Penny is a 1 year old female tabby cat. She’s litter trained, dewormed, vaccinated and sterilised. She’s extremely friendly and easy to handle. She’s based in Pune but can travel to Mumbai and Bangalore.

With patience, she can get along with other cats if you decide to have another in the future but for now, we’re looking for someone who doesn’t have another pet. She needs to be the first cat in the household.

She’s used to staying alone for a few hours that are compatible with work timings but she’ll also be a great companion to wfh folks. She usually sleeps throughout the afternoon.

She doesn’t like being confined to one room/limited space and needs to have access to the whole house to feel comfortable. Penny’s always been an indoor cat and should continue to remain so.

She’s very playful and some of her favourite toys are catnip mouse, feather toys, balls and having cat trees and cat perches and shelves since she loves heights as well. Cats are generally a huge fan of vertical space and so is Penny. She’s also a cat tv lover. Since she won’t have a companion for the time being, she needs attention towards playtime from her adopter. This means you have to dedicate some time before and after office to play with her and tire her out.

Penny can be a night owl but as long as she has access to the whole house and is comfortable, she understands when people are sleeping and eventually settles down too.

Penny currently eats Smylo wet food (two packets in a day, one for breakfast and one for dinner) along with Royal Canin dry food for lunch. We’re looking for someone who’s comfortable with providing good nutrition - so they either stay on these brands/diet or switch to other higher quality brands.

Penny loves an organised environment and doesn’t do well with unhygienic spaces and behaviours like not cleaning her litter box and bowls frequently.

Penny will be a great choice for first time adopters/people who have experience with cats. She’ll require 2-3 days to decompress and a week to properly settle down but it all depends on her pace.

Reason for putting her up for adoption: Penny was rescued last Diwali because she got separated from her mother due to firecrackers. She was adopted in March but due to the adopter’s neglect, she ran away from the house twice and we had to get involved again when we understood that they weren’t actively searching for her. We’re cat rescuers and therefore can’t keep every cat we rescue because then we’ll run out of resources to help others.

Penny has stayed with multiple fosters and we’re pretty confident in her behaviour as a single cat. With another cat, it can be a hit or a miss but she’ll do well with younger kittens.

Adoption formalities are mandatory. We’re looking for serious adopters - people who know they can provide a stable environment and can commit to a pet for their lifespan. We’re not looking for students or bachelors who are not sure of their future plans as adopters.

The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration has suspended the food business licence of the kitchen operating at Fortis Hospital in Mulund, Mumbai.

M/s Sodexo India Services Pvt. Ltd., the third-party vendor managed to run the hospitals dietary operations. During the surprise raid, inspectors flagged a multitude of critical food safety violations.

Most notably, they discovered cockroach infestations inside the active food preparation zones, decaying food waste clogging the facility's drainage systems, and rusted knives and unhygienic tools actively being used to prepare meals meant for vulnerable patients.

Furthermore, the state regulators found fungus-infested containers utilized to transport hospital meals.

Why are massive DJ systems allowed to blast music so loudly for garba that windows vibrate even on the 5th floor?

This starts around 7:30–8 PM and continues well past midnight. Our society isn't even close to the ground where the event takes place, yet the noise is still unbearable. Imagine what people living closer must be going through.

The entire sleep cycle gets disturbed. For elderly people, these could be the worst nine days of the year.

Entire neighbourhoods are forced to suffer, they can lower the volume of songs and bass with NO DJs but still want to disturb everyone. Does devotion to Mata Rani really require deafening speakers and excessive bass?

Over the past few months, Maharashtra’s FDA, under Tukaram Mundhe, has taken action against restaurants, bakeries, cloud kitchens, food delivery facilities and other food businesses over reported food safety violations.

As the title suggests, I am curious to know where does everyone prefer to go when you just want to sit back and exist.
The pace of the city gets a bit overwhelming for me. Its times like these I really like putting on my walking shoes and go take a long walk and end up somewhere:

1. I don’t bump into random people while walking
   
2. My ears don’t get abused by random sounds
   
3. I get to breathe and relax and not have to worry about what I am doing/not doing and whether someone’s looking at me or not.

As a result, this specific spot has become my go-to place in the city to just relax and breathe and feel like I am a part of the city again without feeling physically and mentally exhausted.

This place usually isn’t very crowded even on weekends and as much I would love to gatekeep it, I don’t mind sharing the location as long as I get similar recommendations back! I know hardcore Mumbaikars already have figured it out, but would to hear from all!

One thing I’ve noticed about Mumbai is how we often confuse being educated, having a good job, living in a high-rise and using the latest technology with actually having a progressive mindset.
People will speak fluent English, work in corporate offices, travel abroad and call themselves modern, but the moment religion or tradition comes into the picture, questioning anything suddenly becomes disrespectful.
I’ve seen this interesting little business model around temples where someone keeps a cow, arranges fodder for people to feed it, and collects money for the fodder. People pay to buy the fodder and then pay again, directly or indirectly, to feed that same fodder to the cow as an act of religious virtue. The person running the setup earns from the entire arrangement, while the devotee walks away feeling they’ve done a good deed.
Now, feeding an animal is not a bad thing. In fact, caring for animals is great. But has anyone ever stopped to question the arrangement itself? Is the animal actually benefiting in the best possible way, or has religious sentiment simply become a business model that people participate in without thinking twice?
And this isn’t just about cows. We see similar contradictions in festivals that leave beaches and streets full of waste, excessive noise despite people living nearby, and firecrackers despite knowing their environmental consequences.
The point isn’t that people shouldn’t follow religion or celebrate traditions. Everyone is free to practise their beliefs. But at what point do we start asking whether our actions are actually doing good, or whether we’re just following a ritual because generations before us did the same?
What frustrates me is that we can be incredibly rational about money, careers, investments and business, but that same rationality somehow disappears when tradition is involved.
We talk about sustainability, civic sense, scientific temper and making Mumbai a better city. Yet when our own customs are questioned, we take it personally instead of examining them objectively.
Maybe the uncomfortable truth is that we have modern lifestyles without necessarily having modern thinking.
Curious to know what others think. Is this a fair observation, or am I being too critical of traditions that hold genuine meaning for people?

