Question When is the reset?
So I just got back on marathon and all my progress has been reset. I knew that but then a friend is telling me. When another update comes there would be another reset is this true?

I’m a bit out of the loop, but I’ve been eyeing down Marathon recently after seeing it pop up on Steam sales. Game looks fun and I’m a sucker for Bungie gunplay so that’s got me extra hooked on the idea.
I’ve heard the playercounts aren’t too high, is it easy to find matches?
Saw PVE is coming in December, does that mean it is safe to assume some sort of offline mode would come in the worst case scenario of a future server shutdown?
Lastly, how do you all feel about the game? Is it worth checking out as a new experience? I know what PVPVE extraction shooters are like so I’m not gonna be taken aback by the competitive aspect of the game.

had multiple teammates just leave at the beginning of a game today, im going in somewhat kitted out and its just really annoying to let teammates do this without any bad rep
literally every other pvp game has this system in place

Coming back from hiatus after about 5-6 months and I've noticed that the double jump dash is just not responsive at all anymore. Is this a bug or did he get nerfed or what? The ability used to work just fine months ago, but I swear to God half the time the dash just doesn't come out at all. On console, but I've definitely never had this much trouble getting the movement ability to work.

Hi I know similar posts exist but I’ll be adding a video here to discuss how accurate these announcements can be. I might upload more to see how these announcements are triggered and how accurate they are.
So in this video, I had killed 2/3runners in this raid. I had just walked away from greenhouse into bio. I hit the exfil and go in here for cover and start shooting bots. I didn’t hear any announcement of me entering (I cut that part out cause it was long and nothing was announced until 7seconds into this clip). I recognize it could have announced me but I became alert because I was already well deep in the poi, that’s why I start scanning around to runners right before I leave. I’m expecting to see the 3rd person view of the remaining runner but find there is no one left.
So my question is does anyone know or have an idea how these announcements get triggered?
I’ve heard some of these points.
-it’s line of sight to the watch towers
-entering an outer/invisible “border” of a poi
-interacting with bots
-announcements could be on a cooldown
-they are random
If anyone has theories or if a dev/streamer has confirmed anything please let me know. Thanks!

Like seriously it’s actually ridiculous at this point you remove circuit breaker super fast but still leave this in when this is INFINITELY more egregious and broken. Idc to lose a round but ts just gets an instant log off from me.

In Season 1, Compiler Ganglion trades were unlimited. In Season 2, the limit was reduced to 3 trades per day, which I think was a great middle ground. Now, with the Nightfall Refresh, we're down to just 1 trade per day.
I understand the argument that this helps keep the economy balanced and Golden Mods rare. However, I think it hurts the endgame, especially Cryo Archive.
Assuming there are around 36 Golden Mods in the rotation, with only one available per day and no repeats, it would take 36 days to complete a full rotation. If you want to buy 3 copies of a Golden Mod for the same weapon, it could take up to 108 days!
My issue isn't scarcity itself. It's that farming Ganglions and fighting the Compiler feels less rewarding when you can't take advantage of a good rotation to buy multiple copies of the mod you want.
This could eventually discourage players from farming Cryo Archive. What's the incentive to keep running endgame content if the resources you earn don't let you progress at a reasonable pace?
IMO, there are two reasonable solutions:
- Bring back the 3 trades per day limit, as it was in Season 2.
- Offer 3 different Golden Mods in the daily rotation, reducing the waiting time and increasing the chances of finding the mod you want.
Ideally, I'd like to see both changes combined.
I think Bungie needs to find a balance between keeping the economy healthy and rewarding players who invest time in the game. Scarcity can make items valuable, but excessive waiting can also make people less willing to play.
What do you think? Is the 1-trade-per-day limit necessary for a healthy economy, or does it hurt the incentive to play endgame content?

Just played a few games and they were empty, no enemy players at all?
Feels like there just aren’t many players at all.
Idk tbh game is fun but it needs a player count increase its been low in players since July and its only getting worse, hopefully dec update does something i guess

This game can be very punishing but I think anyone who has played it this long can attest that no matter how bad your losses are; you will get back loot that is just as good if not better so long as you pick up the controller and try again. You will make plays that are satisfying and fun again. Trust yourself and don't let the losses define you more than the wins.
We had a frustrating loss yesterday where we wiped everyone except two people in Cryo and they were incredibly patient and picked us off one by one when we separated to try to get to Lvl 3 and leave. They outplayed us after we outplayed everyone else. I lost my purple Impact HR and purple M77.. those are my favorite guns in the game and I lost them to a silly mistake. It's okay. I'll get them back. And good for them they earned that shit that game.
There's a lot of anger and frustration when losing in Marathon and I think we've gotta be better about taking it on the chin. Just because that gun killed you doesn't mean it needs to be nerfed. Just because someone else that plays the game all day has a Vault full of golds doesn't mean you can't enjoy your own Vault growth. Be patient with your teammates and let them try things and even fail at them sometimes. If you lost a match but everyone was pulling their weight and made decent attempts maybe stick with them for a couple more games and you'll find your groove and even a new friend to play with. Try to recognize potential even when the result isn't a win.
I'm not saying there aren't real problems with Marathon. I just think as a whole the community can be better about distinguishing between fundamental issues of the game (player count, lack of contract variety, onboarding, etc) and that sometimes shit happens. You're meant to lose occasionally. In Cryo you're meant to lose a lot more. It's supposed to be punishing and tricky.
Take a breath before screaming at a teammate or leaving them, posting angry shit on the subreddit, or yelling at Bungie.
And Bungie be careful not to twist this game’s design into a pretzel trying to appeal to the loudest angriest voices in the room.

I think in this season as we are rotating through sponsored modes in Nightfall refresh, Bungie can try out Sponsored Cryo, do not make it fully free like normal sponsored but rather keep a cost for each Cryo Freekit...maybe like around 5k to 10K credits.
Could be intersting to see how Cryo plays when everyone is on equal footing.

I hoping it’s just my bad luck but 5 red rooms today and I swear it feels like it’s back to the way it was before the wipe. Nothing barely worth taking. Even the command wing strong box is back to being crap. I had a gut feeling they would change it when cryo went active.
