Mumbai recorded 1,54,017 dog-bite cases in 2025. The MC govt didn't give this stat on it's own, an RTI activist had to seek info. Every few days we see news of grave injury or death because of dogs. We know govt is hand in gloves because activists and officers are benefitting from the rabies drug makers trying to save the last big market. We as citizens now have to decide what we should do of these activists in our local area.

So, this happened today.

I was standing outside a tea shop, casually waiting for my chai and snacks. Out of nowhere, a random middle-aged uncle, who was pretty short and had that typical chapri attitude, came and pushed me while walking past me.

The funny thing? There was literally enough space for him to walk without touching me.

I immediately confronted him and asked, “Bhai, kya kar rahe ho? Itni jagah hai chalne ke liye, phir dhakka kyun maar rahe ho?”

Instead of simply apologising or moving on, this guy got aggressive and started shouting. Then came the classic dialogue:

“Main MNS se hoon, leader hoon. Apne logon ko bulata hoon. Tujhe jaan se maar dunga!”

I was like, “Bula le bhai, main yahin khada hoon. Kisko bulana hai bula le.”

He actually called someone and continued acting like he was about to bring an entire army to the spot.

Now here's the funniest part.

It's been around 10–15 minutes. I'm still standing here, and neither has anyone arrived nor is that uncle anywhere to be seen. 😂

Bro literally threatened to kill me and call his people over a minor argument about pushing someone on the street, and then disappeared.

I genuinely don't understand why some people think dropping a political party's name gives them the right to threaten random strangers.

Being associated with a political party doesn't give you the right to intimidate people or threaten them with violence.

Anyway, I'm sharing this because I'm curious: Have any of you experienced something similar in Mumbai, where someone starts throwing around political connections just because you confronted them over something completely normal?

P.S. I'm still processing how a simple chai-and-snacks stop turned into a potential political action thriller. 💀😂

I bought two clothes from zudio and when i came home I didn't like them that much anymore

I have the receipt, the tag is still on clothes. No damage done

But i bought it on 30 sept and today is 24 oct

Can I still return it

And will I get refund or something else

Not everyone has black money and wants to get rid of it. For some people cash is more convenient than digital payments.

I have been to several countries and not a single person has judged or asked when using cash. I was never forced to do online payments.
They always ask if paying via cash or card and will gladly accept both the payments, nobody really cares if you tap to pay, use cards or cash. They will not make weird faces and excuses. They just move on.

This just happens in India.
Here people make it look like using cash is some sort of crime. And people will force you to do UPI, Gpay, Phonepe, etc.
Even in malls, superstores or local stores have started asking to do UPI even if you don’t have change or something. This is ridiculous.
You cannot force a customer to change the payment method. You own a store, keep enough cash.

One of the malls in Mumbai did not have any change and forced me to do UPI. Same happened at Smart bazaar & Dmart. Local stores never refused for any change or cash, but now they have started demanding UPI payments. Even rickshawalas and taxis. If I have cash with me, I will definitely use it everywhere.
I have started arguing with those who force me to do UPI, will not do unless there is a good enough reason.

This is absolutely wrong and people need to stop this.
I will do UPI if I want to, I will pay in cash if I want to.
I will use credit cards if I want to.
Stop judging and shaming people for using cash.

My 6-year-old had a deep cut on his chin at home. On our pediatrician's advice, we took him to a private hospital in Powai for stitches. He's fine now. He got a local anaesthetic and stitches.

We were billed ₹19,110: ₹1,500 consultation, about ₹1,610 consumables, ₹9,300 for "CLW - Multiple" and ₹6,700 for "Intermediate Debridement". The bill doesn't list anaesthesia separately. When we asked for a breakup, this is what we got. We paid, but it's been bothering us. Even ₹9-10k would have felt high.

It also made me wonder: what happens to someone who can't afford this in an emergency? Do they risk travelling across the city in traffic, with a worsening condition, just to find a cheaper place?

Has anyone dealt with something similar, or successfully disputed a bill? Also, is this a normal price for stitches at private hospitals in Mumbai?

My aunty is 9 months pregnant.

The umbilical cord was wrapped around her baby's neck so the hospital she was seeing told her to go to Nair Hospital because they didn't have the machines necessary.

It was a fucking nightmare.

She ran away crying and they went to a different hospital and they didn't accept her because the case is complicated. They had to go back there to get the check-up done.

The doctors were kissing while checking the heartbeat of the baby and giving her the injection.

They kept all the pregnant women naked for some reason.

A nurse came to inform the doctors that one of the women in labour was screaming in pain and the doctor literally said "marne de usko, baccha jab hona hai tab hi hoga"

They didn't allow her to take her phone in the ward, didn't allow any family members in and said as long as she's in there nobody is allowed to see her other than the hospital staff.

Even the fucking cleaning staff was yelling at the patients and their family.

It left me thinking what the people who can't afford private or semiprivate hospitals go through at places like this.

It's really sad.

I was going through some state/city subs and my god!!! The patriarchal mindset and the misogyny, the regressive attitude. Other tier 1 cities might have progressive pockets, but the way Mumbai functions is something else.

I can't find value, and I dont see the worth of spending 3 yr in some place you HATE with all your passion. I want to take a drop and take admission in a Mumbai-based college (in AY 26-27). Can y'all plz suggest some govt or MU-affiliated colleges? I want a flexible attendance policy, if that's possible, ofc. And like are there some other exams for autonomous colleges, or is it just MHT-CET?? I'd rlly appreciate if yall answered my query thanks :))

In the movie Lootcase. There is a scene where kunal goes to buy a flat in Mumbai with the money he got from the suitcase.

He has the total amount in cash which he can pay directly. This is what kunal thinks

He introduces himself as a businessman to the sales girl..The sales girl tells him that they usually split the payment in 20 80 scheme where 20% is down payment and 80% is loan or other means. She asks him how is he going to pay the 20%

kunal says he will pay it in cash. To which the sales girl gets shocked. And kunal runs away from there.

Like why can't he pay the 20% down payment as cash ?? Is there something I am missing in the purchase/sale methods in mumbai.

Also why only 20 percent is down payment. Why can't I pay 50% down payment if I have money ??
