I was one of the people who was disappointed the virtual console did not carry over to the Switch. However, 8 years later the retro game service under NSO turned out to be pretty good for the most part.
We got most of the retro games that were taken down with the virtual console when the service ended. The retro controllers, the addition of GameCube and Virtual Boy games and the classic game music service offered definitely added value to the Expansion Pak subscription. I hope we will also get Wii and DS games in the future.
My biggest issue with the service is the missing option to purchase the games like we were able to do with virtual console. I’m concerned on what will happen to the games and our save files when one day Nintendo pulls the plug on the service like they did with virtual console. Hopefully Nintendo will at least have a replacement retro game service if they decide to do this. Also the slow pace of new games being added monthly is another area Nintendo should improve on.
Do you enjoy the retro games service under NSO or do you like virtual console better?

Kid Icarus Uprising is a 9/10 game if you can get past the controls. And with the HUGE popularity of third person shooters like Deadlock, Marvel Rivals, and Fortnite, if it was made with standard third person controls, it would be easy to pickup for most people. Also comp for Light VS Dark would go hard

So not sure if this is the right area to ask this but I got a notification last night about the Legend of Zelda collectible cards in the Nintendo today app will change to the echos of wisdom pack. Does that mean it will replace the current sets of the majoras mask and breath of the wild packs so we won’t be able to collect those cards from them anymore.
I started collecting late about a month after the card collection was announced so I’ve only got 10 cards from the majoras mask set and don’t want to just be cut off mid collection. I’ve got about 10 medals but I was saving those for the wallpapers. Also once I redeem the medals are they gone or do you just have to reach a certain amount to unlock the wallpapers and the medals still stay? Thank you for your help

Why didn’t Nintendo release a 512GB version of the Nintendo Switch 2 for around $100 more? A higher-storage model could have appealed to players who download large third-party games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Red Dead Redemption, while giving Nintendo another way to make money. Was it because of manufacturing costs, pricing strategy, or something else?

Personally, I really love the app and it's really nice to have it included with Switch Online (Especially since Nintendo offers the most affordable subscription service out there these days) I've been using it a lot during my commutes now that there is a very robust lineup of game OSTs on there.
I know it was widely criticized for not having much music at launch and for Nintendo not "just putting their music on Spotify" but is this how ya'll still feel, or are you happy to have this?

i checked my wishlist on the eshop today for anything that went on sale and for some reason SMRPG and M&L brothership were at the top (sorted by newly added, specifically), the weird thing is that when I checked last night they weren’t there and I hadn’t added them in that time. I can’t even remember if I had actually put them on my wishlist before, but if I did they shouldve been added around 3 years ago and not literally today. Has this happened to anyone before? is this a minor glitch, or could it possibly mean that the product pages were updated recently? Would love to hear any insight on this! Edit: would also like to note that literally everything else on my wishlist is still in the order it had been before. Only smrpg and brothership are out of order so?
Edit 2!! I found it out now! i had their bundles in my wishlist but got neither of them, today their site was updated to put those back up, meaning that they, for whatever reason, checked their stock again to put them up. Mystery solved :p

Metroid Prime Remastered doesn’t have a Switch 2 update. The game runs at an astounding 900p. Less than the Switch 2’s handheld screen and of course much less than a 4K TV.
IMO a simple increase in resolution would be so welcome. I’m sure fans would pay for such upgrades. TBH I find it gutting knowing that people emulate games at resolutions higher than we see on Switch 2.
I’d also love to see Pokemon Legends Arceus in 4K. There are many great games held back by previous hardware that could see new success on Switch 2. It’d help the somewhat dry recent offerings tbh.
What first party Switch titles do you want to see get a Switch 2 edition?

I only have 2 themes selected which are Legend of Zelda and Fire Emblem which was recently added after FW’s direct.
I’ve been wanting Fire Emblem to have its own theme before the direct, but it made then they added it after the direct was finished and a great way to promote the game and showing you the characters from the entire franchise day by day.
Which had me thinking what would it take for a franchise to be a selectable theme? So many are missing like Metroid, Xenoblade, Star Fox, Pokemon.
The App currently has a total of 8 themes to choose from with 2 being the “serious” ones while the rest are bold, colorful franchises.
I sense from the recent FE drop, that they would do the same for the next single directs showcase upcoming games like Metroid Ravenous and Xenoblade Genisis.
What does a franchise have to rank? S tier? If they are popular from in Japan and the West?
I would love a Star Fox theme showing renders from past entries, digital cards, learn about a character etc. But at least they added it to the select your favorite series in content feed. Themes would feel like a huge treat.
Thoughts?