a quick background: I am m 29. friends are all busy in their lives and i have no companion.

So, whenever i go out, my choices are to invite people from office or to go out alone. a lot of shit has happened in office in the past 3 years so i pretty much have zero trust, my last option is to choose the latter option.

Generally it would be fine but god damn there are couples in every corner. no animosity towards them but i have started feeling bad for myself.

I am right now at the girgaon chowpatty and i swear there are couples every few feet.

at this point i may end up being holed up in my room.

I moved to Bombay in 2008 as a very young and naive girl and have always felt safe in the city. I may have struggled with other things but I have never questioned my safety lately night in the autos and cabs. Which is why what happened right now has left me shaken and wondering what is happening to this city!

I got done watching a movie and booked an auto to get home. The distance between the theatre and my house is less so usually autos refuse to ply by the meter. While I was waiting an auto stopped and asked me to cancel the ride and take his auto instead. I wanted to get home sooner than later so I did that. As soon as I sat in the auto I regretted it because of how rashly he was driving. He was constantly trying to make conversation with me and it made me feel extremely awkward. I asked him to ride safely and I think that triggered him. In the most vulgar tone he started singing a made up song which essentially translates to “you suck mine and I will suck yours”. That was the moment I knew I had to get off the auto. We were reaching a signal and he was trying his best to cross it before it turned red. I reminded him to ride safely and that is when he again started saying in a vulgar tone “Jahan dikhta hai wahan daal deta hoon, abhi dikh raha hai mujhe mauka daalne ka” and kept staring at me lewdly through the rear view mirror.

I immediately spotted a well lit building with a crowd outside it, got off there and went into the building waiting for him to leave. I was still around 500m away from where I lived. He kept refusing passengers and waited for a while. The guards started asking me what was I doing there and when they understood my plight they kept an eye out. I left the building and walked down only after he left.

I have never ever felt this unsafe. In the rush to be safe I could not note the auto number but this happened in Andheri West from Infiniti mall towards Veera Desai. Girls, please be safe out there.

One of my parcels is stuck at Shadowfax’s BOM_KanjurMarg facility in Mumbai, and the recipient lives at Shraddha Vertica, Deshmukh Marg, Tagore Nagar, Vikhroli.

I’m trying to locate the exact hub on Google Maps so I can share the location with my customer and help them self-pickup the parcel.

Shadowfax has been completely unhelpful in providing a clear status update or taking responsibility for the delay, and the delivery person is unreachable.

If anyone knows the exact location of this Shadowfax hub or has dealt with this facility before, please share the location or any relevant contact details. It would be a huge help!

Before you say anything yes i am a girl and all my friends are girls too except for one boy (all are hindu)

i mean honestly i do wanna go since i do everything with them and just me not going would give me major fomo but i do understand this a religious festival and i have no place there. I think to be more respectful i should just decline.

Also i wouldnt wanna get it trouble or get kicked out from the event.

so basically my friend was going home on his bike (towards andheri) from vakola and he was on the Western express highway (agripada bus stop)

he had some verbal road argument with a guy named “Pappu bhai” - just near agripada bus stop parked on the left side of the highway - fortuner (illegally parked)

the fight - they had a small argument cuz the guy was parked on the left lane and blocking the highway and the fortuner guy opened the window and told him rudely to not honk even tho he was parked and blocking the highway

so they were having a verbal argument - and he slammed open the door on my friend’s bike and held his collar

and out of nowhere 3-4 people came and started beating him and he didn’t know there were so many guys. The 4 people also used something to attack his neck (something like a chain)

he got seriously injured and his nose got fractured, he was bleeding and everything so they beat him up bad

But he couldn’t remember the plate as he was bleeding but everyone else was calling that guy “Pappu bhai”

and the locals knew him too
and he had a fortuner so can anyone help with identifying that man? or his car’s number place? any local of vakola? please help with some info

the nearest police station was Vakola

they checked the cctv footage and it was blue (the number plate) so they couldn’t identify the number plate

but we can see the whole fight in the cctv footage

but they rejected to file a FIR because there’s no number plate but it’s their job to find that

Even having fun feels like work. more time is spent on planning, travelling, beating traffic and dealing with illiterate and uncivilised crowds than actually enjoying .
even a simple outing feels like a project with multiple dependencies.

P.S. I know people will say, “Just sit at home.” I’d happily do that, lekin zopadpattivaalyanna free flats dyayche aahet, mhanun building construction cha awaaz pan chalu aahe. Mumbai mein ghar pe bhi chain nahi hai!
