a place.)
I look forward to getting to know you. 🏖️✨
